This is the best onsen hotel we’ve stayed in, among those we’ve stayed in for the past 12 years! We stayed here for 2 nights. We’ve extremely grateful to the hosts for their outstanding service and hospitality from the heart. Loved the thoughtfully varied menu for each meal. The establishment is spotlessly clean and excellently maintained. Each morning, our towels and yukata (hotel gowns) were replaced. So were the amenities ( fragrant green tea packs, snacks). The housekeeping staff even offered to mop our rooms after only one night’s stay. The wifi was also fast and sustained well in the guest room and public lounge areas. There are facilities to cater to a wide range of age groups from seniors like us and children too. There were ample resting chairs in the lounge and on the way to the historian’s well as guest rooms. The best facility was the hot springs! They are exactly as depicted in the hotel website. Numerous indoor pools of various temperature all have the renowned ‘beautifying’ odorless alkaline water. My skin felt so smooth and moisturized after only one soak. What’s more the hot springs stay open for in-house guests from 10.30 am to 11 pm and day-trip visitors from 10.30 am to 8 pm. In-house guests can also use the hotsprings early from 6 to 9 am. There is a European dry sauna as well as wet steam rooms in both make and female hotspring areas. We would love to stay here again!

Service is excellent. The meal (Japanese style) is wonderful. Onsan options is one of the best onsan hotels I have ever stayed. It may not be convenient if you don't drive as the location is quite remote, but you can enjoy a peaceful environment.

The price includes breakfast and dinner, which is also very affordable. The hot spring is very large with many different pools to choose from. The open-air area has beautiful scenery. I will come again. The whole hotel is also very large and the waiters are considerate

The hotel is old-style and the rooms are relatively large, but if you don't drive yourself, the transportation is inconvenient. But it is worth mentioning that the water quality of Gero Onsen is first-class, worthy of being one of the three major hot springs in Japan.

A regional two-story hot spring hotel with one hotel room and two meals, which is convenient for self-driving. The staff is friendly. The Japanese-style room has enough space and no bathroom. You have to go to the bathhouse to take a shower. There are 4 or 5 pools in the bathhouse, as well as a wooden barrel steamer (not tried) and two open-air baths. It is traditional but not too old and well maintained. Breakfast/dinner are all Japanese style, so you can eat whatever you want.​ This time there was a surprise about the hot springs.

A historic hot spring hotel, stay one night, self-drive tour would choose this, about thirty minutes drive from Gero city, the staff does not understand English, can only sue Google translate and body language. Selfless soup, two large baths, outdoor bathing to see the stars excellent, the room has no bathing place, there is a toilet, but the bath to go to the large bath, the upper room to walk two floors, luggage to move yourself.

Although the hotel is relatively remote, there are dedicated staff to pick you up at the station, so you can book it even if you are not traveling by car. In addition, the service attitude of the staff is very good. The only drawback is that you need to go up and down the stairs, but if you don't have much/light luggage, it is still highly recommended!

It is a good facility that does not match the low price. The front desk staff was also friendly, and they provide dinner and breakfast, which were delicious. It is inconvenient to get there by public transportation. There is a shuttle bus from Hida Hagiwara Station, but you have to make a reservation by phone the day before, so it may be inconvenient for foreigners to use.

Stayed at Mikazu no Sato for two nights. From the cleanliness of the room, the quality of the hot springs, the quality of the breakfast and dinner, and the service of the staff, it far exceeded my expectations. Although the building is modern, the room is in a simple Japanese style. I went there with my 85-year-old mother. Because we didn't make a reservation for dinner, the front desk made two extra dinners. The standard Japanese style service helped the guests solve practical problems. There is nothing special, but it is worth the money. Chinese tourists without cars will hardly go there. The scenery along the way is very good, especially the one-hour drive down the mountain.

The hotel is not in Gero, you need to walk a mountain road. But the environment is very beautiful, especially on rainy days, the mist and rain linger around the green mountains. Soaking in the open-air bath is really a life enjoyment! 👍

The hotel is not in the Gero area, and it takes about 20 minutes to get there from Gero. There are not many buses, so you usually drive there by yourself, and there are plenty of parking spaces. The rooms are larger than those of ordinary hot spring hotels, but you have to go to the hot spring to take a bath. The number of hot spring pools is the largest in Gero. There are also hot spring massage pools with wooden barrels. The dinner and breakfast are very rich and delicious. The price is very worthwhile.
