Professional staff. Walkable to mall, palace and decent restaurants. Reasonable value for value. Would be okay if less than 100 EUR a night.

An overall disappointing experience. I’ve stayed in several Indigo hotels in China and I had high expectations. But I didn’t understand how this hotel had the Indigo name - it felt like a budget hotel (though not budget prices). What’s more, as an IHG Ambassador I’m used to high levels of customer service - this was lacking at this hotel. There isn’t anything wrong with the hotel, it was clear and in a reasonably good area, but compared to other Indigo hotels it’s a disappointing experience.

Nice and clean. Slightly dated. No covered closet. Good that they provided complimentary water and toiletries when other bigger Spanish hotels didn’t.

The hotel is in a very convenient location. You can take subway Line 4 or Line 6 directly from the airport. There is also Line 3 at the door to Sun Palace Square. Opposite the hotel is a British Palace department store and a Zara. If you want to walk to the Sun Palace, it only takes 30 minutes and you can take a leisurely stroll. It is recommended to buy breakfast at the hotel. The dining area has a good environment and the meals provided basically satisfy our stomachs. In the case of not knowing much Spanish, the hotel's breakfast is the best choice!

The hotel is in a good location, with a small supermarket next door and two bakeries nearby that are also delicious.
The hotel is very cost-effective in Madrid.
But the bathroom in the room has a bad smell (probably because we live on the first floor)

The room is not big, but the location is very good, and you can walk to the main attractions of Madrid. There are not many varieties of breakfast, but the ham and meat products are delicious.

It's about a three-star hotel. The room facilities are relatively simple and the mattress will move. The gym is very small and lacks management. The variety and quality of breakfast are relatively poor, and the cost performance is very low.

The hotel is in a good location and is very convenient for travel, but the room is small;
Environment: Overall clean; the decoration style is very retro and has a British feel~
But the breakfast is average and there are not many varieties

The hotel is in the city center, with many restaurants around. You can basically walk to nearby attractions. Plaza de España and the Royal Palace are not far away. I would like to recommend this MD restaurant, which has good local characteristics.

I stayed at this Hotel Indigo in Madrid for 3 nights. This Hotel Indigo is really just a 3-star hotel, not even as good as some Holiday Inn Express hotels in China. I had the worst experience in 20 years when I checked in. I booked through Ctrip this time, not through IHG channels, so even though I am an IHG Diamond Ambassador member, I was not given any free breakfast or room upgrade, which made me very upset. I fully understand that booking through non-IHG official channels does not count room nights and points, and room upgrades also depend on the availability of rooms on the day, but they didn't give me free breakfast, which really made me unacceptable and unhappy. As an IHG Diamond Ambassador, I have stayed in IHG-affiliated hotels in China, Southeast Asia, the United States, and France (mainly InterContinental, a small number of Crowne Plaza and Hotel Indigo), and I have never encountered such treatment. If they don't give it, then don't give it, I don't necessarily eat it. As a result, I was given two rooms, one was not cleaned at all, and the other was cleaned but there were obvious signs of lying on the bed. I went back to the front desk and argued with the only staff at the front desk. The guy just said, "Sorry, wait for us for 15 minutes, and we will clean it for you in 15 minutes." I was furious at the time and immediately questioned him, "Can you clean a room in 15 minutes? Change the sheets, clean the table, clean the floor, and clean the bathroom? Is this the standard of Indigo? Is the standard of IHG hotels so low?" Considering the work efficiency of the Spanish, this is almost impossible. I said, call your manager to me, and he said that the manager was off work (local time at around 6 pm). I complained to IHG's European customer service phone and also to Ctrip's customer service. Here, I want to praise Ctrip's customer service. There are always people following up. Although the actual problem is limited, I feel more comfortable at least. IHG's customer service has not followed up since I called for more than 20 minutes. It took more than an hour from arriving at the hotel at 5:30 pm to actually checking into the room. The two elderly people in their 70s who were with me waited for more than an hour after a long journey.
The next morning, at 9:50 am, I went to the front desk to ask if their manager had arrived? The front desk said the manager hadn't arrived yet. I told him to call your current on-site person in charge. An elderly male staff member came and said, "I'm sorry, you didn't book through IHG channels, so we can't give you free breakfast." I asked him, are you the manager? He said he wasn't. I was very angry at the time. I said, ****, I'm not asking you about breakfast, I'm asking you about giving me such a dirty room. As an IHG Diamond Ambassador, is this how I'm treated? This guy probably saw that I was not easy to mess with, so he went to call his manager in dejection. The manager was a delicate, elderly white lady who spoke very politely, but at first she was just trying to pass the buck, saying, "You didn't book through IHG channels, so we can't give you free breakfast." I was furious at the time, and I asked her, "Have you read the content of my complaint? How did your people report my complaint to you? Do you know your hygiene conditions?" Maybe my voice was too loud, and there were many people in the lobby after all, so she said let's go to my office to talk. OK, I'll give you this face. When I arrived at her office, I found that she was very good at shifting the blame. The main points were as follows: 1. She shifted the blame to the cleaning staff: We just changed the cleaning supplier in July, and they are not doing their job well (please note that the cleaning is actually a third-party company, and they may not be able to take up the job without adequate management or training). 2. She shifted the blame to the front desk: She said that the front desk staff’s service was unprofessional, they gave you unclean rooms and did not give you free breakfast. It was his problem, and I would fine him (I immediately told him that this was his problem as the person in charge of this hotel. You did not manage and train your employees well, and you did not even give them the basic customer-first concept and the authorization to meet the basic requirements of customers). 3. Blame it on Indigo: She said that Indigo is not like other hotels under IHG (InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Kingston), where the differences between different hotels are small. Some places in Indigo are 4 stars, some places are 3 stars, and our hotel is 3 stars, so it may be different from your expectations (**, does this imply that my own requirements are too high, can the clean rooms provided to customers be different?).
Finally, the solution is option 1) either cancel my stay at this Indigo and change me to another Indigo; option 2) either give me free breakfast Meals and hotel points as compensation. Since I was traveling with my family (especially two 70-year-olds), I just didn't want to bother, so I chose Option 2. This Indigo gave me two free breakfasts and three nights of room points (because I was a diamond ambassador, I naturally got double the bonus points).
Ctrip was very sincere and refunded part of the room fee to my Ctrip wallet, and followed up with the hotel to see if my points were fully compensated. I have to be very sure of Ctrip's customer service. However, for Ctrip, I still have to make the following suggestions: 1. There is a big gap in communication between Ctrip and the hotel, and its influence on the partner hotels is relatively weak; 2. The product functions on the Ctrip page also need to be improved. For hotels that do not recognize that booking through the Ctrip channel can also enjoy the different levels of membership rights of the hotel group, there should be obvious signs.
The last picture is after I changed the room, I wiped the bed sheet with disinfectant wipes, and the marks on the disinfectant wipes did not look very clean.

The room is relatively small, suitable for business trips or travel alone, and can barely be used by couples, but not recommended for families unless just for a nap. The location is very good, opposite the British Palace and the subway station, close to Plaza de España and Gran Via, and within walking distance. But the hotel is a bit noisy on the street, so be careful if you like quiet. In addition, the breakfast is not bad, freshly squeezed orange juice, coffee, milk, croissants and scrambled eggs are all available, but I am a little disappointed that there is no Spanish specialty churros, and there is no kettle in the room, which may be a bit inconvenient for Chinese people.

The location is excellent, with the subway and commercial district just outside, and a coffee and bakery across the street. It's also acceptable to walk to Plaza de España and the Royal Palace of Madrid, which takes more than 20 minutes. The room is not big, but it's clean and the decoration is simple and clear.

The hotel is in the city center, close to the subway station, and the British Palace is also a good place for shopping. Although the room is not big, the mattress of Indigo is comfortable to sleep on. It also comes with a free mini bar.
