Kumamoto Hotel Castle Reviews

Good if you like old school charm hotel, room and service. Castle view room was a disappointment - have to stand at the side of the window to actually see the castle :( Location was great and parking was onsite. There’s a driveway at the front of the hotel and from there, the staff guided us to their onsite parking. It’s as advertised JPY1000 per day but on day of checkout, parking is until 11.30am. After that, cheaper to park elsewhere (JPY100 for 15mins vs JPY200 for 2hrs at Kumamoto Castle).

The room is excellent. We selected the castle view that very nice. Price is reasonable.

An old hotel with a good location for tourists to explore and shop. The room was small but spacious enough to fit two large suitcases. The view was not good due to the small window and the old-fashioned window paper covering it. The staff was efficient but a bit reserved in their interactions.

Great Location and nice staffs are covering the old fashioned facilities which had been 60 years since its establishment. I love all of this hotel including the breakfast. Japanese style breakfast is recommended. Thank you all staffs who supported me during my stay.

Value for money. Although some of the grouting between joints on toilet floor wares off, the room is clean and well kept considering its age. We even got the view of the castle through the window.

The hotel lobby was really nice and grand. The room was also very big and spacious. The hotel is located close to shopping streets, making it convenient to walk around without a car. Do note that there is an extra charge of 1000 Yen for parking of your car at the hotel. The only gripe was that the room was abit stuffy. We tried to change the settings of the air conditioner, but it didn't work after a few minutes.

Lovely hotel and quiet place. You also can find many good shops nearby. I will book once I visit Kumamoto.

Great location with couple of restaurants nearby. Thought hotel abit outdated but the room is cleaned. The staffs are very sincere as well. Do note the parking space are limited to just infront of hotel space.

Location is great. Near the castle with a short walk and other tourist spots. Room is clean and comfortable.

Very nice hotel, great staff, conveniently located in Kumamoto. Our only regret was to spend only a night, the city of Kumamoto is really enchanting and has amazing food.
