"Three of us friends decided last minute to visit Tongren for the May Day holiday, and I can't believe how great this hotel turned out to be! First off, its location is excellent, really close to the old town and other attractions. There's even a super popular beef noodle shop nearby that always has a queue. Secondly, the service was absolutely fantastic! As soon as our car pulled up, the bellhop proactively took our luggage to the front desk. When we checked in, the lady at the front desk noticed there were three of us but only two complimentary breakfasts, so she immediately offered to add an extra one! And honestly, the breakfast at the hotel ended up being the best meal I had during my entire trip to Tongren! After checking in, I was waiting for my friends on the sofa, and I think it was the lobby manager who noticed my friend and I had a bit of a cold. They proactively asked if we'd like some ginger tea to warm up and shake off the chill. Seriously, the service here is beyond words, just absolutely amazing! With this level of service and ambiance, I'll only stay at this hotel whenever I visit Tongren in the future. I completely forgot to take photos of the hotel itself, so I only have a shot of the view from the window during the day – it was truly lovely!"

The facilities are quite new, featuring a smart toilet and a large bathtub, which really enhanced the experience. The front desk staff were warm and polite, and very efficient. Breakfast offered a good variety and tasted delicious. It's located right above a shopping mall, making dining and shopping super convenient, and parking is free. As an international brand, the quality is definitely there, and it offers great value for money. Staying here in Tongren is completely stress-free – highly recommended!"

"The location is great, with a large supermarket downstairs where I stocked up on a lot of things. Xiao Zhou's service was warm and thoughtful, always putting guests first. The room was quite spacious, and the interior decor and amenities were decent. What's really worth mentioning is how quiet it was – I couldn't hear any outside noise or sounds from the hallway, and the air conditioning was very quiet too. Breakfast was especially generous with a wide variety, including several local Tongren specialties. However, it would be even better if there was a coffee machine."

The construction area of Nancheng Courtyard is about 2,600 square meters. The rooms are divided into four main courts: east, south, west and north. "Facilities: The facilities are pretty good, but some things aren't very practical, like the lighting being too dim and the light switches not being well-placed. Environment: The design is beautiful; the old house renovation is very tastefully done. The room style is minimalist yet well-designed. Cleanliness: There were some cleanliness issues; the blanket had some stains. Service: The housekeeper contacted us in advance and recommended some good local restaurants. However, they might be short-staffed as the front desk was often unattended. One issue was that the room was very large, but there was heavy rain that night, and the toilet leaked. It's an old house, so it's understandable, but it still needs to be repaired promptly."

"Having stayed in many hotels, this one has the best value for money! The facilities aren't new, so I wouldn't recommend it for tourists looking for a relaxing vacation. However, I highly recommend it for those on a budget who want a comfortable place to stay. The room had everything you'd expect. It looked a bit old, but it was just worn, not dirty (as anyone who's stayed in an old house knows). It was cleaned quite well. The shower pipe in my room was slightly broken and leaked, but the hot water was plentiful, so showering wasn't a problem. The breakfast was simple, just a regular breakfast, but definitely not bad! It was much more convenient than finding a breakfast shop in the cold winter mornings. Two days they served porridge, vegetables, and steamed buns, and on the last day they served freshly made noodles and rice noodles. I ate one bowl but wasn't full, so I asked for another. The staff were also very friendly. The most important thing is! The room was really nice! Large! The bathroom wasn't cramped either! And the mattress was very thick! I stayed for four days, and this spacious room was still the most comfortable. Perhaps because the room was large and far away, there was very little noise. Overall, the stay was good, and even though I'm not a big sleeper, I slept quite well. So far, the only hotels I've stayed in that have been more comfortable than this one are four-star hotels. However, four-star hotels are expensive, so this one is more budget-friendly. Satisfied, five-star review. Wishing the hotel great success."

"The hotel's exterior is elegant and suitable for taking photos, but the rooms are just average. The cleanliness is so-so, with some food scraps left by previous guests on the floor in the corners. The overall layout of the rooms is a bit cramped. Because it's a garden-style building, it only has two or three floors and no elevator. If you have a lot of luggage, you have to walk a bit from the hotel lobby to your room, and the path is winding. You can only get to your room by going up the stairs. Another big problem for those who drive is that the parking lot is very small. Even in the off-season, the parking lot fills up quickly. If you arrive late, you have to park far away. Moreover, the parking spaces inside the hotel are very narrow and can only accommodate a few cars. In some spaces, two cars are parked behind each other, and there is no way for people to get out on either side. The left side is right next to a pillar, and the right side is right next to the car next to you. When the car next to you opens its door, it will definitely hit your car, otherwise you can't get in. You can imagine how narrow the parking spaces are. I originally booked two nights, but after staying one night, I canceled the one night and stayed at a hotel with a large parking lot instead."

SSuannuomiThe hotel is very close to the train station, and it only takes ten minutes to walk from the room to the train station. The lady boss is very considerate and will get up early to cook eggs for the guests. When checking out in the morning to catch the train, the boss enthusiastically reminded me not to forget to take the eggs, which was very touching. There are coffee and other drinks and small snacks and desserts available at the front desk. The room also provides a washing machine, a disinfection cabinet and a smart toilet. The price-performance ratio of this hotel is quite high. The only drawback is that the window sound insulation is a bit poor. You can hear the sound of the train, and wearing earplugs does not affect your sleep. The hotel has free parking, and it is very convenient to park and return the car when renting a car for a self-driving tour.

A babbling stream flowed in front, while silent mountains loomed behind. The courtyard was lush with greenery, exuding the scent of damp earth and the passage of time. Moss slowly spread along the flagstone path, and bamboo shadows swayed gently. Koi fish glided serenely in the pond, and the bell by the entrance chimed softly in the breeze, making you instinctively lighten your steps. This wasn't some contrived 'Chinese style,' but a place truly lived in. Their attentiveness was subtle but profound. Knowing roughly when we'd arrive, they'd already warmed the room, even the comforter was toasty. A wisp of sandalwood incense was slowly burning, and the tea set was neatly arranged, as if awaiting its owner's return. The moment I opened the door, my heart felt at ease. The furnishings inside reflected a restrained and tasteful Chinese aesthetic. Carved wooden window lattices, soaring double-leaf Chinese doors, and soft, warm lighting – each item seemed to have stepped out of an earlier time. Then she dug fresh fiddlehead ferns from the vegetable patch, still carrying the aroma of earth. There were also her homemade salted duck eggs, not overly salty, yet oily with just one bite. The firewood slowly burned, the soup in the pot gently simmered, and the aroma of the food gradually filled the air. That scent wasn't the refined fragrance of a restaurant, but the long-missed, comforting taste of home. This isn't just a 'chic' guesthouse; it’s far more touching than many of them. We felt genuinely blessed to stay at this lovely guesthouse for three nights. From the very beginning, the owner Mr. Zhang Haotian and his family made us feel completely at home; they were warm, engaging, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. The rooms are tastefully designed and thoughtfully laid out, perfectly sized for comfort. Our room offered a soothing view of the river, along with a private balcony; an ideal spot to relax with your favourite tea or coffee. The modern touches were impressive too, especially the high-tech sensor toilet, which added a pleasant surprise. The three-storey guesthouse is equipped with an elevator, a thoughtful convenience for guests with heavy luggage or those who may find climbing stairs challenging. Dinner, lovingly cooked by the family, was absolutely delicious, with generous portions that reflected both their hospitality and culinary skill. Every meal felt homely and satisfying. We only wish we had taken more and better photographs of the guesthouse. Without a doubt, this is one place we will return to. As for the enchanting Fanjing Mountain itself, the owner drove us to the scenic area entrance. He even offered to pick us up later, but we chose to walk back instead, enjoying the cool climate. Fanjing Mountain is magical in its own right. The steep cable car ride to the summit, which takes over 20 minutes, was an experience in itself, offering breathtaking views of the mountain ranges stretching endlessly around us. At the top stands the age-old Buddhist temple, serene and awe-inspiring, perfectly harmonising with its natural surroundings. We loved the guesthouse, we are very grateful to Mr. Zhang and his family for their kindness, and deeply thankful for the unforgettable experience at Fanjing Mountain. It was the perfect ending to a remarkable journey.

GGuest UserThe hotel is located at the entrance to the road leading to the fanjingshan scenic area. It will take you around a 15mins walk or so to reach the tourist centre where you can purchase your tickets to enter the park. The hotel is mostly aurrounded by fellow hotels and restaurants and a tiny weeny convenience stall just beside the hotel. The plump lady receptionist might sound crude but she is extremely friendly and helpful. The reception area is sparse but the room is defintely okay.not many guests when i was staying there. It is worth a stay though there is nothing much to do around the area and if your aim is just to visit fanjingshan

Before choosing a place, I hesitated about whether to stay closer to the scenic area entrance, but based on my experience, I would recommend staying directly in the village. It's more physically demanding for hiking, and meals are more convenient. The owner can pick you up and drop you off at the scenic area entrance. We also found out after arriving that you can arrange pick-up and drop-off services in Tongren city in advance, and the price is slightly cheaper than taking a taxi. The owners are very easy to talk to, so there's no need to worry about any disputes. Although the facilities aren't particularly high-end, it's worth the price.

GGuest UserOver the years, I've mostly opted for B&Bs when traveling. So, when I saw the spacious, stylish, and comfortable common areas at Huanlin, I was truly surprised. For a B&B, such amenities feel quite luxurious. The room itself is large with simple decor, comfortable bedding, and a full set of disposable toiletries. It also features smart home appliances throughout. Everything was pretty much perfect, except for the bathroom door not having a lock. The B&B is conveniently located, just a 10-15 minute walk from the scenic area entrance and the visitor center. The hostess was incredibly warm and welcoming. After our visit to Fanjing Mountain the next day, she even proactively helped us arrange transport to Tongren, cut us some watermelon, and invited us to share their homemade lunch. Beyond her excellent customer service, she was constantly busy with renovations for the outdoor space in the backyard. It's clear she's put a lot of heart into running this B&B, and I believe she'll bring even more wonderful improvements to Huanlin Courtyard.

AAdelyn The room was huge and well laid out, with a living room and two toilets, which made the stay very comfortable. A one-time-use bathtub cover was provided for hygiene, which I appreciated. The smart toilet bowl automatically opens the lid—though it still catches me off guard sometimes. I stayed for two nights. As part of my usual routine, I always check the TV and Wi-Fi functionality upon check-in, and I noticed that the TV in the bedroom was not working. I reported this to the reception, but it was not fixed during my stay. On the second night, there were inconsistent loud banging noises coming from the upper floor between 9–10 pm, which sounded like construction. This was also reported to the reception, and they sent a staff member to my room to check. She also heard the noise when I asked her to come inside the room, to my surprise the noise can only be heard in my room, not even outside the door. As I had just returned to the hotel at that time, I told her I would monitor the situation and inform her if the noise continued closer to my bedtime. She was apologetic and mentioned that she would look into the issue. I appreciated her effort, although the noise was disruptive and did affect my overall experience. The hotel is about a 30-minute drive to Tongren Railway Station and around 10 minutes to Tongren Ancient City. I would recommend this hotel if you’re only staying for a short period since there’s nothing much to do other than visiting the Fan Jing Shan Mountain (personal opinion). Side note: bed quality is indeed good, just nice for people with back pain issue.

Buying the earliest ticket also includes breakfast. The 7 AM ticket is very convenient; you can take a shortcut. There's no queue at Hongyun. The cable car arrives at 11 AM, and there's no queue there either. There are many good restaurants near the East Gate.

XXuanqizongThe room was quite clean, and the customer service, especially Xiao Man, was excellent! She gave us very detailed tips for hiking. The hotel is right next to the scenic area entrance, which makes hiking super convenient. The surrounding environment of the hotel is also great; even if you're not hiking, it's a very comfortable place for a summer getaway. 😌😌😌

Bus stop is at door and that takes you to most places of interest in the city area for museums, food streets and parks etc. At least 20+ Restaurants, cafe, eateries, mini markets are within 1-3mins walk. Hotel room unit is on high floor, good wifi signal, hot water shower, shampoo, clean sheets, TV with local cable channels, water dispenser etc. Safe for solo female backpackers, value for money, highly recommend!
