"Highly recommend. We live in China and have stayed in a few different cities/hotels now and this was by far the best. The building is historic and beautiful and extremely well maintained. The rooms feel brand new and are very thoughtfully laid out. The room comes with all kinds of small conveniences in case you forgot something or need something. The staff were all extremely helpful and welcoming, from the front office staff to the housekeeping to the repair men. We arrived late on a stormy night and they went out of their way to help us figure out dinner. When the weather got worse and spoiled our plans, the staff did everything they could to rescue the weekend, even at the hotels expense. We plan to come back again when the weather is nicer and will 100% stay here. I can't imagine why you would stay anywhere else, especially if you're there to sightsee. The hotel opens directly into the park, it's wonderful."

"I don't want to tell you how good this B&B is, otherwise I probably wouldn't be able to book it next time. There is no way to hide it anymore. This is the best place to escape from the crowds and relax. The owner and the boy are very considerate and personally teach you how to grill skewers, which is a plus."

"We were warmly welcomed on checking in, and were pleasantly surprised to be given a complimentary upgrade, followed by a room with a waterfront view. The travel desk offered private English-speaking tours to various locations; we took the tour to the famed Mountain Resort 避暑山庄. Hospitality provided by the reception desk was graciously warm. All-in-all, I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone staying over, even if it were just for 1 night."

"Good location, clean hotel, nice breakfast. The hotel even deliver dessert to the room after dinner time. I have parcel not able to reach the hotel and the receptionist, 赵丽伟and her colleagues were helping me to contact the delivery man to make sure my parcel can arrive hotel on time. Really appreciate their help on this matter. Overall, it is recommended to stay in this hotel in Chengde."

"Nice stay for 1 night in Chengde. Great service, free parking lots, friendly and helpful staff. Room, very clean, bright with a grand view to the river. Bathroom divided in tube/shower, toilet room and make-up space. Breakfast with a great choice of Chinese food. Just a few things related with international breakfast. The hotel is located not directly to many shops and restaurants. We took a taxi to the recommended restaurants and scenic places."

"If you’re a foreigner traveling to Chengde, I would totally recommend that you stay at this hotel! The location is great! It’s close to three temples - Puning Temple, Waiba Temple and Putuo Temple. Also, it’s a 15 min walk to the Chengde Museum. By car, it’s about 8 minutes to the Summer Resort (or a 50-minute walk if you like walking 😄). People are friendly and nice at the hotel. They spoke to me in Chinese, but because I speak Chinese. They went above and beyond to make sure I had a lovely stay, helping me with delivery and buying tickets for the Kangxi Ceremony. If I go again, I’ll definitely stay there again. 谢谢！"

"Stayed over for one night at the Hilton Garden Inn hotel at Chengde. The entrance to the hotel was congested with cars. The parking attendance in front of the hotel wasn't really helpful when my driver dropped us off to check in to the hotel. What he cares was just faster unload and removed the car form that area. He offered no help at all. I was not sure if the parking attendance was employed by the Hilton hotel. If yes then the service was really not up par with the Hilton standard for customer service standard. We carried one large luggages and few smaller bags. We have to carry it over few flights of stairs to get in to the hotel entrance. The sliding path to get into the hotel entrance was not located in front of the hotel entrance but was hidden at the side that was obscured or partially blocked by the parking car at the front. The reception lady was very friendly though. We were given high floor and she scanned my WeChat to easy contact with the hotel later. The hotel room was very spacious and beautiful but the room was stuffy. Only one tiny small window was able to open a little bit to let the outside air go in. The afternoon temperature was as high as 25 degrees Celcius and rather HOT inside the room. We cannot adjust the aircon in the room as it is central setting! Called to the reception to ask why the room air con can't be adjusted and it seems not working but was told it is central setting. Well, you paid a lots to stay at the hotel without proper ventilation but to rely on the outside air to go in the tiny window. Despite the hotel facility was complete but we still cannot really enjoy and sleep comfortably as we felt HOT. The hotel separates the bathroom from toilet. The washing basin was outside of the bathroom. The breakfast was good with lots of variety. After checking out, I realised I might have left my traveller adaptor in the room. Immediately Isent a text to the hotel via WeChat but to my disappointment, it took two days for them to reply my message asking me to self contact the front desk counter to ask yourself?! What kind of service of that??? Asking hotel guest to add them on WeChat but still asking us to self call the front desk? Not all tourists will have local Sim card to make phone call. That is really a disappointment. They should have offered a better service by checking with the front desk counter and then get back to us via WeChat. This Hilton is definitely still a long way to go to achieve better rating. The hotel is closed to q night market that offers lots of street foods. There was one food stall that offer very palatable Chu Cheong fun. The experience was not pleasant for my one night stay."

"The hotel was really lovely, especially the location was top class being close to the river and to the palace as well as the city centre. The staff was really helpful and friendly as well. As for the room it was spotless and even though we got given a smoking room it didn't smell. All in all pleasant experience."

"The room is clean and bright, with a good view. It is in a residential area, not facing the street, and very quiet. There are tents, dolls, building blocks, and picture books in the room, so children can play by themselves for a long time. The service was very good and attentive. The Chinese restaurant on the second floor is cost-effective and tastes good."

"Xiao Yang from the reservation department offered praise, called many times to confirm the needs, and tried his best to meet the requirements. The children liked it very much. Hotel location: More than ten minutes' drive from Chengde South Station, ten minutes' walk from Wanda, and across the courtyard is Rehe Spa The facilities are very new and look like a high-end hotel. The hotel beds are on the hard side, the pillows and quilts are good, and the hygiene is good. Swimming pool: The swimming pool facilities on the 22nd floor are good. The water has no smell, but it is not particularly clean. The water temperature is low and the depth is 1.2-1.5. Bring your own swimming ring or buy one. The children have a great time. Breakfast: It's pretty average. It's not as good as the reviews, but it's not too bad either. If you don't have high hopes, you won't be disappointed. It is recommended to add local specialties. Environment: Children can feed the fish in the Chinese-style courtyard over there, and the colorful lights at the door are nice. Spa: The hotel provides spa tickets, and everything there is free of charge. The price of drinks is good, less than 8 yuan, and the price of meals is okay, but a bit salty. The service is good and enthusiastic, and the equipment is new and clean. The children had a lot of fun soaking in the pool. There is a naughty castle and a sand pool for children, and they need to buy socks. The waiter will help look after the children. Disadvantages: The elevator door does not sense and may be pinched. There is no need to give a bottle of water as a souvenir. Will recommend to friends, worth coming again."
