"The hotel all in all service is great the receptionist is good enough to ask us how are we. The location is also nice you will be able to see the view of the bridge from afar and the cylinder tower nearby. The hotel location is also at the heart of Georgetown which makes it easier to walk around the famous spots such as Kimberly night market and Armenian Street; few minutes walk and you'll be able to buy night market street food too!
We tried as well the pool which is nice because it's not crowded. The food in the dining of the hotel is also good got variety of foods you can eat!"
"We went on a 3 days 2 nights business trip with family in Penang. This hotel is located at Gurney bay which is such a very good location. We personally familiar with the surrounding there so it is easy to find food and travel.
The parking building can be accessed both from Gurney bay and Kelawai road which is very convenient.
Free parking is available in the building.
The parking space in front of the hotel charges 10 RM per entry.
We got a connecting room which is so comfortable for us. The hotel staff were very nice also.
Pros: The room is fully equipped with universal power outlets.
Cons: The shower is located in bathtub. It is quite slippery and inconvenient.
Overall, We had a very pleasant stay."
"One of those hotels that provide types of pillows that suit your needs. I am amazed that have a good selection types of pillows as I have neck issue.
Location of hotel smack right in the centre of Georgetown with ample selection of dining eateries and interest."
"I traveled with 15yrs daughter We arrived Hotel Afternoon 2PM. We must wait until Check In Time but is ok. The receptionists at the Lobby have good service and polite. We went for a walk and grab something to eat then back to Check In. The room was small But It's Okay. the shower the Pressure of Water is good The Hot Water is good The air conditioning is good. We Have a good night Sleep Over there. Breakfast is not various. But the location is perfect we can walk to Chulia street in 2 minutes and Armanient street in 6 mins."
"The room was very spacious, featuring two large beds and two bathrooms, which was incredibly convenient for a family of four. My brother cut his hand by the pool, and when we contacted the front desk, they promptly sent up some first-aid supplies. The hotel itself is quite new, but the restaurant was undergoing renovations, so breakfast wasn't available, which was a bit inconvenient."
"The room is clean but toilet & bathroom are a little tight on space. Location for street food is excellent. Unfortunately the hotel doesn’t provide free shuttle to these spots. Although the staff tries to reach out to see if they can help make the stay better, the info about the free CAT bus to Cecil Street Market was erroneous."
"This is my second time staying at this hotel, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the bar is now open! Besides special cocktails , they serve skewers as well.sometimes when i don’t feel like going out ,i can just head up to the bar on the 9th floor to relax."
"We had a pleasant stay at OZO Hotel Penang. The breakfast spread was delicious with plenty of variety, and the location is very convenient — close to many attractions and eateries.
The service was warm and attentive, making our stay even more enjoyable.
One small downside: the TV kept hanging and the Wi-Fi could be stronger. Hopefully, this can be improved for future guests.
Overall, a good stay and we’d be happy to return!"
"The check-in process was quick. The reception staff on duty were very friendly. The room was quite okay and clean. Facilities are minimalist. Daily rooms housekeeping are available. The location is quite close to Komtar."
"The hotel is a relatively old building so the vibes is very oldie, which is kinda cool haha! Staff there were very friendly and helpful. Tho i dont like the smell of their towels and the curtains were a bit dusty. Overall ok exp! (view from the window!) Theres a church nearby too which was nice hehe"

Great
CChunnuanhuakaikaixindaolaoI really liked the hotel's distinctive style and its rich sense of history. This was the priciest hotel on my trip to Malaysia, and also the one I was most looking forward to. Overall, I felt it offered good value for money, despite a few minor drawbacks.
Firstly, the front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming during check-in, but unfortunately, they didn't speak Chinese, which made communication a bit challenging. Thankfully, a Chinese-speaking service was available via phone later on.
Secondly, the room was very spacious, particularly the bathroom, which was incredibly roomy. The double vanity sinks were convenient, but the twin beds were surprisingly small and felt completely out of proportion with the otherwise large room.
Thirdly, the hotel's ambiance was excellent and very quiet. The sea view from our room was beautiful, and the infinity pool was unforgettable. However, staying in the Victory Annexe meant we couldn't access the Heritage Wing's pool, which prevented us from fully enjoying all of the hotel's facilities and scenic views.
Fourthly, the hotel's location was superb. It's right by the sea and also very close to major central attractions, making it convenient for sightseeing and exploring local culinary delights.
Fifthly, the hotel's breakfast was fantastic, offering a wide variety of dishes with high-quality ingredients. The ice cream was particularly delicious!
A special thank you to the hotel for the thoughtful welcome gift. If I visit Penang again, I would definitely consider staying here.
Iillyana amerA bit of a let down for a 5 ⭐ facilities.
Breakfast : 3/5
Bed : 1/5 (Very hard, had to ask the housekeeping to add on a topper)
Facilities : 3/5 (a bit disappointed on the creaking sound of the door)
Parking : 2/5 (basement parking is not stroller friendly)
Kids room : 0/5 (there’s a smoking odour in the room maybe from the ventilation)
Front desk : 1/5 (lack of professionalism, complain from 7am, attended at 8pm,the staff that help me checked in couldn’t speak in English properly and not even in Malay, very let down for a 5 ⭐)
I will rate it as good value for money if it wasn’t a 5 star hotel for the overall amenities which are much more available than a normal boutique hotel.
But overall not worth the price paid.
Background, I am a heavy traveler and had more than 20 trips per year on hotel alone so I believe my opinion is justified knowing the differences. We even extend the trip by booking at their partner hotel (boutique) and had better experience in fact.
Hope they can look into this😌 but I thanked the housekeeping and maintenance for attending to our needs 🩷
XXue Er ShieldI recently stayed in the Diva Suite and absolutely loved the experience. The room was spacious, very clean, and well-equipped with thoughtful amenities. I was especially impressed to find a steamer and a Dyson Airwrap in the room, which my girls thoroughly enjoyed using.
Housekeeping was excellent. Every time we stepped out, the room was tidied up, sometimes even multiple times a day. It was such a nice feeling to return to a neat and refreshed room each time.
The service was equally commendable. Staff members were friendly, approachable, and always ready to help. A special highlight was when they surprised my girls with a tiara and sash delivered to our room. It made the stay even more memorable and special.
Overall, our stay in the Diva Suite was delightful and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, excellent service, and those extra thoughtful touches that make a trip unforgettable.
GGuest UserLove how thoughtful the place was. Stayed in a queen bed private room, additional stuffs like a chair(you don't want to be lying on the bed when you're all drenched in sweat!), a dressing table and a dressing table chair, bathroom bag, bathroom slippers. (Refer to the photo attached)
Kudos to this place, one of the places that is ”what you see is what you get”!
Shared bathrooms were also cery clean n gendered
With washing machine and dryer available for guest use for free!
You could also iron at the washing machine area. Washing machine works perfect but dryer didn't really dry my clothes but its okay, hung it overnight with air conditioning and all good.
Even get to park my bicycle indoors and the front desk is 24H, suitable for people that checks in at odd hours! Water dispenser, fridge and microwave is also available at every floor!
Overall a very good experience! Would def come back again!
WWishiwashiThe hotel is not in the most central area of George Town, and there isn’t much nearby, so you will mostly need to travel by Grab. Other than that, the hotel is sparkling clean and new. There’s also a nice coffee and tea corner near the reception. I felt relaxed and enjoyed my stay.
GGuest UserThe room was clean and spacious. The location was superb, right in the historic old town, surrounded by numerous historical sites and tourist attractions. Additionally, there were plenty of dining options nearby, and it was conveniently close to the jetty and the Clan Jetties.
GGuest UserI had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the location was convenient. Overall, a good experience and I would be happy to stay here again.
GGrace Ling SEThe hotel is like 5-7 mins drive to Komtar, the town center. Easy to find food around, walking distance around 3-5 mins from the hotel. I stayed in room 205. The room was spacious but without a window because it's in the center. The bathroom space was just nice, bathroom ”wall” was a piece of large glass covered with blinds. Toilet exhaust fan doesn't seem to work. The room aircond took some time to get cold but it's not very cold although already put to 16°c, full fan speed or turbo mode. Maybe it needs some servicing. For those who are driving, they have a small basement parking with 6 parking lots and the front of the hotel can park up to 3 cars.
IIsabelleyishaThe hotel location is right on the hot spot of Georgetown. But it goes with noise at night until 2am. So if you plan to be partying at night it's ideal and walking distance to Love Lane and all Georgetown touristic areas.
But if you wish to sleep and relax after midnight definitely not the right hotel for you.
The room was OK in terms of size but a lot of mosquitoes coming from the bathroom drain. I've killed at least 50 of them thanks to a mosquito raquet 🤣 The tip is to close the bathroom curtains so they don't get in the bedroom.
Humidity in the room had the paint peeling off.
For the price I don't think the room quality was enough. Specially for the humidity and mosquitoes combination.
The breakfast menu was not available but you can easily go down the street and eat at ease or order with the application grab. No bar available in the hotel.
The shared areas are clean. Loved that you have to take off your shoes at the entrance.
There are stairs to get into the hotel but they help you with your luggage. The first time you arrive you need to ring the bell for them to come open for you. Small door not easy to spot at first. I suggest to the hotel to stick the name directly on the door at eye level and big to avoid confusion. I've uploaded a picture of the door for you to not get lost.
After you check in they will give you the door code so easy for you to get by.
Staff has been helpful when asked but not interacting or giving you suggestion or asking you how things are going.
I've rated cleanness average because there was a lot of hair in the bathroom when I arrived. Had to literally take it off during 5 minutes. Thick long hair... Not sure how they didn't spot it.
Apart of that they were cleaning all right the rest of the stay.
Internet was not easy to get when in the room but in common areas or close to the door of the room works better. Don't save on a sim card and buy at the airport for having internet at all times on your phone. Will help you with maps and outside anyway.
The taxi from the airport was very convenient only 30 minutes and I ordered with grab came within 5 minutes.
Hope this information helps 🌹
CCHONG CHING3 Days 2 nights stay at Chulia Mansion Georgetown
We booked 2 superior rooms for 2 nights via trip.com for Rm644.40 or Rm161.10/room/night . We checked in to Room 207 and room 215 upon arrival.
Once the door of Room 207 was opened, a bad odour full of stingy smell appeared. We did not care to take action at that moment. We went out for good food. After coming back to hotel to rest, we tried to check whereabout the smell coming from, and to take action by closing the toilet door from that moment thru the night. Sad to say, the stingy smell was still there all night long, and I could not have a good night sleep thru the night while surrounded with bad odour.
On top of that, the toilet shower rubber hose was cracked and water rushed out during our shower in day time.
The following day, I went to the lobby to tell the hotel lady, all the facts and request to change to another room. The lady checked the hotel computer system and told me that the hotel was fully booked a night before once housekeeping was done, they will give me a new room. That was roughly 12 noon. So, they tell me to go back to stay in room 207 to rest, and to wait for her call.
At 12 something , one man knocked on my door and sprayed our room 207 with air freshener, changed the hose and left.
By 1pm, I was uneasy and I went to the Lobby to follow up with the change of room. The same lady was watching something like movie her table, I asked her why nothing done to call and inform me to change to a new room. She raised her head and looked at me and said that the housekeeper informed her that there was nothing wrong with the room.
At that moment, my temper was up and I told her firmly and repeatedly that i want to change to a new room.
The next thing happened was that we were checked into room 315. We were lucky and happy that room 315 has no bad stingy smell. However, the shower hose in the room 315 was rosak then again I told the lobby about the facts.
So, moral of my stay is to follow up with the LOBBY all issues and defect in the hotel room that I feel unhappy with.
The whole purpose of the stay is to get happiness and relax by paying cash that worth the value, and not wait until check out to complain.
Last but not least, room 215 facing the street also noisy due to the sound and noise coming from motorcycle , cars and vehicles during daytime outside street, and also live band, loud music and pub. You can also hear music and live band coming from the roof of Chulia Mansion building itself.
Finally, I think if you are a light sleeper this hotel definitely is not your choice.
