Guest UserThis is genuinely the best hotel I stayed at during my trip to the Northwest. I found out about it last year when I was planning my trip and saw it highly recommended by many users on Xiaohongshu. At the time, I wondered if it could really be that good, thinking it might just be a paid advertisement because the descriptions were so glowing. But after staying here, I realized it wasn't an ad at all – it really is that amazing. So much so that later, when we went to other places, my friends often compared other hotels to this one, saying this one was still better (and we even stayed in more expensive hotels on the trip, so please don't argue that it's just about the price, thanks).
First off, they offer complimentary airport pick-up and drop-off, which you just need to book in advance – and it's free!
Secondly, the service attitude is absolutely fantastic. From the moment I arrived, through check-in, and until I checked out, they always helped me with my luggage. My bags were seriously heavy, so I was incredibly happy about that!
What's more, the hotel provides free laundry service. The best part is that they'll come to your room to pick up your laundry and then deliver it back to you once it's done. Finally, no more staring at the washing machine and trying to time when to go get my clothes! I'd come back in the evening to find my clothes clean and even a fruit platter waiting for me on the table!
In the evenings, they offer complimentary milk or dessert; you just need to call the front desk if you want it. The room also has a foot-soaking tub, complete with bath salts and hot water, which is incredibly thoughtful.
Finally, when I checked out, I mentioned I needed an invoice. I actually forgot about it later, but then the hotel called me to ask if I still needed one! Oh my goodness, it's the first time I've encountered such an amazing hotel. I will definitely stay here again next time!!!

Khanh Dong ChhangOur stay at Colorful Danxia Flower House Hotel was truly exceptional—easily a 5-star experience. From the moment we arrived, the owner went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, even personally helping us carry our luggage upstairs. His hospitality didn’t stop there—he kindly assisted us in booking tickets for a local show and even drove us there himself, which made our trip so much more convenient and enjoyable.
The room was spotless, one of the cleanest we’ve stayed in, and it was clear that great care is taken to maintain high standards. We also really appreciated the free laundry service, which was incredibly helpful during our travels.
The location is perfect—just a short walking distance to the west entrance of the Danxia park, making it easy to explore. Right across the hotel is a fantastic restaurant, so finding great food was effortless.
To top it all off, the owner even prepared thoughtful departing gifts for us, which was such a warm and memorable touch. His kindness and attentiveness truly set this place apart. If you’re visiting the area, this hotel is an outstanding choice.

Guest UserAs someone who frequently stays in hotels, I found the hardware facilities to be good, but the service fell short. My overall experience was not great. Here are a few points I found unsatisfactory:
1. The communication during check-in wasn't pleasant, though they did allow me to check in early.
2. The breakfast quality was decent, but there were too few seats in the restaurant. Having to walk around with my food, searching for and waiting for a table, is something I've rarely encountered.
3. I saw food delivery drivers going directly to guest rooms multiple times. Do they not need a key card to access floors?
4. The toiletries were in wall-mounted dispensers that required a lot of force to use, especially the conditioner. This was particularly difficult for me as I had an injury on my hand.
5. I had confirmed a late checkout until 3 PM via Trip.com. I understand the front desk might not have been aware, and a simple phone confirmation would have sufficed. However, I found their passive-aggressive tone about me not mentioning it proactively to be unprofessional.
I won't list other minor issues. Personally, I don't expect hotel staff to be overly enthusiastic, but they shouldn't make guests feel uncomfortable. The 2-star service rating is specifically for the two ladies at the restaurant's front desk around 9:30 AM on the 20th. They were consistently warm and greeted guests throughout my stay, leaving a strong positive impression.
On the positive side, the hotel facilities are new, the room layout is good, and the soundproofing is effective. It's located near a plaza or residential buildings, so it's not noisy. The hotel is also very close to Zhangye West Station, and with a parking lot, it's convenient for those traveling by car.

The front desk service was warm and professional, and check-in was efficient and quick. The staff were gentle and polite, showing thoughtfulness in every detail. The hygiene, facilities, and service were all top-notch, offering great value for money. It's an excellent choice for any trip, and I'll prioritize staying here again next time. Highly recommended!

After comparing several accommodations for my trip to Zhangye Danxia, I chose Kaoshan Daying (Back Mountain Camp). The Starry Sky Yurt was what truly captivated me, and my entire stay exceeded expectations – highly recommended!
Location-wise, the camp is right next to the West Gate of the Danxia scenic area, making travel incredibly convenient. No need for roundabout detours; I could step out early in the morning to catch the Danxia sunrise. This fantastic location also saved me a lot of effort when it came to stargazing at night.
Now, let's talk about the Starry Sky Yurt. Before I arrived, I was a bit worried about roughing it in a tent out in the wilderness, but my stay completely changed my mind. The yurt was spotlessly clean and tidy, well-ventilated with no strange odors. The bed was soft and comfortable, and despite the large temperature swings in the Gobi Desert between day and night, the interior was well-insulated and never felt cold or damp. The en-suite bathroom was excellent, with 24-hour hot water and a full range of toiletries. It truly offered a luxurious wilderness experience that blended comfort with ambiance, without compromising on daily conveniences.
However, the panoramic skylight at the top of the yurt was the real highlight and the biggest surprise of my trip. The camp is far from the city, meaning almost no light pollution. As night fell, the entire sky was unblocked and spread out above me. I didn't even have to step outside into the wind; I could lie in bed and gaze up at the countless stars. The Milky Way stretched clearly across the mountains, with stars so bright and dense – a magnificent night sky rarely seen in the city. Lying there quietly, watching the celestial river flow and listening to the distant Gobi breeze, all my travel fatigue slowly melted away. It was incredibly romantic and healing.
The camp's amenities were also very thoughtful. In the evening, you can enjoy a starlit BBQ and hotpot. After dinner, there's a bonfire party. Then, after a stroll, you return to your yurt to continue enjoying the tranquil starry sky. The self-driving parking area is spacious, and RV resupply facilities are comprehensive. The staff were warm and meticulous in their service; they thoughtfully informed me of the best stargazing times and were always on hand to help with any issues.
The unique Danxia mountain light show at night, coupled with the vast starry sky, created a multi-layered and stunning view. The special clear-broth suoyang hotpot was authentic and generously portioned, perfect for a hot meal after a day of exploring. Whether you're traveling as a couple or with friends, the Starry Sky Yurt is an exceptionally suitable choice. You can admire the Danxia landforms up close and immerse yourself in lying under the Milky Way – it perfectly combines natural beauty with comfortable accommodation. This is an unmissable gem when visiting Danxia, and I will definitely choose the Starry Sky Yurt again on my next trip to Zhangye.

Guest UserChoosing this hotel for my trip truly exceeded my expectations! The location is absolutely fantastic; it's super convenient for dining out, visiting attractions, and getting taxis. Plus, they offer free parking. The room was spotless, the bathroom was dry and odor-free, the bedding was soft and skin-friendly, and the mattress was just right – not too soft, not too firm. The soundproofing was excellent, allowing me to get a full, peaceful night's sleep after a long day of travel. The front desk staff were gentle and attentive, making check-in and check-out quick and efficient. Any requests I had were promptly addressed. The hot water, air conditioning, and Wi-Fi all worked perfectly and were very stable. It offers incredible value for money, and I will definitely prioritize staying here again if I'm ever in the area. I highly recommend it to anyone traveling!

Anonymous UserThe hotel is a fantastic choice, conveniently located just a 10-minute walk from Beisi Grottoes and a 3-minute walk from the scenic bus station. If you're driving, you can park right outside the hotel, which is great for being among the first to climb the 33-day ascent in the morning – truly a VIP experience! You can buy the full ticket package at the ticket office early in the morning and skip the scenic bus ticket, as the ride is free.
It can get a bit chilly in the evenings at the hotel this time of year, as there's no heating, so it's perfect if you like to turn in early and wake up early. The soundproofing in the rooms really depends on how noisy other guests are.
Breakfast is 15 RMB per person, freshly made and hot, which is decent.

Guest UserThe hotel is located at a super convenient distance from the Dafo temple and there are many nice eateries around. The room is generally clean and breakfast is nice. Although I booked a non-smoking room but there is a constant cigarette smell in the room. I suspect it might be due to the air ventilation duct, so it is spread to my room when other guest smoke in their rooms. Although the staff uses air refresher to help reduce the smell but it's effect is temporary.

I highly recommend this guesthouse to anyone visiting the ancient city! Its advantages are outstanding: the staff are friendly, the rooms are spacious and spotless, with no lingering cigarette smell, which is great for non-smokers. The floor-to-ceiling windows are a real highlight, offering expansive and comfortable views of both ancient city architecture and natural wetland scenery. Parking is free, and laundry facilities are convenient, making it suitable for both short and long stays, especially for those traveling by car. It's also close to the night market, offering a fantastic selection of characteristic BBQ for dinner. Areas for improvement: the air conditioning was a bit weak, and the shower water pressure was insufficient. I suggest the owner checks the equipment; fixing these would definitely elevate the guest experience.
