"A really nice resort hotel. The room was spacious, and the private onsen bath was very clean. The peculiar smell was likely from the tatami mats. We had the hotel's set menu for breakfast but didn't have dinner at the hotel. The supermarket next to Izu Kogen Station offers abundant sashimi, enough to eat your fill. The photos show the places we visited during our stay, and it was all very relaxing. Having seen some less favorable reviews, let me share my own experience. The hotel's occupancy is highly seasonal, so there might not be many staff members, but they all provided attentive service. During our stay, the station pick-up and drop-off service was always well-arranged. When I'm on vacation, I prefer to relax and not be disturbed, so I opted out of daily room cleaning. I've stayed at some older Japanese-style hotels, similar to those in areas like Shikoku's Oboke, and this level of service is pretty typical. Of course, perhaps I just haven't visited enough Japanese resort hotels to generalize. Overall, I highly recommend staying here. Don't set your expectations too high, but it delivers on all the essentials for a relaxing getaway."

"The hotel is a 5-minute drive from Izu-Inatori Station, and they provide a shuttle service. It's also not far from Izu Omuroyama, which is accessible by train. Overall, it offers great value for money. However, the wardrobes and futon closets in the room had a strong, unpleasant odor, like some kind of insecticide. The room did boast an unbeatable direct ocean view, and it was lovely to enjoy tea on the balcony. I booked a two-night stay with breakfast and dinner included, and honestly, by the end, I was a bit tired of the food because the portions were simply too large. Even breakfast included sashimi, but the quality of the sashimi was just average, and there was no salmon. If you're looking to experience it, I'd suggest booking just one night with meals. Although the menu changes slightly each day, you can find much better food by dining out. Hotel service was excellent, and they even offered a souvenir. I witnessed a guest leave their bag in the car, and the driver went out of his way to deliver it to the train platform, asking everyone until he found the owner. Very nice of them!"

"The sea view is unbeatable, and it's a 5-6 minute walk from the station. They offer a shuttle service to the station upon checkout, by appointment. A centipede ran into my room... but they changed my room when I requested it, which was fine. I stayed for three days, and the breakfast was decent. The service was typical Japanese, meaning you couldn't really find any fault with it. The biggest surprise was on the day of checkout: there was a huge typhoon in Izu, all trains were stopped. While we were feeling helpless at the station, a hotel front desk staff member arrived! They told us that because we had previously booked a shuttle, they were taking us to the larger Izu-Kogen station! I was so touched! That's truly Japanese service, solving an urgent problem! Overall, it was really good!"

"This hotel is perfectly located right by the sea, offering a fantastic environment. Transportation is also quite convenient, with a shuttle bus running between the hotel and Kawazu Station. The breakfast was just okay. If you plan to have dinner, it's definitely best to book in advance. We didn't make a reservation this time and ended up being turned away by both restaurants because they were full. There was nowhere else to eat nearby, so we had to resort to instant noodles."

"The scenery is excellent, there are small beaches and seaside parks around, and the rooms are big enough. There is only one restaurant in the hotel, and the breakfast and Italian buffet dinner are very good. The old resort hotel is remodeled, the room facilities are okay, the bathroom facilities should still be old, and the bathroom is too small. The service also belongs to the style of a western-style resort hotel. There are not many staff, and there will be no one at the front desk all the time. It is difficult to communicate in English, but there is a young man who can speak Chinese. There are daily blackboard forecasts for tides and cruise ships. Dinner is not open on Wednesdays. Fortunately, there are several restaurants around the hotel that can still meet the demand, but there is only one sushi restaurant open for dinner... The important thing is that there is also a 711. The hotel's lounge (a small bar) is open all day, with a lot of alcoholic drinks and few snacks. Although there is no good wine, it has rich tastes and is worth trying. The hotel's pools should not be hot springs. The balcony bathtub is a bit small, and the selling point is still the scenery."

"We had a truly wonderful stay at Ittouan. The experience was exceptional from beginning to end. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. They noticed us from far away and immediately came to help carry our luggage. One of the staff members, a lovely young lady who spoke excellent English, was especially helpful and made communication very easy. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask her name, but I would like to thank her again. We booked both dinner and breakfast, and the meals were fantastic. The ingredients were very fresh and the variety was impressive. Every dish was different and beautifully prepared. However, for two women like us, the portions were honestly quite generous — even sharing one meal between two people might have been enough! The location is excellent. The hotel provides a free shuttle to Kawazu Station, which makes it extremely convenient for visiting the Kawazu cherry blossoms. It is also very close to the beautiful coastline, so the surroundings are lovely. Our room had a private onsen bath where we could soak while enjoying the view of cherry blossoms, which was a truly special experience. There is also a larger private bath available by reservation (free of charge). We also tried the hot stone spa, which was incredibly effective in relieving the fatigue after my marathon. Overall, it was a fantastic stay. I would love to come back again in the future, hopefully with my family.

"The onsen room isn't huge but it's very clean and the water is excellent. Soaking twice a day, once in the morning and once at night, really does feel healthy. The food is great. The hotel is located by the sea, but there's no beach. You can see trains heading to Shimoda passing by. In the lobby, there's a fish pond with large koi, and for 100 yen, you can buy food from a dispenser to feed them. The hotel offers a convenient shuttle service to the train station; when you get off the train, you'll see a hotel representative with a sign right outside the platform. Overall, it's a very good choice."

"Perhaps it will be useful for someone to know more about the location of the hotel. I searched for options by filter for the city of Ito, but this hotel is not there at all. Nevertheless, I do not regret that I did not change my plans and came here. Izu no Ne and several neighboring hotels are located approximately in the middle between the onsen of Atagawa and Katase. You can get here both by local trains with transfers and by the comfortable express Odoriko. And if Ito, where I initially wanted to go, is a lively resort, then this is an excellent option for those who, on the contrary, want to get away from the city. Nearby, in Atagawa, there is a sandy beach where, depending on the season, you can swim. In September it was very warm, although there were decent waves. The Japanese-style room is clean, cozy and comfortable, and most importantly, spacious. The panoramic window overlooks the sea, and the windows face east — you won’t see sunsets anyway because of the mountains, but sunrises in all their glory are guaranteed. I can’t compare with other ryokans, but in terms of service, of course, everything is excellent. Be sure to book with meals — breakfast and kaiseki-style dinner are no less tempting and interesting a reason to come here than the hot springs. By the way, about the springs: there are both public (men’s and women’s separately) and private baths, indoors and outdoors (also with a sea view). A private bath on the roof must be booked in advance at the reception (at no extra charge), and although I’ve been there a couple of times, it was more convenient to just go to the public one whenever you want. The baths are closed at night and during the day from ten to three for cleaning. It seems that these onsen in general and the hotel in particular are not very popular, and few people come here, but it’s a shame! I would gladly come back here again."

GGuest UserThe hotel is by the sea, the room faces the sea, there is a private bath on the terrace, there is a shower, the shower water is very big and hot. It's my first time to open my eyes in the morning and take a bath to see the sea. The food is very exquisite, and the Japanese service is very good. Each room can make an appointment for a private customization of the first-floor hot spring ♨️ for 45 minutes at night. After the bath, you can also enjoy local milk and massage chairs, all for free. The few hundred yuan tax for the private bath is not included. It is a hot spring hotel worth visiting twice. Recommended!

MM519193****Super satisfied! There is a special butler who is responsible for your diet and other arrangements every day. It is a Vietnamese lady. The English is very fluent. It will also have a little Chinese. The service is very good. Especially worth mentioning is that the dinner is particularly good. The ingredients are fresh. All kinds of seafood lobster sashimi. The abalone is oversized. The taste is really good. The price is full. Our room type is a balcony with foot soup. It is very special. It is very comfortable to watch the maple leaves in the courtyard. The hotel has private soup and public soup. Private soup needs to be reserved at one time every day. Free tea every day. Ice cream and milk are provided. The only possible location is relatively remote. It is not convenient for tourists who are not self-driving. There is no reception at the front desk when we first entered the check-in, which caused us to find a long time. But the whole is really good, very recommended

SSarah GraceWe had an amazing 1 night stay at Shizentenyu... i'm still dreaming about the view from our room and the restaurant... amazing!!! We didn't realize that our room included a full 7-course set dinner menu, which was one of the highlights from our trip! The service was impecable, food delicious, and a huge thank-you to Alfie who guided us through our set menu in English. We would have been very confused without him. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, the Onsen lovely, we appreciated the lounge with free coffee, tea, beer, and popsicles. We also braved the steep walk down to the private beach and went for a refreshing swim! We wish we could have stayed longer!

GGuest UserThis place is located at Izu-Ōkawa Station, which is a bit off the beaten path for a transport hub in the East Izu area. The hotel offers a shuttle service, which you can book in advance via email or phone. The front desk has a ********* lady who speaks Chinese and is very helpful, answering any questions you might have. The food is quite good, and there are two large outdoor private onsens where you can see stars on a clear night. However, if you want to see a lot of stars, you should head to Ōshima or a nearby island. The room size is standard; in Japanese-style rooms, staff will lay out futons as there are no beds. The tatami mats are very new and have that unique new tatami smell. The private onsen in the room is also nice for a soak. If you're interested, there's also a wild hot spring by the sea – just Google it. You'll find a Lawson convenience store a short walk along the coastline. Overall, apart from the slightly remote location, there aren't any major drawbacks.

GGuest UserThe room is ok, the location is ok, there are many delicious restaurants nearby, and I especially recommend the fried rice with egg at the nearby Itoshima-ya, which is perfect. However, the service of the hotel itself is very average. None of the 6 inquiry emails I sent received a reply, and the person on the other end of the phone couldn't speak English and couldn't communicate. For house cleaning, you even need to go out and make an appointment with the front desk every day. The cleaning time that the front desk confirmed with us when you checked in was not shown at all, and we had to find the cleaning lady on our own initiative. We looked around the house and found only one plug for charging. Fortunately, we brought our own socket, otherwise we wouldn't be able to charge even a basic amount of electricity. The hot springs are also average, the pool is not big, and there are not many types. In short, Izu is great and I will come again, even if it is just for the fried eggs, but I will never book this hotel again. I believe there will be better choices.

GGuest UserThe hotel is not far from the station, about 5 minutes walk down. The clerk can speak English and did not meet the Chinese clerk. The hotel is a traditional Japanese-style room, very clean and comfortable. There is a pick-up station service, because there is no large luggage, so I don't use ~ The hotel's hot spring water is nearly 100 degrees of source water, and the private soup in the room needs to be cooled to adjust the temperature. The public open-air private soup temperature is suitable, equipped with a steam room, so it is not used in the morning. Breakfast and dinner are very rich, upgraded dinner with beef barbecue, the dishes are delicious, really full! After watching the day in the morning, I went out to the hot springs and cooked the hot spring eggs to bring back to the hotel bibimbap. It was a very special experience. I recommend it to friends who want to come to Izu to play! !

GGuest UserThis is a bit worn out and simple hotel. The best things were the extremely friendly and helpful staff, as well as the super delicious dinner & breakfast that was included in the price. I ate maybe the most delicious croissant ever here. The variety and the quality of food was great. Things to improve are  the facilities, especially the onsen. It’s very small but more importantly, it wasn’t well maintained and there was no emergency button. When my mom felt like fainting, it wasn’t possible to call for help.  Also the air conditioner in the room was very loud, making it difficult to sleep. All in all, good stay.

GGuest UserWe had a delicious and fun time with the family. The private beach was also wonderful. If it was summer swimming season, the waves would be calm and it would be easy for children to play there. It was the last weekend of March during spring break, but the hotel was well thought out and didn't feel crowded, which was nice. The freshly fried tempura in the dining area and the fried bread for breakfast were very popular and delicious. However, the smell of oil permeated the yukata and hair I was wearing, so I felt like taking a bath and washing my hair again after the meal. I think it would be difficult, but if the ventilation environment was good, it would be perfect! That's how I felt.

GGuest UserWe were really taken aback by how nice the entire experience was at the cost, private bath, onsen, and the facilities were a delight. The photos did not do the rooms justice. Beautiful and practical. Nice staff as well. Dinner buffet was delicious as well, we went back for seconds.  The town was gorgeous, great workout, and the locals were very friendly although it’s hard to get to neighbouring areas without a car and the nearby shops are often only open for one or a few days of the week which means you should be careful in your planning if you want to eat out of the hotel in a place that is not a konbini.

However, note that the hotel is in the middle of a mountain. If you don’t drive, you have to rely on the car service which the hotel offers (free of charge but not always available). It is almost impossible to go by foot. However, I must say the hotel staff has always tried their best to cater your needs, which I appreicate very much.
