2-Star Hotels in Cebu

Me and my friend stayed at mad monkey for 5 days which was far too long but we didn’t know when we booked that there wasn’t much to do. When we arrived we didn’t get the most friendly welcome from reception we didn’t get told about any events going on in the hostel or any trips that the hostel were offering We found the room was quite dirty and very loud on the road side. The air con made the loudest noises and half the time it was hot. The room smelt very mouldy and damp. The floors looked like they haven’t been cleaned for months especially looking under the beds. The walls were cracked and the paints hanging of the walls. No one cleaned the room in 5 days but we did get toilet roll delivery’s. We found it quite hard to chill near the pool as there wasn’t any comfy chairs and it was a greenhouse in there and soo hot we couldn’t sit there for long. It’s all enclosed and we was told on a very occasions that they couldn’t turn on the aircon. We was pretty disappointed with the food prices(the food was nice) although the pizza doughs were a bit undercooked they were so expensive to say it’s a hostel with backpackers on a budget staying there. For 2 meals it cost us £15. And we spent £3 getting a can of red bull which would cost less in England. We wanted to join in on the beer pong one night and we was told we wasn’t aloud to play if we didn’t buy a bucket of beer which was a big of a money making scheme really so we didn’t end up playing and we didn’t want to drink that night to save on money. Everyone should be able to play as some people don’t drink alcohol. We enjoyed to music quiz we found that was a good laugh. The music was very good in the bar and the dj was great. We also found out you couldn’t buy bottled water which was disappointing so we went to the shop to get bottles. They only have one water dispenser in the full building which is very inconvenient and should have one on every floor. we thought the monkey punch was great and did get you drunk with the free shots. Our only recommendation is that you do this promotion later as 7-8 is still quite early if you don’t go out till 12. Overall wasn’t the best and wouldn’t recommend for backpackers on a budget.

Everything is okay if you are looking for something that you can comfortably sleep esp if youbare just here for work. There’s an available canteen ang convenient store within the building. Only 1 thing that’s important for me that is not available, the water heater is not working.

I had a good time with Bunks Hostel, the place is quiet. I think the only problem is the turning on and off of the pc. Keeper has to get in just to turn it off and on other than that everything was very well.

The location is great, a few minutes away from North Bus Terminal and SM City Cebu. There's a 711, and snack stalls nearby, and a few blocks are some fast foods and commercial areas. I just hope they update the facade, cos its kinda mess and hard to look for. The capsules are okay, just enough to cater your tired body after each day tours. There is a common area, and kitchen utensils are available if you wish to use one. There are a total of 4 bathrooms available, you can choose which one fits you, there are some that are tiny for me, Im 5'8 ”tall. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Wifi connection is great!

The cheapest hotel I could find. Stayed for 15 days. The rooms was on 4th floor nice and clean. I say rooms because halfway through our stay our air conditioning unit gave out so we were relocated(for free) to another room. The employees were all kind and willing to help with everything we needed. Location is nice. Almost next to Ayala mall and the general area is safe and easy to navigate/find transport in the form of either jeepney or bus. Decor is a bit gloomy and outdated. That beige on the walls is the only thing I disliked. It is by no means a 5 star hotel but it's a bargain for its price(15 euros a night) anyone would be stupid to pass. I recommend it to everyone who want to visit Cebu on a budget. We didn't taste their kitchen or visit the gym they have.

imagine spending 10 nights here with a price equivalent to 2 nights in a 3-4 star hotel in cebu. it has steady wifi connection, airconditioning unit, unlimited drinking water supply, cable TV, clean linens, hot & cold shower (never mind the lacking bidet) 24-hour security, among others. it is really a bargain considering that it is only 5-10 minutes away from colon, the busiest and oldest st in entire cebu. don't expect breakfast, they don't sell food. bring your own toiletries (soap, shampoo, toothpaste & toothbrush). they don't provide a steady supply. and for the 10 days i've stayed there, not even once did they tidy up my room nor changed my linens. manage your expectations.

Price-wise, it is quite a value for money, given the fact that it is close to the Provincial Capitol, Cebu Doctors Hospital and the rest of the businesses around Escario. The rooms are relatively clean, although the mismatched slippers somehow give a weird impression. I moved from a twin room to a double room and found that the room setup for both rooms are based on the twin room setup... the headboard in the double room is on BOTH SIDES of the bed, not above it. Plus, the only outlet in the room is found a foot above the bed. Boiling water would actually mean laying the kettle on the bed. Hot and cold shower in the bathroom, toilet has bidet (I know this is somewhat important to local guests) Staff are friendly, from the guard to the front office staff to the housekeeping. Breakfast is adequate and served in a room that desperately needs acoustic paneling. The laundromat in front of the hotel is run by a wonderful lady.

The room is decent but could be better. Positive side: The airconditioner is cooling well; The shower heats fast; The wifi is fast; TV has ample channels to choose from; Place is considerably peaceful. On the other hand, they could improve on the cleanliness of the place. There are roaches in the room. Linens looked unwashed. But overall, it is a good deal for its price. P.S. One thing I do not understand though is their decision to separate the toilet bowl area from the shower area which are just beside each other anyway. You have to go out after you pee or poo, and enter the shower room next door to take a bath. There is this big partition in the middle occupying a lot of space which could have just been removed so the entire bathroom would be somewhat spacious.

My boyfriend and I come to this hotel very often and we love it! The owner is really helpful, friendly and speaks great English. The hotel is very clean, the rooms are a decent size and well kept. Location is by mango spuare so lots of bars and restaurants and it's about 10minutes to ayala mall. Highly recommend!

Booked through Agoda. Review is based on a P800 plus discounted rate/night. Stayed 9 nights. Negatives: the room was not in a proper state when we moved in. Sink didn't drain. One (1) coat hanger in the closet. No top sheets in the beds (only a blanket.) The hot water is at best lukewarm. Few cable channels. Positives: The room is small but adequate. Clean and well appointed. Shower pressure good. The staff are nice, friendly and helpful. We like the location on Lloriente Street. Easy access to Fuente Osmena through a walkway and Mango area walking in the opposite direction. Good alternatives are Apple Tree Suites and Fuente Pension House on the same street.
