Overall, our stay was unpleasant. From the time we checked in to the time we checked out. When we entered the hotel they essentially made us feel that we were unwelcomed. No smile, no hello, nothing! I have never experienced this level of hospitality in my lifetime. Room size We had booked a ”Deluxe Double Room with Balcony and Sea View” (booked almost 1.5 months before) and it was supposed to be one of the best rooms in this hotel (2nd best to be precise). The room was tiny and couldn't even accommodate our luggage. Bed size It was supposed to be a ”large double bed” but it was tiny that we couldn't sleep well. We had 5 years old - already mentioned while booking. They could have simply rejected our booking by saying that the bed would not accommodate a kid. Bathroom and accessories It was again very small. There was nothing. No hand towel, soap, toothbrush, or sleepers. There was a shower gel and a shampoo. And some tiny lizards in the bathroom which was scary for my kid to use the washroom. I must mention that one of the staff was helpful in getting rid of one of those lizards we encountered and I had to shoo the rest of them away by myself. Pricing on Booking.com We paid 336$ for two nights on booking dot com and expected better rooms and services but the actual room cost which I got to know at the hotel was only 80$/night which explains why the services were not great. Booking dot com definitely fleeced us. You can directly reach out to the hotel to book the room if you're interested. Also, we had planned to spend two days in the city to explore after spending a few days on a private island. Though one day was enough to explore the city! Overall, it is a 2-star hotel and not recommended for a family. Good for solo travellers for a short stay (not more than a night). I would not recommend this hotel to a couple! The only positives were the sea view from the room and the location.

We stayed here for the second time before catching our flight home after a dive trip. It is fine for one night, the room was clean and the air con worked great. This island is man made, so space is at a premium. We booked a twin in the hope that we might have a bit more bed space, but the floor space was not really big enough to have both our dive bags open at the same time. However the staff were absolutely delightful. The rooftop restaurant was really nice and the food and service was great. We had to leave at 5.15 and there was a lovely breakfast spread out with yogurt and juices and fruit beautifully presented. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

Great hotel! Just next to the beach, the beach is so beautiful, the hotel is very new, the bed is very comfortable, and it is very clean, everything in Maldives is so beautiful, it feels like being in paradise. The breakfast is very delicious and there are many types. The restaurant is elegant and suitable for vacation. Thank you for all team staffs. We are looking forward to come again.

The hotel is very basic and very small compared to their room rates. Staff manager (a Maldivian / Srilankan guy) at the reception is always grumpy and not welcoming when you ask him anything. Nonetheless, hotel was supposed to arrange transfer from the airport which they didn’t at all. Imagine, you are with the elderly and kids with a big family and hotel forgets to send transport to pick the group up - and not one it happened twice with two of our groups coming in two different timings. The Asian and Bangladesh restaurant waiters were very helpful and thats probably the only positive thing about the hotel. No lifts and staircase is very narrow. Its hard to carry through this way. I wouldn’t recommend to stay here unless you have to.

[Hygienic] There is hair on the head of the shower... The sheets and pillows are not very clean. Other health conditions can be tolerated. [Facilities] The sound insulation is too poor. At 6:00 in the morning, I heard the baby crying next door, and adults teasing the children. We ran around for a day and didn't lie down until 2:00 in the morning. We couldn't sleep. [Service] Not bad, but please don’t ask the clerk to change the change. The clerk changed all the 100 US dollars into Maldives Lufiya, and didn’t spend it all (swipe the card after going to the island). The local bank will not exchange US dollars before returning home, because There is no receipt to exchange Lufia at the bank. So this cash is still idle in our hands after returning to China. (The clerk did not change it on the spot, but charged us our money and asked us to wait for a while before coming to us... Our English is not misunderstanding, and it was too late that day, so we didn't bother with this matter anymore) US dollars are commonly used in Maldives. [Environment] The beach is right outside the hotel, and the surrounding small streets are a bit special, so you can just stroll around. [Others] We ordered a breakfast package. The breakfast is in the restaurant next to the hotel. You can choose anything from coffee toast, as well as local specialties such as tuna, red curry, and burritos. They taste good. [Traffic] From Male Airport to the hotel, the taxi costs 6-7 dollars, and the hotel clerk can help you call a taxi.

The room is small, clean and hygienic. The so-called sea view is not worth mentioning. The beach at the door is not bad. You have to bring your own toothbrush, so if you are in transition, you can choose cheaper nearby. During the epidemic, it was 1,000 yuan in Male. I don’t know how much money it usually costs.

Beach front cozy guest house. I loved clean room, tasty breakfast, good access to local restaurants, smiley friendly supportive staff, prompt response from reservation desk. You can choose western (toast) or Maldivian style breakfast, and coffee/tea/various types of fresh fruit juice.

We had a nice experience at this hotel, they were really warm n nice. Breakfast spread could be improved but for the price they r selling and the property being beach front I guess this is great. We were here for a quick transit to catch our flight as it would be longer if we transit directly from resort. Best part this hotel gives free to and fro transferd for free.

My recent stay at Vista Beach Retreat left much to be desired. Firstly, the room was disappointingly small, and upon entering, I noticed a strong paint smell. When I brought this up to the staff, they simply attributed it to opening the balcony, which did not address the issue. Secondly, I specifically requested a wake-up call for my early morning flight at 5:00 AM, but unfortunately, the reception forgot to follow through on this request. As a result, I almost missed my flight, adding unnecessary stress to my departure. Furthermore, during check-out, no staff members came forward to offer assistance or inquire about my stay. This lack of attentiveness and customer service is unacceptable and only adds to the overall disappointment of my experience. While I found the food to be passable, it was not enough to redeem the shortcomings of the hotel. While the owner may be well-intentioned, it's evident that the staff are in need of training or additional support to provide a more hospitable environment for guests. In conclusion, my stay at Vista Beach Retreat was a regrettable experience, and I cannot in good conscience recommend it to others. Unless significant improvements are made, I will not be returning for a second visit.
