We were driving from Zhaoqing to Shantou, which is quite a long journey, so we decided to break it up with an overnight stay in a city somewhere in the middle. The hotel is definitely older, but you can still see its former glory, and they've maintained their unique character through meticulous details and management. The cleanliness of the entire hotel was astonishing. The small hand towels in the bathroom were individually packaged in plastic after being disinfected, and there wasn't a single black spot on any of the silicone in the corners. Even though the furniture and decor are dated, everything was spotless. The staff, from front desk to housekeeping, were all incredibly polite, on par with what you'd expect at a luxury hotel. The hotel management has clearly put a lot of effort into this aspect."
