"Dai-ichi Takimotokan was definitely one of the highlights of my trip. The onsen was amazing — very spacious with a wide variety of baths, each with different features. It never felt too crowded, which made the whole experience even more relaxing. Noboribetsu ended up being my favorite place in Hokkaido. I was lucky enough to experience it while it was snowing, and the scenery was absolutely beautiful and unforgettable. There are also some great food options nearby — I found a local gyoza restaurant that was surprisingly delicious! Overall, a truly memorable stay. I would definitely come back again."

"Facilities: Absolutely fantastic! Cleanliness: As expected from a Japanese hotel, impeccable. Ambiance: Elegant. Service: Warm and welcoming. This hotel was our first stop on our trip to Japan and it completely exceeded our expectations. Although it was a bit pricey, my family of three all agreed it was worth every penny. It honestly made all the subsequent hotels on our trip feel just 'okay' in comparison. We chose the 'one night, two meals' plan, and the D-type room came with a hot spring bath. The sushi at dinner was incredible – far better than what you'd get at a high-end restaurant in a major city (where you'd pay around 1300 JPY per person), and even better than the sushi we had in Sapporo and Tokyo. Breakfast was extensive, and the staff were incredibly polite and enthusiastic. We will definitely be back and will book the same hotel and room type again. This is the first hotel I've ever felt compelled to recommend; it's so much better than anything you'd find back home! It's rare to find a hotel that makes you want to linger and return."

"The hotel is situated far up in the mountain side of Noboribetsu but we drove so it was convenient and the hotel offered free parking. We chose a room with a private open air bath which was certainly the highlight of the stay as it was snowing outside. The room is spacious and clean, the only complaint was the heavy smoke smell in the bathroom when the room was no smoking. We notified the hotel and they changed our room immediately. The buffet dinner and buffet breakfast was served in the 3rd floor, we were seated next to huge floor to ceiling windows which was a treat to see snowing landscape. They had a large range of food but the taste could better compared to other hotel buffets we had on our Hokkaido trip. Overall I would recommend this hotel and would certainly return in the future."

"The price was reasonable. It's about a kilometer uphill from the main shopping street, but we drove and appreciated the parking lot. There's a pretty little waterfall behind the parking area. Both breakfast and dinner were buffet style, and the food was just average. If you stay two nights in a row, they offer sweet shrimp on the second day. The Japanese-style room was standard and reasonably clean. We reserved a private onsen via email for 3300 yen. The experience was just okay, and I felt the public bath was better. With a 50-minute time limit, it felt a bit rushed."

"as a 1st time staying at an onsen resort, it was an amazing stay! reception is very friendly & also came to prepare our futons for us at around evening room : spacious for 2, cleaniness is acceptable but can be improved [9/10] location : good central location, but considering it was winter & we had heavy luggages, the bus terminal was a little far (5min walk) [9/10] miku & I enjoyed our stay! ありがとうございます！"

"Everything was great, except for the slightly hard slippers. The crab with ponzu sauce for dinner and the sweet shrimp for breakfast were absolutely delicious! After a soak in the hot spring, my skin felt so smooth. They had a wide variety of shampoos, mostly Pola, and also a hot spring water hair conditioner. I liked it so much I bought it directly from the hotel shop, it was even cheaper than Taobao resellers. Some of the hotel's little decorations were really cute. You can ask the front desk to book a free shuttle to the bear farm."

"This hotel is an annex of Dai-ichi Takimotokan, leaning towards a hostel style, making it a top choice for value. Self check-in and check-out, with a late check-out time of 10 AM the next day, offer great convenience and flexibility. The only minor drawback is its popularity, which means a bit of a queue during check-in. Breakfast and dinner are not included; you can buy bread and coffee from a cafe for breakfast. The hotel does not provide coffee, snacks, or similar services. The rooms are renovated from an old hotel, but everything is newly decorated and equipped, clean and tidy, offering a great experience. There's a small onsen on the first floor, usually empty, which is very convenient for a quick soak. With your room key, you can access the large onsen at Dai-ichi Takimotokan across the street. If you're looking for a great hot spring experience, choosing this hotel offers the best value. However, Dai-ichi Takimotokan is quite old, so its facilities might seem dated compared to new-style hot spring hotels in China. Its fame outweighs the actual experience, but the hot springs are genuinely authentic. The location is absolutely unbeatable: a few minutes' walk to Noboribetsu Hell Valley, and only seven to eight minutes from Noboribetsu Onsen Central/Main Station. Downstairs, there's a supermarket, 7-Eleven, and restaurants, right on the hot spring street, making travel, dining, and shopping incredibly convenient. It's a fifteen-minute bus ride to Noboribetsu JR Station, but you need to arrive early as there can be a queue. Overall, this hotel in Noboribetsu offers maximum convenience and is highly recommended for stays in the Hokkaido Tohoku region! As for Noboribetsu in general, it's decent; the scenery and attractions are good, but the hotels overall are a bit old, similar to those in Lake Toya. It's more famous than its actual offerings, and the value for money in terms of bath facilities can't compare to those in Tohoku."

"Flight was delayed and we could only check-in on the second day, thus forfeiting the first night. When we arrived, they helped with the luggage from our rented car. When we checked out, they called and reminded us that there was surcharge if we are 15 mins late promptly at 10am! We had no help at all to load our luggages and the place gave you a feeling that they are glad to see us off! But there's a very kind old lady who was very pleasant and helpful. The room we had was spacious as we have 2 beds and another room that can lay tatami beds. The place was pleasant but service is left to be desired from a Japanese establishment."

"Right next to the Noboribetsu Onsen bus stop, the location is excellent. The entire room has a very Japanese aesthetic, and the tatami mat area is spacious. The highlight, however, was the dinner – it was incredibly ceremonial, and the Kaiseki cuisine was exquisitely prepared with excellent service. Soaking in the hot springs at night was also very relaxing, with many different pools to choose from. There's a small outdoor onsen, and it was absolutely amazing to bathe in it while it was snowing heavily outside."

"The hostel is very close by, right outside the station. The front desk staff are friendly, fluent in English, and will show you around and help you upstairs to your bed. Self-check-in is not available, so please check in before 9 PM! The first floor is a common area with a kitchen, washing machine, shoe cabinet, and seating area. The second floor has a female room, a mixed-gender room, and separate male and female toilets. You must remove your shoes before going upstairs, so the room is very clean! The wooden floors in the room look quite cozy, but they may be a bit old and noisy when walking. You can also hear noise from the next room while sleeping, but free earplugs are provided. There's only one power outlet by the bed, so an extension cord is recommended. The hallway is small, so it's not recommended to bring suitcases; backpacks may have to be placed on the bed. Breakfast is provided: thick toast, various jams, coffee, fresh milk, and cereal. 👍🏻 Luggage storage is free; the front desk staff will arrange for you to store your luggage. 👍🏻"
