The hotel was better than we expected. After a long commute from Tokyo we found the hotel very easy, 5 min walking distance on a straight line from the station. Inside they are stylish and clean, the beds are comfortable, the library area is so cosy and the free snacks and coffee, tea, soft beverages, even free drinks after 19:00 are such a saviors as the shops are closing early so there is nothing you can buy )). The private onsen on the 3rd floor was very clean and relaxing. If I were to come to Hakone again, I would chose the hotel without hesitation. Peaceful and comfortable

A fantastic hotel, though quite expensive. Firstly, the setting is superb. Waking up and opening the window, you're greeted with picturesque mountain and water views, with Mount Fuji visible in the distance. Secondly, the rooms are spacious with well-designed functional areas, making them very convenient. As the hotel is a bit far from the main commercial areas, we opted for a one-night package that included two meals. For dinner, we chose the French option, which was incredibly refined and delicious, with some particularly distinctive appetizers. Paired with a small bottle of Japanese Dassai sake, I'd give the dining experience an 8.5 out of 10. After 10 PM, hoping to avoid the crowds, we headed to the onsen (hot spring). A crucial tip: don't mistake the initial shoe lockers at the entrance for your main storage. The first set is only for shoes; there are separate lockers inside for your clothes. Also, always remember to thoroughly cleanse your body before entering the communal baths. For breakfast the next morning, we opted for the Japanese set meal, which featured nine small dishes, each offering a small portion – more for the variety and aesthetic. While it wasn't on the same level as the French dinner (and you can't really compare breakfast to dinner), it was a pleasant change. If you have ample time, I'd recommend staying an extra night to truly soak in the unique tranquility. The Japanese approach to developing tourist attractions is quite unlike what you might find elsewhere; there's no sense of over-commercialization or maximizing every last cent. On the vast Lake Ashi, for example, aside from the 'pirate ships,' we couldn't find any small boats available for rent, which I suppose might be due to safety considerations.

This time I came to Tokyo mainly to see the cherry blossoms, and I also went to Hakone to soak in the hot springs. I saw good reviews of this hot spring hotel on the Internet, so I tried it myself. You can make an appointment for a private bath through email, and the reservation for pick-up service is also responded quickly. The staff service is very friendly. As for the hot spring, there is a private bath in the room, which is very suitable for people who want privacy. The food quality is good. Overall, it is a high-quality hot spring hotel.

I recently stayed at Hotel Clad during my trip to the Fuji area, and it was a wonderful experience. The location is truly unbeatable—perched on a hilltop with breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji, especially at sunrise and sunset. Waking up to that iconic silhouette was absolutely unforgettable. The hotel itself strikes a perfect balance between modern comfort and serene simplicity. My room was clean, well-appointed, and designed with a minimalist aesthetic that made it feel both calming and functional. The large windows made the most of the surrounding nature, and I appreciated the attention to detail in both the amenities and layout. One of the highlights was the onsen. It was such a treat to relax in the hot spring baths while gazing out at Mt. Fuji—an experience that felt both peaceful and luxurious. The onsen facilities were clean, well-maintained, and never overly crowded. The hotel is also conveniently connected to the Gotemba Premium Outlets, making it easy to enjoy a bit of shopping or grab a bite without venturing far. Despite this proximity, the hotel maintains a very tranquil atmosphere, which I really appreciated. Overall, Hotel Clad is a perfect base for anyone looking to explore the Fuji area in comfort. Whether you’re there to hike, shop, or simply take in the views, it delivers a serene, scenic, and satisfying stay.
