A magnificent stay at The View. It’s definitely an adventure to get to the hotel through bumpy roads however the location is absolutely breathtaking. For those looking for sublime views after a day of canyoning and adventuring around Jebel Shams. You will not regret your stay. The hotel itself is very well equipped and the food options are diverse especially in the evening when a buffet is available. The staff is so welcoming and helpful, we appreciate especially Richard’s (Manager) help throughout our stay. On top of it all, if you don’t mind a cold swim - one of the most beautiful pools I have ever seen !

A 4-wheel drive vehicle is required to access the hotel.
The difficult journey begins 7km before arriving at the hotel.
There must be someone who is good at driving.
If you are not confident in driving, we recommend using the pick-up service.
The view is the best.

A wonderful place high up with a beautiful view and spectular swimming pool. We stayed 2 nights and it was nice to come back to this oasis. The food was good and the staff so kind and welcoming. I would recommend staying here rather than some of the other places on the road, it is a real piece of calm and beauty

The Resort - Excellent Place @ Remote Location. Given the accessibility factor, Its very very well maintained, neat clean & tidy experience staying there for 2 nights. Although Small but a very well maintained swimming pool. Very Courteous & Helping Staff. Restaurant - Special Kudos to Mr.Francis and his team for creating a very welcoming experience @ the restaurant. Great Food @ Such a remotely accessible location. Variety / Taste were really appreciated and absolutely un-expected to be of such high quality. Improvement Suggestion : The location of the AC in the rooms needs to be relooked at. It becomes uncomfortable at times with the flows directly coming on the bed even with any kind of adjustments.

We spent five nights at The View and think it's the perfect base for exploring the region (Jebel Shams, Al Hamra, Nizwa, Misfat Al Abrayeen,... all within 1h15 max drive). The rooms are basic but bright and comfortable with a beautiful balcony overlooking the plains; the bathroom is spacious. We really liked the variety of the buffet in the evenings and mornings. We also ate à la carte, which was just as tasty. The staff is very friendly - and Francis, our head waiter who manages the restaurant team, was attentive to our every need. The somewhat bumpy but safe 7.5 km track leading to the hotel adds to the charm of the place.

Fabulous views of the landscape below and a mountain sunset. We stayed 2 nights and really enjoyed it. The staff is very attentive, the food was great ( buffet) and the al fresco dining area is very nice. We are here in early winter and the weather is great I do have a couple of gripes though. - we had hoped to see the stars at night but unfortunately the pathway lighting is abominable with more than 20 “glarebombs” in our view. We were unable to see anything dimmer than the supermoon. We stayed in the second row of pods with a walkway below us. We had to close the shades due to all the stray light. This could be remedied so easily to create a dark sky friendly environment. - my second gripe is that there is zero privacy in the room as guests can look into the rooms from multiple locations. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay!

Very comfortable and enjoyable stay. The GM and his team were very cooperative and made sure all our request were met. The Chef also was very cooperative as we required vegetarian options. The AC in the room could be moved from above the bed if possible. All in all, an enjoyable experience.

Good location, nice view... sedan cars can reach the hotel. But during raining it could be difficult, because the road could be slippery. Food is terrible, not upto the expected standerd. Dinner was a'la carte, no kids menu, so the kids had to eat adults food. We had to buy water during dinner. breakfast was a buffet. Very limited. Excellent pool view. But they didn't switch on the pool heaters. Rooms are accepted, as it was built according to a different concept. Staff is okay... But our experience was unsatisfied, felt that we were misled by the reviews.

We enjoyed a two night stay here in April. As it was Ramadan breakfast was room service - a bonus for us. There was a large menu to choose from the night before. The dinner menu was extensive - we skipped some of the courses as there was so much on offer. The tabbouleh was especially good. We took the advice of the staff ( sorry I didn’t note your name) and went to Misfah which was magical and also to al hoota cave as we left. The room (29) had a great view, a balcony with comfy furniture and even a bath with a view. The infinity pool was amazing. Highly recommend a trip here. Thank you to the staff, you do a great job.

It was a privilege to stay in this unique "eco-lux hotel" set at 1,450 meters above sea level on a slope of Jebel Shams. A 4x4 is necessary to reach this destination. From Al Hamra, there are frequent signs leading you to and up the 8km winding road. Each room is individually placed to optimize views and privacy. The walkways between buildings are very stable with a secure walking surface and handrails on either side. Changes in elevation are moderated across the distance with only a few steps at a time. The staff was professional and gracious. Dinner and breakfast were delicious buffet meals. The room was well-designed and had the desired upscale amenities. Of course, our favorite feature was the floor to ceiling windows and the balcony which ran across the front of the room and looked out on that amazing view. We enjoyed the views every moment of our stay.... literally from the moment we arrived till sunset, then from sunrise to checkout. We're already looking forward to a repeat visit someday soon!
