Fujikawaguchiko Hotels with Bars

For more general details about Fufu Kawaguchiko, please read my review from October 2020... We decided at the last minute to pay a visit to the Fuji Five Lakes area because the weather forecast called for a clear day (and hopefully a clear view of Mt. Fuji.) Thankfully, one room was available, and it was the exact same room as the one we stayed at the first time (Fufu Luxury Premium Suite, Room #408.) It's a top-floor corner suite with a separate bedroom/living room along with an expansive balcony and a free-flowing, open-air Onsen (natural hot springs) bath. As rooms go, it's pure bliss. Modern, tastefully furnished and decorated, bright and airy, and has all of the amenities and features one would expect when staying at a relatively new high-end property. We still feel that Fufu doesn't make the best use of its space - it's a bit busy, and consequently seems a bit less spacious than its specifications suggest (it's officially 136 square meters, although someone we can't help but feel that they're counting the balcony space as part of the overall room size.) It's really less of a ryokan and more of a hotel with ryokan-style elements. Shoes don't need to come off (although you're advised to do so in the guest rooms), they provide ”Samue” (sort of spa pajama/style) outfits rather than the traditional (and albeit more pretty but less comfortable) Yukatas, but still retain some of the common ryokan charms (and a few drawbacks.) The staff are relatively young, hip and ”pretty”, and more casually friendly than the typical traditional ryokan, which is good or bad, depending on your perspective. We enjoyed the high-energy vibe of the place, although we also do enjoy the finesse and quaintness that top traditional ryokans exhibit as well (Asaba is a perfect example of this.) The clientele are also more youthful than most other properties that we've stayed at - this is where the young, wealthy and beautiful go to see and be seen, that's for sure. Again, not necessarily a bad thing, but just a FYI. Not much has changed from our last stay, although I will say that we enjoyed the food offering a bit more this time. We learned that they brought in a new head chef, and while it's not a night-and-day difference, we did notice a quality and creative improvement from last time. A few specialty dishes were once again served, including a unique cheese gratin with Natto (fermented soybeans that is slimy and has a pungent odor) for breakfast - we enjoyed the dish, but not sure how many Westerners can handle Natto, which is a very acquired taste. While we wish there was an option to have meals served in one's own room, we do think that Fufu needs to have more ”ko****su” private dining rooms in the restaurant. They only have a handful of them, and priority goes to large groups or families with small children. When we go to a high-end ryokan, we prefer not to dine in an open, restaurant-style environment. This is our 2nd stay at this Hotel and it was better than the first. The Hotel may be ”old”, but it is very clean and comfortable. The breakfasts are Wonderful each morning, they should not be missed.!!!! The Staff are all very kind and friendly. It has so much charm and is Great for people that enjoy art, architecture and nature. The onsen has a Wonderful view of Mt. Fuji if the weather cooperates. This is a peaceful place to relax and get out to walk in Nature away from the crowds.

As a traveller with large tattoos, I wanted to leave a review here confirming that this onsen allows for guests with tattoos. This is the onsen review only. I went in the early afternoon on a Saturday and, while initially I shared the onsen with 4 other Japanese ladies, eventually I had the whole onsen for myself. Very hot water, 1 indoor pool and 2 outdoor pools, although one was not in use and empty. 1000 yen for 2 hours (bring your own towels), English website, easy to access from Kawaguchiko station.

The accommodation can see Fujisan every day. Located near Kawafujiko Station. It takes 9-10 minutes to travel, face the train station, walk left. Go straight to the end of the road, you will find a tempura shop. Then turn left, walk straight through 1 red light, walk straight and turn the legs of the light green building. At the road sign, the north Muranamura. Then go straight Will find a drink dispenser Look at the top and find that there is a sign named hostel. Raise left as the second house. In front of the accommodation there is a small garden. The interior is decorated with bare cement. On the left hand side of the door is the check-in, the kitchen and bathroom. Three rooms are used for men and women. At the toilet next to the stairs On the right is the part of the bar to eat. The right wing is the shared accommodation. For the top is a female accommodation, the part of the window overlooks Fujisan every day. In addition, it is a family room. There are two toilets above. The toiletries are complete except towels, you have to pay 100 yen. In front of the garden there is a viewpoint to see Fujisan with nearby houses. Here, it is suitable for a single or two people, a small family. More importantly, staying close to a shop for girls. Shopping for 2 other cosmetics stores. People who don't like the chaos, a little bit of a noise must stay here.

We stayed here for a family trip with our children, who are now adults and live in different places. We were searching for accommodations on a hotel website with the aim of relaxing in the hotel and watching Mt. Fuji, and when we happened to come across KUKUNA, which had a cancellation, we immediately made a reservation. ・Has an open-air bath ・A direct view of Mt. Fuji ・Has a balcony ・Proper dinner ・Breakfast is a buffet ・Has a private bath ・A clean hotel ・Attentive service from the staff We were looking for various things, and this hotel surprisingly met all of them. Not only did we meet our search criteria, but our impressions of the stay also included the cleanliness, comfort, service, and food. As soon as we arrived, the staff who came to pick us up from the car made us think, ”I'm glad I chose this place,” and that feeling continued until we checked out. At the front desk, in the restaurant, and in various other scenes, the staff's polite service, which conveyed their feelings, made me think that it felt like a fresh version of the Ritz-Carlton, and when I heard that the owner had worked at the Ritz-Carlton in Hawaii, I understood. We had a really good time. Thank you for kindly accepting our request for a surprise birthday cake for the children.

Very hygienic and clean. Although the bathroom is shared, it is clean. On the day of check-in, the boss saw that we were too tall and took the initiative to help us upgrade the room. Because the room is Japanese-style, it is inevitable that the sound insulation is not good, but it is acceptable, the quality of the passengers is quite good, and passing by softly. You can also rent a bicycle for 1,000 yen a day at the store. If you need a taxi owner, you will also help shout. In short, it is very good.

The hotel is nestled in a quiet area, away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy area. We stayed 3 nights in a room facing the lake with a magnificent view of Fuji-san. A van provides shuttle service to and from Kawaguchiko station. The restaurant is not operational hence we either ate outside or bought food back from Lawson/7-11. Hotel staff were friendly and attentive, and there were Mandarin-speaking staff. We miss it very much even though we are now in Hoshino Amoriya, which speaks a lot about the Kumonoue Fuji!

I wanted to take a picture of Mt. Fuji. The period of my stay was rainy and tonpishiri, and Mt. Fuji was not able to worship once, but it was fun to stay here Near Oishi Park. Although there are few shops in the neighborhood, there are shops such as soba shops, fruit parfaits, pasta, hoto, and direct sales of agricultural products, and I stayed for about a week, but I didn't get tired. No, it is the level of losing vocabulary such as tempura of home cultivated vegetables in soba shop, momo parfait, and so on. It is quite far from Kawaguchiko Station, but if you contact in advance, you will pick up and drop off. The staff was helpful and friendly and very cozy. The facilities are new and clean and beautiful. You can touch various people in octopus. It is recommended.

We've stayed at Sakura last week for 2 nights and we had an amazing time. The owner and his wife are very friendly, always willing to help. They did recommend a trekking trail, drove us to the start of the trail and gave us a map to help us find our way. The trail is really out of beaten tracks, we were alone all the way with beautiful views on Fuji Mountain. The guesthouse has good value set dinner and breakfast with local products. The private onsen is a treat after a day out walking/on the bicycle. The room had a panoramic view on Fuji Mountain.

Resort is very near to mt Fuji, the view from villa is stunning although not view from the room however backyard from the room is good enough. We had 2 nights stay and breakfast experience is awesome, dining with mt Fuji with all self cook experience. Dinner bbq prepared by glamping is good just pricey, we had dinner outside second night, there are Aeon mall and sport depo 1 km away maybe less, we walked over and return not very hassle for us. But without car you can’t be easy at mt Fuji. Overall I love this quality glamping. 1 more sharing my friends stayed PAO, it is wonderful, exactly camping experience but high end camping facilities. Activities area is natural, We all love it.
