We booked a family room & they advised they only had doubles left, in the end it was sorted but wasn’t a great process.

I was slightly wary to book this hotel due to the reviews and going by the images online it looked like it was randomly placed in some sort of sketchy industrial state. But as I was just looking for a budget hotel for a night or two ( and this was the closest hotel to the area I needed) I booked it, but I must say I was pleasantly surprised! You do have drive behind a garage and past an old derelict building. But they have a car park which I think is watched by an external company through the night. They also lock the main doors after 10om but your hotel key lets you in and then there is a second set of doors that only lets you in via an electric key fob. So I felt very safe staying here. As soon as I stepped into the reception area I was very surprised l. It was bright, cheerful looking and very clean. The lady on the reception desk was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and had a nice clean smell to it (not a chemical smell). My room was simple but effective, very spacious, very clean and the bed was nice and comfy. They have a nice little wardrobe area and small tea/coffee section. It was exactly what I needed for my stay. There was no iron in the room but I just popped dowb to reception and again the lady behind the desk was lovely enough too lend me and iron and a board and helped me carry them up to my room. I also asked for extra sugar and milk and again the gentleman behind the desk was very helpful and friendly, handed some boxes and said take as much as you like and checked if I needed anything else. I also particularly liked that they had a selection of menus and list of restaurants and pubs in reception. A few things to note is that the hotel does not have a lift so if you are disabled you need to specific you need a room downstairs. The bath was very small, which could also be a bit troublesome if you like a bath.

The staff were very polite all round, willing to help with any issues. The hotel had everything you need for a short work stay-over.

The long standing staff, namely - Wendy, Dave, Jude, Paul, Heather and new staff Roland and Wendy's granddaughter make us feel home from home. They are warm, friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. We have stayed there 13 times in last 22 months

On arrival it’s clear that the exterior of the building is in dire need of maintenance. The nearest shop, bar, restaurant are 4 miles away in a neighbouring village. Once inside it’s no better. You a greeted in reception and shown a vending machine that supples chocolate, crisps and fizzy drinks. No water! The room is very basic, no air con, no fridge etc. the bathroom stuck of stale urine! Generally this hotel is very tired, situated behind a commercial vehicle repair centre and a derelict building. I would urge anyone reading this to google earth before booking!

Difficult to find as the postcode takes you to a layby on the A14. Looks like a nightmare with abandoned building adjacent and situated behind a truck garage. Inside, standard Travelodge layout with larger than average rooms. The outlook was the prettiest I have ever encountered ina Travelodge layout. Yes the room would benefit from updating, but there was very little noise and the staff were friendly and helpful.

They want more then £60 a night for a room There then it isn’t worthy of That at all. What’s nearby to Do? Hardly anything ! Go To the other travelodge up road further in stow/a14 at least that gets a McDonald’s

I chose this hotel because it is located well for me. I had meetings in and around Ipswich and this hotel was in the right place. I had a very good experience. Clean room, friendly staff, good location. Definitely recommend it. It is a little dated but everything was clean and presentable. It was nice to see management getting stuck in with the team.

I stayed at this hotel because I love nature and walking! It has great paths around the hotel. I take off in the morning and make my way back in late evening. Especially days are getting lighter , it works for me. Staff are always polite and helpful. Room is clean and they even top things up and tidy my room everyday. I love staying at this hotel. Everything seems managed very well.

I often stay at Stowmarket Travelodge. Staff are very friendly. Rachel, Dave, Jude, Wendy. There are more of them who are very helpful and nothing is too much to ask. They even help me out with vending machine chance. Room is always clean and inviting although can be a little dated. Only had one issue so far which was a false fire alarm that's all. Never had any other issues. It is really close to A14 so ideal for me. Recommend it to anyone who likes a quiet, clean and friendly hotel.

Pleasant stay at Stowmarket Travelodge. I can't really fault it because it was very a reasonable price. Clean, inviting and easy to get to. Staff were very polite and helpful. Can't remember managers name , I think it was Faic or Faik. He was very happy to help us with finding our way around Stowmarket and Ipswich. I read a few reviews beforehand and I can agree with view outside the hotel is not great but did not affect our stay one bit.

Needs a good overhaul, refresh, repaint, the main doors are worn, tired, scratched all over. It says more about the hotel from this point on. Staff smoking immediately outside the main doors which is not pleasant
