The hotel boasts an excellent location, right on Victoria Street, making it incredibly convenient to visit The Elephant House and shop for Harry Potter merchandise. We also enjoyed what we believe were the best fried noodles in Edinburgh at Mussel, the seafood restaurant located directly opposite. The room itself was larger than anticipated, and I particularly appreciated the bathroom having a bathtub – perfect for a relaxing soak after a long day of city walking!

We traveled during the peak May Day season, and the overall price of hotels and restaurants in the UK is relatively expensive. This hotel is the same price as the one we booked in London, but the service experience and cost performance are much better. Location: It is just across the street from the train station, next to the art center gallery, coffee shop and bar, very close to the old town without climbing. The rooftop bar on the 7th floor has a beautiful night view. Service: There is welcome champagne, many drinks in the minibar are free, the room is very clean, the bathroom is large and the mattress is super comfortable. Breakfast: We paid for breakfast at our own expense, the 20-pound buffet has a lot of choices, champagne, coffee, various fruit juices, and you can also order a hot plate. Compared with fast food, which costs 15 pounds per person, it is still very cost-effective. Highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed at A&O Edinburgh Hostel during my trip to Edinburgh and had a solid experience overall. The location is excellent — right in the city center, within walking distance of the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, and plenty of pubs and restaurants.
The hostel itself is clean, and relaxing after a day of exploring. The staff were helpful and friendly, but it took a while to check-in.
Rooms were basic but comfortable, especially considering the affordable price. Bathrooms were shared but well-maintained.
If you’re a budget traveler looking for a central, convenient place to stay in Edinburgh without fuss, A&O is a good choice. Just be prepared for the usual hostel vibe—shared spaces and some noise.
Would definitely consider staying here again!

Excellent room, superb location and fantastic cleanliness. One of the better Novotels we have visited. The room was spacious, the bed was great and the little gym was great.

The room is very good, very good; the location is also good, convenient to go everywhere. The decoration style of the room is very light Nordic style, with white as the main tone; there is a kitchen where you can cook your own food, and you can finally have something different for breakfast

Good location but noisy on street side and no aircon in the room, so stuffy with window closed
We had various minor service and facility issues, which we have communicated to the hotel itself. The hotel is in need of refurbishment and a service upgrade

The room was very spacious, and we had no problem opening our four suitcases. The location is excellent, right on a prime street. Unlike the Hilton in York, which only had electric fans, this hotel actually has air conditioning – a big plus! The only major issue was the price. We booked in May for over 3700, but now, just a few days later, the rate is only between 1600-2200. Since our booking was non-refundable, the price difference felt absolutely ridiculous, and we ended up feeling totally ripped off. I highly recommend always choosing a cancellable option when booking, so you can rebook if the price drops.

This is the best hotel I have stayed in in Edinburgh, very spacious and clean, very close to the train station, just opposite. What I like most is the toiletries they use, the brand is noble isle, especially the whiskey-scented hand sanitizer. The hotel does not have a front desk, so you need to call and ask for a code before checking in. The good thing is that the check-in time is 3 pm, and we arrived at 1 pm and we were allowed to check in early. However, there is no elevator in the hotel, and the highest floor is on the fifth floor. It may be difficult to get there if you have heavy luggage.

Overall, our stay at The Wild Hotel was pleasant. The location is great, the atmosphere is nice, and the staff was friendly. However, the electronic heating management system was a major issue. Every night, the temperature fluctuated from tropical heat to freezing cold, making it very uncomfortable to sleep.
We brought this up with the staff, but unfortunately, not much was done to fix the problem. If they can sort out the heating system, this would be a great place to stay.

The hotel service is very good, the facilities in the room are very complete, almost everything you can think of is provided, very convenient, in such an old building converted into a hotel, it is almost a perfect experience. I checked in very late, the hotel specially left staff to assist me in the check-in procedures, the hotel provided free coffee which was also very delicious. A very pleasant stay experience.

Great
Ttrac****The room was decent, the location was great, and the bed was comfortable. However, we were assigned a first-floor room right by the entrance – I'm not sure if this was intentional – and we didn't get a wink of sleep on any of our four nights.
First off, the glass door was broken and couldn't be securely locked, which meant absolutely no soundproofing. We could hear every word pedestrians said on the street. Given its central tourist location, loud pedestrians, particularly intoxicated ones, would pass by until well past midnight, making a lot of noise. Then came the constant banging of doors in the morning. Even more terrifying were the sounds of luggage being dragged and lifted (due to the building's layout, all luggage had to be carried up stairs), which sounded like an earthquake, starting as early as 5 AM. We were utterly sleep-deprived and on edge!
We tried to just tough it out, but by the time we left, our entire family was completely drained.

FFangaodexingkongThe location of the hotel is invincible (the house in the lower right corner of the second picture). Turn right after exiting the Market Street exit of the train station and walk for one minute. You don’t have to worry about carrying large luggage. When you cross the road, you will see Prince Street Park and Waverley Bridge (where the photo was taken). After crossing the bridge, you will see Prince Street. Turn right and walk for 15 minutes to Calton Hill. Turn right and walk for 3 minutes to the Royal Mile. There are many restaurants along the way. It is very close to the University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh Castle, and the Art Museum. The staff’s service is very good. When they meet people from non-English speaking countries, they will communicate with guests at a very slow speed. It is also very convenient to store luggage. There is also an airport bus at the door of the hotel.

BBudgetTravelerWe are so satisfied with Aparthotel! It is very clean and has everything we need. Especially when you want to stay in the same place for a few days and don't know where to eat, this hotel is equipped with basic cooking ware, rubbish and recycling bins and a dishwasher! Is is also located in between the train station and city centre. When you feel tired you can always go back for a rest before heading out for dinner.

MM379890****The room was clean, and although the facilities felt a bit dated, they perfectly fit the Holiday Inn style. Situated next to a church, the soundproofing must have been excellent, as it was very quiet at night. Most of the staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was quite good. Excellent location. They even allowed for an early check-in as soon as a room was available.

RRachel Clare DExcellent staff, clean room and convenient location make Edinburgh’s Marriott Hotel Holyrood one like no other. The receptionist made a provision for me to check in early at 9:30 am and for me that was a major relief as I traveled by train from London and really needed to rest. Thank you to the impeccable room service as well that made it a relaxing time for me.

11391674****There is nothing to say about the location, the Royal Mile is just outside the door, and it is also very close to the train station. I don't know if it's because it just happened to be in time for the Edinburgh International Art Festival. The cleaning on the first day was missed, and the room facilities are relatively old and smelly. But it still doesn't affect our love for Edinburgh. I really hope that we are still in Edinburgh every day when we open our eyes!

GGuest UserThe room is spacious and clean. We had a slight hiccup with the SMART TV initially, but the manager came to resolve it. The hotel is not far from the train station, although dragging a suitcase up the steps and slopes of Edinburgh city is no joke. Will definitely recommend it to tourists who are there on a budget.

AAnonymous UserWe got the 2 Bedroom New Apartment which is very spacious, modern & clean with a kitchenette & best, washing machine! My kids love the place very much.
Location is a bit of walking distance from city centre but it’s okay as the stroll is nice. Not too crowded near to the city centre.

GGuest UserIts a Premier INN, a low cost, basic hotel room. The rooms are a good size but the double bed has only two pillows. There was only one large towel in the room. There is no fridge. We were given only one room key which can be a bit annoying. It has minimal service, minimal staff, you can self check-in and just drop the keys to check out. It is Ok if you are clear on what you are getting.
