The room was lovely. The complimentary snacks and drinks were a nice touch, and quite delicious. Breakfast and dinner were both excellent. The view from the hotel was pretty. The hot and cold pools are nice, but a bit strange that they close the pools from 12pm-2pm.

Facilities looked a little tired, buffet spread not extensive and pretty mediocre. Onsen was the only saving grace. Glass and wood structure not great for winter!

My recent stay at Onsen Papawaqa Hotel in Miaoli left much to be desired. While the location offers potential, several aspects fell short of expectations. The room condition differed noticeably from the images provided, showing signs of age and wear. The so-called “onsen” experience was basic, offering little more than a hot water soak. The dining options were adequate but unremarkable. However, the most disappointing aspect was the customer service. Staffs interactions often lacked warmth and attentiveness, which significantly impacted the overall experience. Considering the price point, the value for money was questionable. While some travelers might find the hotel suitable for a brief stay, those seeking a authentic onsen experience or high-quality service may want to explore other options in the area. As with any accommodations, personal preferences vary, and guests are encourages to research thoroughly before booking. Last note, they offer free bottle of infusing oil for 5-stars google review, guess that how the price come about.

Wow this was the best hotel I've ever stayed in, I would 100% revisit this hotel for the amazing hot springs and stunning rooms.

Awesome Travel

Always nice to be there, great experience as usual. Good breakfast and dinner spread, nice private or public Onsen amidst nature. Not a place for barrier free access though.

Was allocated a room that’s near to the road side. This road divides the hotel lobby and some of the rooms on the next building. a little noisy esp when motorcycle passes. Food wise the hotel doesn’t serve lunch which is very unique. So for lunch you have to venture to nearby eating houses or perhaps 7 Eleven convenience shop. Room is clean and service is good.

Everything was perfect. Service was efficient and professional. One of the best buffets. Big bed, beautiful room and scenery. Will be back!

A good place for couples to date, with beautiful scenery, service staff, and very good service attitude. There is also an outdoor hot spring pool and lounge chairs that really make people feel relaxed and relieve stress.

The room was big and beautiful, but if you booked it on trip.com, you had to pay for the hotel shuttle back to Miaoli High Speed ​​Rail. Booking a room on the official website is free. The return trip private car costs NT$300 each for adults and children, so it will cost NT$900 for two adults and one child, which is a bit expensive. The hot spring is OK, there are not many people in the morning. The breakfast buffet was average.

Booked a room for Guanyue through the platform, and upgraded to Guanzhi Suite at a temporary increase in price when checking in on site. (The attached picture is of the second floor of Guanzhi) Please draw the curtains when showering, going to the toilet and taking a bath. The first floor below is the shared swimming pool area. The hygiene level, facilities and hotel design are all beautiful, but you really need to be careful not to slip in the hot spring facilities in the room. Even though the hotel has placed many anti-slip mats, you still need to be very careful. Be careful when bringing the elderly with you and never let children run around. The flip-flops provided by the hotel can "slightly" prevent slipping. The hotel rooms are well soundproofed, and the room doors are also well soundproofed (maybe it's quiet outside). The entire hotel, even the elevators, are full of cypress wood (smell), which is very relaxing and comfortable. The road to the hotel passes through several sections where there is often a risk of falling rocks. When passing by and seeing the stones on the roadside, it is certain that the risk of falling is still quite high. I hope that the relevant units can do more maintenance, especially on rainy days, as this may affect the willingness to go there. Maybe it was because we went there on a weekday, some of the counter staff were not keen on taking on responsibilities. My companion and I were standing in front of the aromatherapy counter, dragging our suitcases (which made a lot of noise), flipping through the menu and discussing massage plans. The lady was sitting behind the counter, leaning sideways, looking at her phone and scrolling through Facebook, ignoring us. She stood there for several minutes without responding until we called out to her. The other staff members I encountered were all very friendly and welcoming.
