20 min uphill hike from Gora station. Or you can take cable train up hill for two stations and walk on flatland for about 8 minutes to hotel. Hotel has shuttle bus. They dropped us off on the way back. You can possibly call to pick you up at Gora station. Trip.com reservation options show you prices for one adult. It's very hard to book for 3 people to stay in one room to save money. I sent a custom request to the hotel exactly this - 3 people in one room. Trip.com charged me $270 and when I got to the hotel, they said I have to pay $300+ more for 2 more people. That was not clearly communicated to me by either Trip.com or hotel. There's a language and cultural barrier. In Japan, you pay per person - not by rooms. They scan your all passports of everyone staying - not just the person who books. With last minute notice, I had no choice but to pay more as other hotels nearby are filled up and we were very tired from 4 hours train transfers dragging our bags plus 8 minutes walk to the hotel. All in all, if trip.com room selections are not a perfect fit, I can't recommend booking this hotel. Custom messages are not recognized. Communication is lacking. You will get charged last minute without any alternatives left. For $570 a night, we could have a way better hotel in Hakone. The breakfast also wasn't memorable and you have to reserve it ahead of time. I would not come back.

Clean and nice. I’m not a fan of that design, the Onsen is good. Beautiful view.

Hotel room was spacious. Compound was a bit old but overall clean. Onsen was small but still nice to use, with a sauna. Location was okay as long as there is transport, having the shuttle is a nice touch.

Near from Gora station, having pick-up-car, friendly staffs. Good hot springs and sauna, i will be there next visiting.

An overall very pleasant experience. I stayed there one weekend for two nights and another for three nights. + The hot spring bath is very cozy with a nice nature view. The Sauna was great. + I wasn't satisfied with one room and could change to another room with large balcony without questioning. + The view from the hotel is wonderful, especially during nice weather. + Great value for money. - Dining in the hotel is only possible with reservation, arriving spontaneously for dinner is not possible. - The bar was closed. But the Gora Brewery is only a 10-minute foot walk away.

The room I stayed in Tokyo felt very big when I arrived at Hakone. Although the hotel is a bit old, the service is super good. The normal pick-up service at Gora Station is from 9:00 to 18:00. When we checked in our luggage at 8:30 in the morning, the service staff offered to take us to the station. It was very thoughtful. There were free snacks, cocktails, drinks, etc. in the evening. We played in the natural hot springs for a day to get rid of the day's fatigue. The only problem is that there are not many places to eat around, after all, it is in the mountains.

Hotel Marroad Hakone is a value-for-money hotel that can meet the needs of a group of friends. The hot springs are comfortable and the room is as clean and tidy as the photos. It is rare to have such a large room in Japan. All the staff were polite and helpful, and the breakfast provided was also very satisfying. The hotel is a bit old-fashioned, but the room is big and has no odor. You can see the yard outside when you open the window. The breakfast is a set meal, and there are waiters to serve the guests. There are indoor and outdoor hot springs. Overall, the accommodation experience is very good. We sent our luggage from Hakone Yumoto to the hotel, and then went out to play. When we returned to the hotel at night, the luggage had been put in the room. It is best to take the Hakone Tozan Cable Car to get off at the Park Station and walk a few minutes to the hotel. If you walk up from Gora Station, you have to walk a steep uphill road.

It is 10 minutes away from the Hakone Museum of Art. The price is on the high side, but the space is sufficient and there are hot springs available. The hotel looks dated and there does not seem to be much traffic.

The exterior is in the style of a simple European manor, and the interior should have been renovated in recent years. The key is a traditional key with a long plexiglass room card, which is very impressive. There is a natural hot spring private bath, where you can enjoy the view on the hillside. There are massage chairs, TVs, etc. in the bathing and changing lounge area for you to rest and cool down before returning to the room. The service is very considerate. The breakfast is a Western set meal, which is exquisite and can be eaten as a breakfast. The restaurant faces the hillside and the scenery is invincible. We arrived very late, and the front desk was also very friendly. The front desk was also very friendly during the day, and they responded to every request. Luggage can be stored. The bed and tatami are very good, and the quilt is a duck down quilt, which makes you sleep very comfortably at night. The disadvantage is that you have to climb a slope to leave "Gora". There is a car to pick you up at 18:00 in the evening, so you can only climb if it's late. It's closer to "Park Shang" and there is not such a big slope, but there is still a car at 22:00 on the mountain climbing line to "Gora", and there seems to be no car at 18:00 on the traction railway to "Park Shang". If you go late, you can only climb or take a taxi. We checked in late, so we only enjoyed the service of being sent to Gora after checking out.
