In summary, I quite enjoy staying in this hotel. If it’s going to renovate, it would be much much better.
The hotel is located near the sea side, allowing it has a spectacular sea view. But it’s not convenient for people going from station to the hotel on foot. I had a baby and two pieces of big luggage. Exhausted when I got to the hotel. What’s more, I need to climb down 10+ steps to get to use the elevator.
The room seating is good if the condition is 20years newer. The combination of Japanese and western style is my cup of tea. But I have to admit that the onsen is good.if it can be operated longer, it would be better.
The highlight of the hotel is its breakfast. I didn’t expect much. But it ended up suprise me. Food choice was great, environment was great and the food was great!

I suppose the charm of Atami is that the whole area is a little bit 'dated' as far as a resort goes, and this hotel definitely aligns with that - it seems like a place that was once great and is now kind of just rolling along bringing in what money it can.
The food is serviceable but totally uninspired - an upscale cafeteria masquerading as something better than it is with 'chefs' wearing their whites. The entire dining room constantly smells of fryer oil from the tempura - which they still make and keep stock of in such large quantities that it is never fresh and crispy anyways (especially the shrimp, which has not been sufficiently dried before battering). The remaining hot dishes are very disappointing both in terms of variety and overall flavor. The sushi and sashimi is the standout of the food, although it too is very basic - not anything that will blow your mind, but acceptably tasty and reasonably fresh (although on our second night everything tasted a bit soapy/bleachy). As a westerner you will be very disappointed by the breakfast, although that's a 'me' problem rather than a hotel problem per se.
The spa facilities are nice but a bit dated - be careful in your selection of both time and location unless you want to be surrounded with many loud (mostly Chinese) children. Private spas are available and are quite nice, although again dated. Nonetheless at around 60 USD for an hour the price is good for the privacy, especially as a westerner who is otherwise subject to quite a bit of staring at this mostly local and Chinese spa.
We stayed in a deluxe king room, which was spacious with an enormous and comfortable bed, and a (For japan) reasonably sized tub. Room and desk service was good.
The hotel is a bit off the beaten path but has regular free shuttles to/from Atami station, which is where the main tourist streets for shopping etc can be found. Highly suggest checking out Golden Eye for some excellent Ramen.
The Hotel Oonoya is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. Visitors to Atami will find that the Hotel Oonoya is a fantastic accommodation choice. From the hotel, JR Kinomiya Station is just 1km away. There is no shortage of things to see in the area, with the Atami Plum Garden, Nagisa Small Park and Hihokan - Adult Museum Atami all nearby. When guests have some time on their hands they can make use of the onsite facilities. This Atami hotel provides parking on site.

A very stylish hot spring hotel in Atami, with great front desk service and convenient transportation. Not only is there a bus stop at the nearby water park, but the hotel also has a special free pick-up service. I booked a Japanese-Western style twin room, which was clean, spacious and uniquely designed. I chose to stay there for one night mainly because there was a fireworks display that night (it was said to be the ceiling of the fireworks). It's only a few minutes' walk to the venue of the fireworks display, and you can wear the hotel's yukata to check in with the fireworks, which is very appropriate and meaningful. It may be a bit expensive during the cherry blossom season, but I will choose this hotel again next time I come

The food was so good! I was really moved. It is a seaside town. Unlimited seafood, freshly grilled and eaten, so great! There is a semi-open-air hot spring, which is very comfortable. I soaked in it twice a day, haha! The room is very spacious. It is a Japanese-Western style room for three people. In fact, it can also accommodate five people. The tatami is very spacious, more than enough to sleep three people.

Service is excellent. Once we called them at Atami Train Station, their car arrived in 10 mins to pick us up. The free ride from/to train station is very helpful. Free drinks and snacks during happy hours 3-5pm is very good. We have seafood, beef, fish and semi buffet for dinner. The beef was good. Fish is okay. Overall the services are very good and staffs can speak English that made it easy to communicate. The ocean view from our room is beautiful.

This is my favorite place to stay during this trip to Japan! ! It is very close to Atami Station, just a few minutes' walk away.
The room is very big, clean and tidy. The bedding is super soft and comfortable to sleep in. I don't want to get up after falling asleep. The room I booked, Room 302, has a view of the sea from the balcony. The hot spring is also very clean and comfortable. It is very close to the Kinomiya Shrine, the beach, etc. ~ There is a projector in the room. I bought a lot of food at the convenience store and supermarket at night. I went back to the hotel to watch movies and drink. It was so happy🥰
I would like to give special thanks to the owner of the B&B! ! When we checked in, we were given a detailed introduction to Atami's attractions, delicious restaurants, etc.
When I left the next day, I found that my passport folder was lost. My passport, cash, bank card and ID card were all in it. The landlady helped me search carefully in the room, and after she couldn't find it, she kept asking if I had found it. Later the police found my passport holder, and my boss drove me to the police station to pick it up, and then drove me to the station. I am really grateful 😭
If I have the chance in the future, I will definitely go to Atami again and stay in this hotel again!

It was an extremely fulfilling 2-day, 1-night trip to Atami! Thank you very much.
All the staff were very polite and their manners and language were very good. I got the cheapest room, but I think it was worth it to work hard at my part-time job and save up money. Next time I want to stay in a suite! I'll do my best at my part-time job! Mochibe!

The room is OK, the environment is OK, the ritual of dining is full, but the taste is so-so for me, the area of the bath is too small, it feels crowded when two people go in, and the road to the hotel is really challenging, rain and snow weather should be very difficult

Since it was a holiday in Japan, it was difficult to book a room. After reading the reviews, I was not very satisfied with the room. I booked a Japanese-style room with a nervous mood. I brought my parents out to play. The room was very large, with a separate bathing room and toilet. The toilet did smell very bad as other guests commented, but it was acceptable. There were many types of buffets in the evening and breakfast. There were three places to soak in hot springs, and you could see the stars in the open air. The hotel also had a free shuttle bus to Atami Station. It was about a 10-minute walk from Kinomiya Station. There were many restaurants near the hotel. My parents were very satisfied with this hotel.

Their service is wonderful. We left a charger in our room and they quickly locate it and return it. I understand that they use a plastic bag to hold all customer property left in their room and labelled it with dates and room no. This shows how they care about their customers and address to things systemically with every single details. This is one of the many times I forgot things in hotel and public transport and can get things back every time. Speechless!

Amazing
WWongMeghanThe room is large and extremely nice, all the required amenities are there. The view from the room balcony is magnificent, overseeing the beach . The unseen in the room is nice too, the temperature is just right .
The free taxi service to and from station is very thoughtful and convenient. this is better than shuttle bus service which some hotels offer.
The breakfast options are many with both western, Japanese, and even a bit of chinese.
GGuest UserVery traditional Japanese hot spring hotel, the dinner was super good, the service was also very good, it was a worthwhile experience. When I was leaving, the front desk helped me call a taxi, and knew that I was going to MOA, and provided discounted tickets
PPoodleKittyThe hotel was great, wonderful service, good food, nice staff overall, however, Fuua spa was a bit disappoint with no extra towels to use. I would suggest to bring a bottle of drinking water or you would have to purchase. We stayed in the mountain side because it was cheaper but the ocean view would be great. You can see ropeway going up and down on the mountain side. Bus runs for free between the station and the hotel every 20 minutes or so. No reservation needed. It’s right in front of McDonalds at the station. Bus is not large. I would suggest to get there a bit early if you want to sit with your company together.
You have a half off ropeway discount in the card you get at the check in counter so don’t throw it away after check out the hotel :)
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is close to Atami Station and the shopping street, just a 5-minute walk away, and the location is very convenient. Stayed in a Japanese-style room with two meals for one night. The kaiseki dinner was very exquisite and the breakfast was also very good. The staff was friendly, the room was comfortable and clean, we were very satisfied with this stay!
NN HaTraditional hot spring-style inn, all meals in the room. The room has 2 floors, the lower level is the dining area, the upper level is the bedroom, washroom, bathroom, and a small patio area overlooking the beach. From Atami Station to the inn, it takes about 10 minutes to drag your luggage around the road. It takes about 5 minutes to walk up the stairs without luggage. It's about a 10-minute walk from the guesthouse to Atami Sunshine Beach to watch the fireworks festival. The inn staff was courteous, explaining what each dish was and how it should be eaten, and reminding us that it was time to leave for the fireworks festival. Although the cost of accommodation was greatly increased due to the fireworks festival, it was a good stay experience overall.
GGuest UserCheck-in was surprisingly smooth. The room was spacious and easy to use, but there were a few things I thought were a bit off: I probably won't return.
- Two of the eight lockers in the large communal bath were broken.
- There were only four washing areas, so you basically had to stand while taking a shower. There was a chair, but it was hard to use because the height was not right for the shower hook. There was no mirror in the washing booth.
- The water was too hot to stay in. People around me had the same reaction. The sound of the drainage was so loud that you couldn't hear the healing music.
- There was no alcohol in the vending machines. The free drinks in the lounge were removed at 10pm, so it was a pain if you forgot to buy some at the convenience store.
GGuest UserIt is a quiet and clean hotel inn.
The location is Kinomiya, one station away from Atami Station, and it is quite a bit up the mountain from the station, so it is definitely not within walking distance. You will need to take a shuttle or taxi.
There are several courses for dinner, so you need to search carefully and make a reservation.
If you make a reservation thinking it's a discounted rate, your enjoyment of the trip may be ruined by a poor dinner.
The 2nd to 4th floors of the main building have limited views, and the main building does not have a separate bathroom, so you must use the large public bath.
Both breakfast and dinner are French!
I think it's a little below restaurant standard.
BBosco FungIt was my first time to search for a hotel by car. It was very difficult to find a hotel. I couldn’t find the two hotels on the left. I searched Google Maps and couldn’t find the location. I passed three hotels in a row and there were no signs on the roadside.
The staff at the two nearby restaurants always have people asking for directions😆😆
Old-style hotel, you have to carry luggage on the first floor
The front desk staff is friendly and kind.
The restaurant is nice
RrinnリンThe bathroom is surprisingly clean. The location is good and not far from JR, but there is a slope. There is only one bathroom. The boys' bathing time is too short. They will not have enough time to take a bath after returning from the fireworks festival. Basic toiletries, disinfectants, etc. are all provided. Anyway, there are many charged items, so it’s best to bring your own. Breakfast is a bowl of Ochazuke rice with an egg. The self-service option includes dishwashing. If you don’t have any requirements for breakfast, you can consider it.
AAnonymous UserCompared with the off-season price of more than 1,700 yuan, it is not worth it. It does not have the thoughtful details of Japanese hotels, the decoration is sloppy, the sanitary ware is also made in China, it is not clean enough, the corridor has a fishy smell, and it is some way away from the sea. There is no WiFi, and I don’t even want to leave a bottle of mineral water.
Unless you especially like seafood, the buffet is nice, but for people like us who are not greedy for food, it doesn't make sense.
