Hotels in Masaryk Shopping Strip, Mexico City

Generally, personal objective evaluation: 1. This room has no air conditioning, so don't come when the weather is hot. 2. The window of this room is an inner window, facing the living room of the apartment. The customer service chat under the hall has breakfast. It is clear to enter and exit, and it is not very soundproof. 3. The room is old and the sanitation is very general, just at the level of domestic hotels. Environment: But this price is in this location, that's it, the room has an induction cooker and microwave tableware, you can simply cook something yourself, no kettle. It is close to polanco, I should not live here next time.

We had booked and received confirmation from this hotel 6 weeks prior to our arrival. We were willing to pay a premium price for a premium apartment. The confirmation letter described a 1 bedroom apartment with a balcony and outdoor furniture and a view. On arrival we were offered a smaller suite (not a one bedroom apartment) , a view of a cement wall, no balcony or outdoor seating on the ground floor. The explanation “ we are fully booked”! We were then brought to another of their properties (Hipolito) over 1 km away…an inferior property in a lesser location away from Lincoln Park. This apartment had mold in the bathroom, a malfunctioning toilet, broken lighting in the bedroom, no outdoor space, burners that did not work, dirty blinds etc. Photos are attached. Tennyson ignored my emails until we were leaving (4 nights). They never offered a solution and refuse compensation. I see that Tennyson can be an excellent hotel….But BEWARE… Others have posted a similar experience, so this is not a “one off”.

Las Alcobas was a perfect hotel. The service was excellent, the breakfast was spot on and the room itself was very luxurious. To say the least, my family very much enjoyed this spectacular hotel in the heart of Mexico City and would most certainly come here again! We were greeted warmly by the staff who never failed to please and when we were shown our room we were very content. The bathroom for starters was incredible. The shower had many different jets and the bath had a bubble bath setting which the staff filled with herbs and turned on very special led lights making the bath like heaven. The soaps were also amazing with many different herbs inside them. The room was lovely and there was a very generous complimentary mini fridge with a selection of food. In the morning there is also a lovely breakfast served with Mexican style eggs, pastries and hot beverages. This was all delicious. We would most certainly recommend visiting Teotihuacán, an ancient site of pyramids and a museum. We would also recommend eating at Taquería El Túrix for some amazing street food and Entremar for a fantastic buzzy, local scene. Overall this hotel was amazing, especially surrounded by such a lovely neighbourhood.

As someone who grew up in Mexico City, I definitely recommend Bemate Masaryk!! Polanco is one of, if not, the safest spaces in the city. You can walk with your child at any time and there is always people walking with dogs and children. Bemate is in the perfect area for walking to any local restaurants and boutiques. The biggest pointers of the hotel are the air conditioning, the great water pressure for the shower, and the staff are very accommodating and welcoming. Monse, our room attendant, always left the room clean and tidy and was very willing to work around our schedule. Definitely recommended.

Disliked · - We traveled with a 5yo, a 2yo and a 6mo. I emailed the property two months before our trip to make sure that they could provide us with 2 cribs/or pack and play, and they confirmed they had 2 available. However, when we arrived the cribs/pack & plays were not ready. When I asked the doorman/manager of the property, he was extremely rude and told me that he couldn't help me. It was late at night and I had no place for my infant and my toddler to sleep. I basically begged him to look for something, and 10 min later he brought up 2 pack & plays for me to put together. I did, but to my surprise both of them were broken and one of them didn't have a mattress. My toddler climbed out of the pack & plays 3 times during our stay, since one of the sides was completely bended. For my infant, I had to fold a comforter and put it in her pack & play so it could serve as a mattress. I contacted the property through Booking that night to tell them about the issues, and they did absolutely nothing. I just can't imagine a more stressful situation for a mother of 3 who just got the apartment and has to put her kids to bed. - We rented 2 apartments so my mom could help us with the kids. The apartments were located in 2 separate floors, despite the fact that we requested them to be next to each other. This defeated the whole purpose of having my mom helps us since the apartments were far from each other. - The apartments were not clean, the curtains were not black out curtains, and the beds/pillows were extremely uncomfortable. The toilet seats were incredibly worn out to the point that it was disgusting to seat on them. - The other major inconvenience was that the room keys did not work properly, so we had to have the doorman open the room for us on a regular basis, and there was one night when he wasn't happy about it and the situation got very uncomfortable.
