Room is simple but good enough. Receptionists are also extra nice and helpful.

The hotel was a bit pricey considering the facilities as it was during an international conference. It was disappointing that they were doing road paving work in front of the hotel and the breakfast was repetitive.

There was a road under construction near the hotel. I drove there at night and followed Google Maps for many times but couldn't find the way. It was very unfriendly. I parked the car at the train station next to it and walked there. There is an IKEA store and McDonald's near the hotel.

OK for one night, but the room was very small, especially the bathroom. Overall, good value for money

Clean and tidy, convenient transportation, next to the station, in front of the pedestrian street and Essen University, shopping and food are great, but the room is a bit small. Breakfast is average, 12 euros is a bit expensive.

The hotel is a bit small, the location is good, and the facilities are average. Please bring your own toothbrush.

The price is very cheap in the whole of Europe. The room is very clean. Although it is close to the train station, the neighborhood is very clean. The service attitude of the hotel's front desk guy is very good. But the space of the room is not too big, and the bathroom is relatively small.

Very correct hotel to recommend and very good breakfast

Great little hotel in the centre of Essen and close to the train station. Rooms very small, but met our needs for three nights. Didn’t have any food so can’t comment. Cheap and cheerful and ideally located . Not much else to say! It has a small bar !

Quick one night stay whilst visiting the Christmas markets - good location. Basic but clean , Car park next door , check in was easy . Staff friendly - The rooms were fine although the bathroom was quite small Would stay again if visited Xmas market

Difficult to get to due to the construction site. At reception we were checked in by a disinterested lady chewing gum! Room was more or less OK, unfortunately the heating didn't work and there was a draft through the windows. Breakfast was a complete disaster, such bad rolls, only the cheapest baked goods, cheese was only refilled after asking several times, which was particularly annoying as I don't eat meat. Not enough choice. We were extremely disappointed 😞, that had nothing to do with green breakfast. Especially as we have stayed in other b&b hotels before and everything was great there. It's a real shame as there is still a lot that needs to be worked on. That is no longer an option for us.

A cheap hotel in a central location, parking for a fee. Although the hotel is right next to the train station and I had a room facing the station, the noise didn't bother me with the window closed. Decent breakfast! And very friendly and helpful staff. The price/performance ratio is just right.

Check-in was very friendly and quick. Unfortunately, we had constant problems with the magnetic card, which is valid for both the elevator and the room, because it didn't work properly. The rooms are very small, very narrow (!!) and functionally furnished. Our room faced the train station and people with thin ears might have problems sleeping with the windows open. We didn't have breakfast ourselves, but one of our fellow travelers said that it wasn't particularly good for €17. Little choice and only pre-baked rolls, but as I said, that's just the opinion of one of our fellow travelers. If you need a cheap room for 1 or 2 nights without any great demands, this is the place for you.

Simple outdated hotel for max 2 days, breakfast way too expensive. For breakfast you better go to Backwerk. Shower way too small...totally uncozy and air conditioning that doesn't work, sometimes the rooms are too hot for it, cleaning crew sometimes makes noise from early in the morning with their vacuum cleaner or open and close doors.
