Dambulla Hotels with Bars

I would say this is a very good 4.5 star hotel. I was very impressed snd would definitely choose this hotel again. The scenery was amazing and rooms were very clean. I only wish all my hotel picks were this good.

Occidental Paradise Dambulla is beautifully located, offering easy access to both nature and historical landmarks. The staff were professional and always eager to assist. The restaurant provided a variety of well-prepared dishes that catered to all dietary preferences. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and provided an incredibly comfortable stay. For the price, the hotel offers excellent value, with a combination of luxurious amenities, great food, and outstanding service. We will back definitly Thanks for all memorys..

Dear Readers, 1. I and my wife stayed in this resort for one night (Check In 10 Dec 2024 & Check Out 11 Dec 2024). 2. I had booked this hotel through Ms CEYLO TRAVELS,COLOMBO as one destination out of our 14 nights itinerary to Sri Lanka. 3. It was quite a disappointing experience since this hotel was offered to us a 4-Star hotel by Ms CEYLO TRAVELS. 4. It is very highly overrated as is seen from the previous reviews in contrast to the standard of ambience ,hospitality, amenities and choice/quality of meals. 5. Good Points, a. The hotel is situated in a jungle like serene environment. The sounds of birds can be heard in the morning/evening. b. The hotel has a nice swimming pool which is located next to the restaurant. 6. Bad Points. a. The rooms have a dampness in the air and are not aired regularly and properly. b. The standard of toiletaries in the washroom was very substandard. c. The room and the washroom does not adequate lighting arrangement. d. The hotel does not have laundry services which is a normal amenity expected in a 4 Star hotel/resort. e. The hotel provides only two 500 ml mineral water bottles for one night stay. The extra water bottles asked for by us were levied at DOUBLE the MRP listed on the water bottle which is violative of legal provisions. 7. Standard of Food. a. The standard of food in terms of quality and choice was extremely limited and very minimalistic for vegetarians like us. b. We had to be contended with items like Dal,Curd and plain rice. c. The standard of bakery items was highly substandard. d. The standard of service was also not upto the mark. e. The variety/quality has NO comparison with the one we came across at Hotels like Trinco Blu beach resort at Tricomalee merely one day ago on 09 Dec 2024 and at Mandara Resort, Mirissa later on 15 Dec 2024. 8. Summary. A. This jungle resort is a 3-star standard and is highly overrated in the reviews. I assume the visitors don't have patience and inclination to write a thorough, comprehensive and realistic review. B. I would also admit that I had made a huge mistake by booking my 14 nights tour to Sri Lanka through Ms CEYLO TRAVELS,COLOMBO. This company is into excessive profiteering and is making a fool of the Foreigner Customers like us after taking 10% advance before reaching Sri Lanka and collecting balance 90% in CASH (USD or INR) immediately on arrival at Colombo. C. I would therefore suggest that the Foreigners especially Indians MUST not use the services of this company which is looting its customers in a systematic and organised manner, knowing fully well that it will be very difficult and highly un- economical for a foreigner to sue them on the Sri Lankan soil. This is the best and best hotel to stay in during your stay in Lanka! The entire hotel is in a mango garden, the environment is very beautiful! The hotel is also very clean and the service is in place. The breakfast was very good and the place to eat was great! Overlooking the pool and a large green area, it is simply a beautiful experience. The environment is fragrant, and there are nights at night. The security is also very good. Especially on the second day because of the urgency, my lover put some valuables in the room, our bags are already on the way to Nuvo, and it has been open for 20 minutes. After suddenly thinking about the amount, the DILI driver was very enthusiastic to help the hotel call, the other party sent someone to say that they were still in the room, and then rushed back to the hotel to take it, which was a sigh of relief. Thank you for the hotel! In addition, this hotel room is to be locked with a key, not directly locked to the door, this should be noted. After we checked in, I went to Lion Rock after cleaning up. When my lover locked the door, I brought it directly to the door. When I came back, I opened the door with a single push. Fortunately, nothing was lost. This shows that this hotel is really ok. Of course, if you have to live in this hotel, you still have to keep your belongings safe. There is a safe in the room.

The hotel is right next to the cave temple and you can walk past it, which is very convenient. The hotel can report to Lion Rock for a group tour, or charter a car to Lion Rock, and then go to the ancient city. The price is billed in US dollars.

It’s my second trip to Sri Lanka and I am so glad I found this hidden gem! I have loved my stay at wild grass. The villa was huge, minimalist, refined, tranquil with all the essentials I needed. The balcony perfect for a relaxing beer, reading a book or simply meditating or sitting with the sounds of nature around you. Showering outdoors as tropical rain poured down or stars shone above was great. Wifi was good. I saw monkeys, birds, frogs, turtles even a chicken in the grounds. The perfect place for an escape from life, that you may never know you needed so much and may find yourself considering staying for a life in the tropics once you realise you did. A handy base for exploring rocks, ruins, mountains, rice fields, village life and more without too much travelling time. Recommend to hire a driver/car for your stay as it is a bit remote so this gives you freedom to go as you please. Staff were super kind, attentive, caring and helpful and ensured I had everything I needed during my stay even with our super early 4am exhausted arrival! We did miss traffic and sites along the way and it was a pleasure to wake up from that long travelling day in such a nice place but if a long drive after your flight isn’t your thing consider a night closer to airport first and head up next day if your flight arrives late. The meals we’re delicious and high quality, you must have the curries and the sri lankan breakfast 🤤 Nice pool and everything was clean, tidy, extremely diligent to covid protocols and mainly outdoors so low risk in that respect given the times we find ourselves travelling in. The bonus of that I was privileged to stay at a time when the resort, the island itself was having only minimal tourists so don’t waste time thinking about it book your stay as soon as you can get here and take advantage of that luxury as this magical island can be busy sometimes. A bit sad to be changing places tomorrow after such a lovely stay in the tranquil calming surrounds of wild grass but look forward to a trip back and pleased to be able to recommend it to others and thank all the staff that looked after me during my stay!

Since I had entered the hotel, the staff had been very helpful and friendly. Everytime I ask them for something, they would respond fast and help with whatever the task is. Then how they talk is also very friendly and respectful. Their service had been way greater than that of what you would expect. Furthermore, talking about one of the most important facts, the food. Well, the food had been very clean, well served and had been healthy as well; it had been always fresh. Then the buffet has a good variety of food ranging from Sri Lankan to foreign food. Then the rooms had been very clean and well maintained, it had been very comfortable, not the most luxurious but it is way worth the money. The atmosphere was great, it was surrounded by the nature from all sides, it had a great swimming pool good for all heights as the deepest side is 2m and the shortest 2ft. The water is very clean. Thus, this would be one of the few hotels that I would personally recommend to someone. This hotel helped create life long memories that's unforgettable with my family.
