Hotels in Barkhor Street/Jokhang Temple, Lhasa

I really liked this hotel. The room was excellent, very spacious and clean. There were welcome snacks: milk tablets, milk jujubes, and a highland barley milk pastry, two each day. They were perfect for replenishing energy. The bed was large and very comfortable; it didn't shake much when I turned over. The room had an oxygen concentrator, a humidifier, a tea set, and a kettle. The bathroom's sound insulation was pretty good, and there was shampoo and even conditioner, though I didn't dare wash my hair as I still felt cold from a bit of altitude sickness while showering. The hotel's ground floor and hallways were decorated with great character, and there were dedicated parking spaces right outside. A security guard was present to maintain order and ensure guests could park their cars. The hotel's location is good, a 15-minute walk to Jokhang Temple and 30 minutes to Potala Palace. We checked in after the peak season, so the price was slightly more flexible, making the overall value for money excellent! A great experience.

-Excellent location: Most of these B&B hotels are located near Barkhor Street. The lively street of Barkhor Street is just a few steps away from the Jokhang Temple. It takes about15-20 minutes to walk to the Potala Palace. - Convenient transportation: There are many bus lines around, and the transportation is very convenient for tourists arriving in Lhasa by plane. Facilities and environment: Many B&B hotels retain the original Tibetan architectural style, and the century-old buildings are matched with Tibetan wood carvings, furniture, etc., full of historical charm and ethnic customs.  -Clean and tidy: most B&B hotels pay great attention to hygiene and cleanliness. The sheets and quilts in the room are replaced in time. The bathroom is clean and odorless. The public areas are also cleaned very diligently. Warm and thoughtful: most of the staff at the hotel are hospitable and can take the initiative to help tourists, such as helping with luggage, introducing surrounding attractions and food.

Service: The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel truly at home. Facilities: The hotel boasts excellent facilities. Our room was spotlessly clean and tidy, the bed was very comfortable, and both the air conditioning and hot water supply worked perfectly. Environment: The hotel's surroundings are absolutely beautiful and pleasant, featuring lovely gardens that create a truly relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. Cleanliness: The room was impeccably clean, and the bedding was fresh and neat. Overall: We were impressed with every aspect of this hotel and highly recommend staying here.

This hotel completely exceeded my expectations. The convenience factor is off the charts, way beyond five stars! Right outside, there's an abundance of food and shops, truly bursting with local flavor. In the mornings, you'll see many people trading caterpillar fungus, often much cheaper than in stores. Evenings bring fresh vegetables and fruits, incredibly fresh, along with local snacks. You absolutely have to try the yogurt! Next door to the hotel is a very clean restaurant. The owner is super nice and will even give you extra noodles for your dish. Their pickled radish is especially delicious. The hotel owner is incredibly warm and welcoming. We booked a standard room, but he upgraded us to a family room – a really spacious one! He also told us about local customs and traditions, which was very kind. And there's a Labrador named Kara, she's absolutely adorable and very friendly!

I saw this place online for a holiday trip and decided to check in. It didn't disappoint me. First of all, I really like the environment here. It's clean and sanitary. It's equipped with disposable towels and bath towels, which is very considerate. Secondly, the service is also very good. Free laundry, oxygen supply and humidification are turned on in advance (the most comfortable hotel I stayed in Tibet, the oxygen diffusion is in place, and the humidification is also in place). In short, I am very satisfied. I like the decoration style of this store very much. If you like Chinese and simple styles, you can go for it. Handmade ******* souvenirs: very heartwarming

Staff was super friendly and helpful, location was superb and we got some nice welcome fruit and souvenir from their 2/Fl shop it was a great experience. 小周 even took time to show us around the best spots around the hotel.

The room was spotless, and the view of the Potala Palace from here was absolutely breathtaking. The hotel is perfectly situated right behind and to the right of the Potala Palace, making my windowsill my 'personal viewing platform': At midday, wisps of clouds drifted across its white walls and golden roofs, as if a breathing quilt was draped over the ancient palace; In the evening, the setting sun painted the Red Palace a honeyed hue, and as prayer flags fluttered in the wind, they seemed like countless hands applauding it; The moment the night lights came on, the entire palace suddenly 'came alive' – like an ancient ship moored in the darkness, carrying the stories of the Tubo Dynasty, slowly sailing towards the myriad lights of modern Lhasa. The complimentary biscuits were delicious, and the other snacks were great too! The butler and front desk service were warm and attentive. I arrived close to 2 PM, having not yet eaten, and the small eatery they recommended – the third shop after turning right from the hotel – was absolutely delightful.

The service is the worst of all hotels where we have stayed worldwide. It is worse than even any 1-star rated hotel in China. Right from the entry, the check in is chaotic. No one attends to luggage. It takes 2 hours to do formalities and return passports. In Room dining, the order is a huge challenge. They take 2 hours to take order and deliver the food after 1 hour, when they serve only the food in a plate. No seperate dishes or any cutliaries (spoon or fork or chopsticks ... nothing provided). When you point these out, they say sorry and take another 1 hour to bring plates, chop sticks etc. BY now 5 hours passed and food is so cold and not eatable. This is a regular scenario ... repeated 3 times, I.e. everything we placed an order. It's a huge challenge. On amenities, the beds are extremely uncomfortable. If you just take a turn while sleeping, the other person is sure to wake up. They call king size bed .. it's two seperate beds kept side by side with cheap quality spring mattress. On breakfast, it's very limited and every day same menu. No varieties, the food taste is horrible as well. Extremely bad experience.for the price that is paid. The feeling has been a complete waste of money, sleepless nights, staying hugry and waiting for food post order for 5.hours every time we ordered room dining. The same situation in restaurent as well.

Upon entering the hotel, staff immediately offered us Rhodiola tea, which is said to help alleviate altitude sickness. The hotel breakfast was exceptionally plentiful, featuring *******, Chinese, and Western options. There's also a cafe on the first floor that offers a wide variety of meals. A self-service laundry room is conveniently located on the 4th floor, equipped with detergent, hangers, and dryers – a real plus for travelers. The hotel also offers a complimentary shuttle service, providing free drop-offs to city attractions such as Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street, and Norbulingka. Additionally, they offer complimentary pick-up and drop-off services for the train station and the airport bus station. The hotel staff were incredibly accommodating, attending to virtually all our requests. We are very grateful to everyone who assisted us during our stay. We would definitely choose this hotel again on our next visit to Lhasa!
