Honest review about my two-day stay. I'm hoping to see some improvements.
Customer Service: Poor. Unresponsive to requests, lacking in providing assistance. Not courteous, which is expected of a hotel staff.
Staff: Unaccommodating, often responding with “No” rather than seeking solutions or alternatives.
Hotel Room: Good. The automatic toilet feature was a highlight.
Cleanliness: Good, but there is potential for improvement.
Amenities: Good.
Location: Good.
Value for Money: Acceptable for a 4-5 star hotel, but the value is diminished by the subpar service. Improvements in customer service and satisfaction are necessary to justify the cost.
Overall Experience: Unsatisfactory, especially compared to my other stays at Wyndham hotels. This particular experience did not meet the standards expected from the Wyndham brand, leading to disappointment.

Tour Fanjing Mountain in the morning and stay at the south gate at night; there are other courtyards in the south of the city, where guests can be entertained. Nancheng Beiyuan is an urban high-end homestay invested and built by Tongren Youth Hostel Group in the ancient city of Zhongnanmen. Nancheng Beiyuan is located in the core area of Zhongnanmen Ancient City near the entrance of Jinjiang Bridge. The surrounding transportation is very convenient. It is about 10 minutes' drive from Tongren High-speed Railway Station; 40 minutes' drive from Tongren Airport; 80 minutes' drive from Phoenix Ancient City; and 70 minutes' drive from Fanjing Mountain Scenic Area. The construction area of Nancheng Courtyard is about 2,600 square meters. The rooms are divided into four main courts: east, south, west and north. Each single courtyard, courtyard and stacked room types adopt a multi-form silent style design, highlighting the nobleness of popular fashion and natural return to taste. I really like the design and a**osphere of the room in Nancheng Bieyuan B&B. Especially the environment in the public area of the hotel is quite suitable for self-cultivation. I think it is a must-stay for a person to travel here with family and friends. The service attitude of the hotel staff is also very good. I am very satisfied with this stay. I came to Tongren today for a trip. I saw on Ctrip that there was an exotic hotel that had just opened. I booked it for one night with the intention of trying it out. The lady at the front desk was really nice when we checked in and patiently introduced it to us. We booked a French-style room in their hotel, and the room manager also took us to see the Japanese-style room and the modern room. We liked them very much. The room was fully equipped with all the facilities we wanted, and everything we wanted was free in the room. It’s well equipped. I’ll definitely look for his place next time I come to Tongren.

A magical stay experience throughout the trip, there is one to say,
Location: It is more convenient, you can see it from the high-speed rail station, and it is very convenient to take the bus to Fanjingshan to the tourist bus station;
Service: The little brother at the front desk is very patient and has been helping solve problems;
Facilities: The hotel faces the road 3 and is a traffic road. At 19:00 when you check in, you can enter the room as if you are sitting on the side of the road and ask for a room change. The original twin room was booked. I was told that there was 1 room on each floor of the hotel that was not facing the road and was a big bed room. I had no choice but to stay on the floor separately. (Thank you also Trip.com for helping solve it in time);
Hygiene: There is too much difference with the standard of the hotel star, and they do not use their towels and bath towels;
Wonderful: At 1 am, someone knocked on the door and didn't dare to open the door. When I went out at dawn, I found a takeaway on the door handle. 😰

JJamesHarrisIn terms of the ‘hard product’ this may be the best value hotel I’ve ever stayed in, I was genuinely shocked at how wonderful it was and for such a low price. The room and bathroom were flawless and spotlessly clean, to the same standard as any international brand 5 star hotel and far exceeding any expectations I had. The outdoor swimming pool was a very welcome relief from the summer heat and humidity. Despite this, I did feel the service wasn’t to the same standard as the hotel. I had a negative experience when checking in, and with a phone call from the hotel in the following days, that, unfortunately, left a very sour taste in my mouth. I was also surprised that there was no one on the service desk of the pool and spa area to show us to the changing rooms or offer us any towels for swimming. This being said, I would stay here again in an instant and would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Tongren.

Although it is a homestay, there are elevators, catering services, beautiful environment, and very convenient parking. The boss is very nice and enthusiastic. He taught us how to order tickets and recommended tour routes. Although it only takes 3-4 minutes to drive to Fanjing Mountain, the boss still picked us up in person, which is very thoughtful. Although it rained on May Day, I had a lot of fun.

GGuest UserBeaaaaautiful guesthouse with a beautiful view on the mountain. Its very quiet and peaceful, about 10-15mins walk from the small village where the restaurants are.
The rooms are nicey designed and decorated, all by the owner himself. You can see he put a lot of love and effort in it.
The rooms we stayed in had a big window and terrace, so we woke up to the mountains and the many flowers they planted around the guesthouse which was really nice.
The owner and his family are super nice and helpful with everything.
Only thing that we didnt like too much are the disposable towels, guesthouse owner explained its for hygiene purpose, but still prefer towels that can be reused.
Breakfast is very simple as they run the place all on their own and dont have the capacity yet.

GgakkukenI would rate this hotel as deserving its 4-star rating within China. The location is excellent, being only a few minutes away from Tongren train station. The hotel also offers hourly short stays (with a minimum of 3 hours), which was extremely handy for us. Our trip to Fanjing Mountain was disrupted by heavy rain, and having access to warm showers for the whole family at a fraction of the room cost was extremely valuable. Additionally, as other reviewers have mentioned, the hotel provides a free shuttle to the train station, which is a great plus.

MMark123456Booked 3 nights in the ”Elegant Residence City-View Double Bed Room” at the Fanbo Yashe Hotel. Overall, it was a good experience and a comfortable stay. The front desk was quite helpful, especially the wonderful receptionist Xiaoya, who assisted me with numerous things with enthusiasm, such as answering any questions, showcasing the various free amenities in the lobby, giving a quick demonstration of how to use the shared laundry area, and offered additional water or other services as needed. The bed and other furniture were comfortable and clean. The shower and bathroom area were fairly good as well. The atmosphere and decor of the room were probably the best thing. Most hotels have a stereotypical and replicated hotel room, but this hotel's rooms give you something more enjoyable since it is a different style from the norm.
Special note on cleanliness: I did want to give this a 4.5, but kept it rounded-up to a 5 since it was minor enough. The room did have some leftover sunflower seed shells in a few corners or where a piece of furniture meets the floor, and a little bit of dirt stuck where the floor layers overlap in the middle of the room. However, it was not that big of a deal. This is maybe a reminder for the hotel to take a second look where dirt or trash may get stuck when simply sweeping or mopping quickly.
Special note on the bathroom mirror lighting: The lighting by the bathroom sink and mirror could use some more direct lighting, since the position of the current lighting is not too strong and caused shadows on the face. This is not a big issue, but it could prove inconvenient to others, such as women putting on make up or trying to carefully trim a beard. The top-down lighting can cause shadows and unclear views under the eyes, nose, lips, and neck.
Tips for guests:
Name of the Hotel: While this website says Fanbo Yashe, you may actually see it named Van Gogh's Garden in person. Don't be confused; it is the same place. ”Fanbo” is related to the Chinese name for Van Gogh, ”Fan Gao”.
Laundry: Yes, is it available, but there is only one washer and dryer available (hopefully these are increased to two or three!). Laundry detergent is provided. It can be a little troublesome trying to manage around other guests, so it is likely best to do it during the day when people are busy. There is also some nearby clotheslines one can use or just hang in your room if there is not too much.
Foreigner Friendliness: Very good. They'll use Wechat to translate and communicate with you if necessary or find some other methods. In short, foreigners should have an easy time here. If other receptionists are friendly like Xiaoya, then there is nothing to worry about.
Attraction Services: The hotel seems to offer some ticket and transportation services for nearby attractions (or at least advertises third-party services), but I did not use them and cannot attest to them.
Location: It is right next to the bus station in Tongren (and a few streets away from the train station). Once the bus drops you off in the lot, you will need to exit the lot and head slightly east towards the nearby main street, then make your way south. You should encounter the hotel next to where the bus tickets are sold.

GGuest UserWe enjoyed our stay at Yunfu. We arrived a little earlier than check in, so we went to wait by the pagoda in the square. literally two minutes walk. At night the square comes to life but we were able to sleep peacefully. The owners (I presume) were really welcoming and helped us buy tickets for the mountain. they drop and collected us from the bottom of the mountain. nice touch that we appreciated. The room is nicely decorated and has a worth about it. its clean and has AC. The beds are comfy. pillows ok. There is a restaurant just outside the hotel door to the right. we went to the one to the right but across the small road. awesome fish and bamboo. Its a nice town for like 2-3 days. We arranged with the taxi driver who drove us from train station to hotel to pick us up when we went back. very affordable prices. P.S: if you are gonna go during a holiday or summer/winter holidays BOOK YOUR TICKES IN ADVANCE. or call the hotel to help you.And go in the morning. You will understand why when you are half way up. the hotel was were really helpfully a week before we even arrived. We would stay again.

Living: ordinary house renovation, but there are water heaters, washing tools, quilt bed is still quite clean.
OK: It takes about ten minutes to walk to the west gate. The boss is very nice. Let us stay in the mountain climbing and pick up and drop off at the west gate. The farm has parking spaces and parking is very convenient.
Eat: I ordered a stewed chicken for dinner, a real chicken, Guangdong does not put spicy practices, the chicken is full of flavor, and the chicken soup is full of flavor. I also ordered two bowls of noodles for breakfast, which was enough for our family of three. Cucumbers, eggs, and corn are all pure land production 😄
Service: I praise the boss and the boss's parents are very friendly, pick us up, send corn to me when climbing the mountain, let us bring some fresh mushrooms before leaving, but the next stop is still staying at the hotel to give up.

There is a lack of willingness to help. When you ask for help in booking a taxi, they give you a number and tell you to do it yourself. This is not the service I expect from a hotel at that price. I have never encountered a hotel so unwilling to help in any way.
They did not help us to buy tickets for the mountain (which considering they are next to, is the one service they should provide! Every other hotel we have visited on our tour has helped us with attraction tickets). Foreigners cannot buy tickets without a Chinese ID. However, the hotel insisted we buy advance tickets, so we got a friend to help us instead. This was the wrong information: we were able to buy tickets on the day and could not use a friend’s ID! It is unacceptable to have such little information about the one tourist site next door; the only reason guests are staying in this remote location.
Our check-in also took longer than usual, and breakfast is apparently a ‘tour group’ style breakfast voucher. All in all, a disappointing stay. However as the hotel has a great location and nice rooms, this is easily fixable.
