Family-friendly Hotels in Guilin

Nice big hotel in the center, just in front of a lake with 2 Pagoda. Elephant trunk at 600m, Departure for night boat also very clise.

We spent 2 nights at Sheraton hotel in Guilin. The hotel is located very centrally in walking distance to most major tourist attractions and close to Guilin railway station. The staff was very attentive and absolutely accomodating for all of our wishes making our experience very memorable. The interior design of the hotel is well thought out and gives it a simple but elegant touch. The facilities include small swimming pool which we couldn't try due to the weather situation. The gym consisted of a handful of cardio treadmills and machines for resistance training from Life Fitness with an area in the corner with dumbells and foam rollers, yoga mats. The changing room came with a sauna. We can recommend the breakfast buffet which is a mix of Western breakfast and local specialties from Guilin. Out of the available package options we really enjoyed the photo shoot where they provide makeup and clothes(classy/elegant and Guilin traditional) to capture the amazing moments from the trip.

Upon checking in, a very welcome greetings from Jolin, the service counter staff. Great service and always get greetings every day when we are at the lobby. The hotel location is great and convenient. The room is cleaned. A great location to stay and enjoy our holidays. Nice breakfast and well recommended.

My first impression of Shangri La Guilin is that many staff speak English proficiently or at least the basics that are required for their job. I arrived an hour and a half before the check in time but they promptly checked me into my room without any long wait. My luggage was taken to my room by a bell boy whose English was even better than the front of the house. My initial thoughts of the room was that it was quite old fashioned and the interior design & amenities were dated in comparison to most 5 star hotels. The view however was exceptional. I could clearly see the garden, river and mountains. After my first night I was woken by some loud music. Though the staff tried to tell the dancers that playing the music was disruptive to their guests, they continued to play it which further frustrated me. I informed the guest manager Edward who was very helpful in rectifying this. He upgraded me into a much nicer room that he ensured me should be quieter. They also gave me complimentary fruits in the room which added to the nice gesture. This is exactly the kind of quality of service that earns them a 5 star rating. Carl at the front desk was also very competent and was very helpful when I had to pay for something through wechat. The room I came with was a package deal that included breakfast, spa voucher, photoshoot and club privileges. It was worth the extra cost as the all inclusive club buffet during happy hour was filling and tasty (photo attached). Breakfast was a Chinese buffet with a fusion of western basics such as cereal, toast and bakery items. If you have the time, I would highly recommend seeing Kelly (English name) for a ”signature Asian” massage at the spa. She applied the perfect pressure for me and was very kind. The photoshoot was organised through wechat and included 6 photos. The photographer was lovely and the final photos made special memories of my time in China. Suggestions for improvement: several items in the room are in need of repair or replacement eg. old hair dryer that lightly blows air (useless), flickering lights when you turn it on and the phones. I also think if they were to refurbish the pools outside then the place would appear less worn down. Overall, the service and reputation is what made this stay worth it. I look forward to staying at Shangri La again

Great hotel in a wonderful and convenient location. Staff were particularly helpful and check in was super easy. In particular, Peng Min at the hotel front desk was very patient in answering all our questions about tour bookings and even helped us book a 4 start cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo for the next day. Thanks to the team at the hotel for making our stay and trip so easy and enjoyable.

Facilities: Complete Sanitation: Good Environment: Quiet Service: Thumbs up I left the hotel on the morning of February 6. The front desk receptionist Qin Liyuan and another girl gave me a warm and meticulous reception. I felt the hotel service was sincere, warm and thoughtful! There were some details before, and the service staff also patiently explained and explained them. The stay experience felt very good. In short, I give it a thumbs up!

A very nice hotel with luxurious decoration and spacious and sanitary rooms. My family likes it very much. There is a shopping mall downstairs, which is super convenient for eating and shopping. You can just ride a shared bicycle to the surrounding attractions. It's so convenient!

It is a garden-style hotel with large rooms, separate wet and dry areas, and sufficient heat for bathing. The beds and pillows are comfortable. You can feed koi in the middle of the courtyard, which has an antique feel. The service staff is very enthusiastic. The front desk is very good, especially the housekeeper Xiao Yang, who warmly received us and introduced the food and attractions of Guilin. He greeted us in the morning and evening with full sincerity, which warmed our hearts. I will choose this place again.

The room is very clean, the front desk lady is also very nice, the service attitude is very good, the air conditioning in the room is also very good, very clean, fully intelligent control, there is a terrace at the door of the room where you can see the Sun and Moon Twin Towers, and you can also have afternoon tea, and the cross street is next to it. In the evening, they also sent me desserts! The price and service are absolutely amazing! Very good. Have a nice trip

A very well managed & maintained hotel, spotlessly clean from corridor carpet, elevator, bathroom faucets polish etc Front desk staff are all service minded, polite & eager to help. Bed is comfy provided with one soft & one harder pillow Free self service laundry & dryer + detergent at multiple floors comes in handy Long sighted spectacles (with various degree) even provided at Front desk for the convenient of guests use. 10 minutes walk to nearby Elephant Rock & Sun Moon lake Breakfast spread is a notch above most local hotels (not international brands) Definitely a high value for money hotel to stay. Do not expect a good view from your room though due to hotel is at city center surrounded by similar height buildings
