It's relatively close to the tram station and it floats on the Danube, so you won't get lost.
The Danube is within walking distance from the Margaret Bridge, so at night you can see the illuminated Royal Palace from the bridge, which is very romantic.

Although it is a little far from the city center, it was a quiet and comfortable stay.
The hotel was shaped like a ship, and the view from the rooms and restaurant was exactly like that of a ship, but there was no shaking and it looked like a normal building.
Hot food was available for breakfast, and there were many types of bread, so I was very satisfied.
There was also a plastic bottle of water in the room, which saved me the hassle of shopping.
I would like to use it again.

The location is very central, there is a ferry on the Danube River. I would like to thank the friends who work there for their concern. Breakfast is sufficient. Meat is sufficient.

The Fortuna Boat Hotel offers a unique and comfortable stay in Budapest, situated within easy walking distance to the city centre. Though we opted for the convenience of the Uber taxi service, which was easy to book and arrived promptly, the hotel’s location means that you’re never far from major attractions. Breakfast at the Fortuna is a buffet, served between 7.30 and 10.30 am. While the selection stays consistent, it offers a good variety, including fresh fruits, bread, hams, cheeses, pastries, and scrambled eggs with bacon. You won’t find a full English breakfast, but for many, the fresh bread, cereals, and yogurt options are more than adequate. A selection of teas, three juice options, and several coffee choices are available as well. Do note that the breakfast service ends promptly at 10.30 am, and there is no service afterwards. If you're looking for a drink outside of breakfast hours, you can find soft drink cans at reception or request a kettle for in-room use. The rooms are compact, which is typical of being on a boat, but they’re clean, comfortable, and full of character. Expect a quirky, well-maintained space rather than a pristine, modern hotel room. The shower works well, and fresh towels are provided daily. You can also choose whether to have your room cleaned each day. For additional amenities, such as a hairdryer or kettle, simply ask at reception. The hotel’s staff are friendly and helpful, with the breakfast team in particular standing out for their excellent sense of humour. For guests with mobility issues, be aware that the stairs to the upper rooms are steep, so booking a room on the first floor is advisable. If you choose a River Danube view room, the room are quieter as the other side faces the road.

Nice boat rooms basic and fits needs for a short stay. Although the breakfast staff member was a horrible man who liked to talk down to us each morning speak rude and abrupt to us, not only that tell us that the way we speak is incorrect because we pronounce a number different to how he does. When I stated it was because we was from England/London we pronounce it that way, he told us we was incorrect sit down and just eat our food! Never will I stay on this boat while this man remains a member of staff

This was a bit of a unique experience - the first time we have stopped on a boat hotel. Our private transfer from the airport had us there within about 35 minutes. Check in was quick and easy. Our room was upstairs - be warned, the steps up from reception are quite narrow and not ideal if you have any mobility issues. We had plumped for the premium cabin at the end of the boat so had a bit more room then some rooms. The room itself was comfortable and clean and had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. Breakfast wise, standard fare - 2 types of sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs, pastries, cereals to name but a few. More than enough choice to ensure you were set up for the day. In terms of location, the boat is moored not far from Margaret Bridge, giving rise to some lovely night-time views of the illuminated Budapest, especially from the top deck. To get to Parliament Buildings involves a walk of about 15 minutes or so. For those so inclined there is a McDonalds within a few minutes walk. Don't be put off by the outside appearance - it does look a little bit "tired" but the interior makes up for it. If I had to level any criticism, it would be that although there was a kettle with tea and coffee provided, you have to purchase small cartons of milk separately. If you fancy a city break with accommodation that is slightly out of the ordinary - go for it !

Stayed here 17th - 20th February 2025. Really enjoyed our stay, Room was as you'd expect on a boat, quite compact but the bed was big enough for the two of us and I'm a large gentleman. Equally the bathroom was compact but plenty of room to do what you have to do. We literally sleep & wash in our room on city breaks so it was perfect. The entire boat was clean and all the staff were pleasant and welcoming. I always find if you learn a couple of words and phrases in the language of where you're visiting, the people are always more responsive & open. Breakfast was all good and plentiful. I'm not a continental breakfast lover so it was great to have scrambled eggs, sausages and bacon as a choice. The hotel itself is moored at the end of Margaret Island, so about 10-15 mins to parliament, 45 mins to the funicular to get to Buda Castle district. We generally walk everywhere and clocked up 34 miles over the four days, but there are plenty of travel options around the city including Uber. We would definitely recommend staying here.

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Fortuna Boat Hotel. The hotel is extremely clean and all of the staff were welcoming and helpful. The rooms are a bit dated but have everything you need. The bathroom is small but we expected that on a boat. The breakfast was really good, the breads and scrambled egg was delicious. The location was great, it was only a 10/15 minutes walk to parliament and the main tourist areas. It was minus 7 at night but the room was warm and there was plenty of hot water. I would definitely stay again.

Staff mostly rude and unfriendly When I questioned them on checkout about bill for tourist tax as there were other charges on it they couldn't understand me. Very basic accommodation also 10 minute walk from tram to get to main areas. Would not stay again
