This hotel's location is convenient as just across the road from the Chiayi Train station and bus stop to Alishan as well as the yellow tourist shuttle bus which takes you to Hinoki village City Park and other interesting sites. It's also about 15 min walk to the Wenhua Night Market a very vibrant spot for tourists looking for street food.
The Bf included in the hotel bookings has a very good variety of food buffet style and it was very tasty. Service is also excellent.
Reception was however a bit slow as there was only one staff there when we checked in.
The receptionist was helpful though in recommending bus and giving directions.

Also, if you arrive early, you can store your luggage! The hotel also provides a piano! Free breakfast! Although the hotel looks old inside, the room is very spacious! There is also a big bathtub 🛁! The soundproofing is not good, there is the sound of drainage from the pipes, the sound of dripping water, the sound of the adjacent rooms and the walkway... It is really noisy, and parking is really inconvenient. The reception and other ambience are good, the room size and configuration are OK, but the other disadvantages are really greater than the other advantages.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The location is incredibly convenient, just a short walk from Chiayi Train Station, with 小北百貨 and a 7-11 nearby. The staff were friendly and attentive—they kindly allowed us to store our luggage both before check-in and after check-out, which made our trip much easier. They also went out of their way to prepare extra pillows when we requested them, and had them ready by the time we returned from dinner.
The buffet breakfast offered a variety of western and ********* options. While the food was decent, it was filling enough to start our day. The hotel is also within a 15-minute walk to the night market, making it easy to explore local food and shops.
My family and I stayed here both before and after our trip to Mt. Ali, and we even extended our stay due to a typhoon. We felt well-rested and enjoyed our time. When double beds weren’t available, the staff combined two single beds, creating a spacious and comfortable sleeping arrangement. We truly appreciated this thoughtful touch. I’d definitely recommend this hotel for its convenience, warm service, and comfortable accommodations!

Great location, good that they have a parking lot but need to walk a distance, not convenient with luggages. Hotel is clean, but room is very small. Separate bath and toilet. Water cooler just outside the room. Recommend!

This time I stayed in a double room on the first floor. The room was large and had high ceilings. However, because the room was quite empty, it felt oppressive. The sound insulation of the other room was not very good. The breakfast was buffet style, but I felt that the kitchen staff I was a bit busy and didn’t have time to wash the dishes.
The overall experience is good. The counter can help store luggage and call a taxi, which is very convenient.

Just two weeks later, when I arrived in Chiayi, I chose to stay at Guanko Hotel again. The price was very good compared to the cleanliness of the room and the richness of the breakfast. Although the hotel is some distance away from the Wenhua Road Night Market, if you have your own transportation, Guanko Hotel is still a good accommodation choice.

Breakfast was included and cafe just beside the lobby. Thus, we no need to worry about the foods in the morning.

Location is wise… near to the station, night market and Smart Fish, a bit of a distance to local attractions (Hinoki Village). Facilities, lots of common areas. I will stay here again.

GGuest UserThe room is on the third floor, which is great! And the room was very big. I stayed in a Shanghai-style room that day, which had an antique feel. However, there was no separation between the bathtub and the room. This should be the design of motels nowadays! The breakfast is delicious and the service staff are very friendly. If I travel next time, I will consider staying here again~

DDelonXDFirst I was supposed to give 2 stars because when we arrive at hotel, they only accept cash in twd dollar as we thought already paid via online. So, it caused us to paid more compared to online as the exchange rate. We dunno why they wanted us paid first via online and then refund to us after the day check out. This will make the process too complicated. This hotel was so traditional even no online payment & maybe doesn't have debit card too?
Honestly, the hotel was really nice looking & clean as the pic shown. The toilet look good but the bathroom door was so so old and rushed cannot close. The bed was strangely & weirdly comfortable but it sounds of spring so so noisy when we moving around the bed. This must be changed because senior or someone not comfortable with hard bed should not booking this hotel!!! The aircon work well but at night it automatically closed down. Maybe save electricity or something as thought we didn't set anything??
This hotel provided buffet at morning (6.30 - 8.30am) such as toast, rice and porridge. It so nice since this hotel was budgeted compared to other which more expensive. However, we dunno why they set the time so earlier in the morning should be until 11 am or 12 pm. Who will wake up in that time?? Maybe people cannot sleep that time or something else. I 100 % sure that the foods will be leftover.
The service was well...ok nothing to comments. The overall still budgeted hotel & the location from train station was so near, the Wen Hua night market was so near about 800 meter.
We still NOT STRATIFICATION with this hotel !!!!

GGuest User很好的體驗，首次到訪入住1晚，房間佈置很溫馨，床品軟硬適中，個人很喜歡！服務人員親切友善，早餐雖然種類不多，但該有的都有，且提供的粥品味道不錯，位置離夜市也不會太遠，隔音還可以，超級安靜，第二晚因有活動所以入住的房客比較多，環境整理的部分還滿貼心的，新備品，當天早餐因未取用水果，床頭燈具的木頭框框似乎不在打掃範圍內，故有些灰塵，但瑕不掩瑜，是還會想要再訪的飯店
