Xichen Inn Reviews

Xichen is well located near the Simatai Great Wall and the 2 main performance areas for the light show and drone show. The staff are courteous, friendly and helpful. The room is clean and spacious and breakfast is good too. We would highly recommend this hotel if you intend to spend a night in Gubei Water Town.

In Gubei Watertown, we stayed at Xichen Inn. We chose the Duplex Family Room A. This room type can accommodate up to 4 guests with a maximum of 4 adults. Bed type: 2 Kang (Chinese traditional bed). Overall, it is a nice Inn and we are very satisfied with the services. The location is not far from Simatai Great Wall cable car and hot spring. All within walking distance.

Very conveniently located within the central of Gubei town. Everything is within a small walk from my room. Exterior looks very ancient and interesting. Inside the room is very clean and comfortable. They even provided a voucher for hot spring which is about 5 mins walk away. Hot spring was superb after a long day. The entrance to taking the cable car up simatai section of the Great Wall is just 3-5mins walk away. Making it extremely convenient. Night views are superb and a must GO for everyone visiting the gubei water town.

Stayed end Mar 2025. Simatai Great Wall is the main reason why to stay this hotel within Gubei Water Town. Ideal to stay as Great Wall open from 9am, we easily access without crowd. The Breakfast provided by hosts were famulous! especially the noodles!

This hotel is the perfect blend of traditional and modern styles. The old town design is preserved, but the facilities are updated to meet the needs of modern travelers. The family room, with its unique layout of up and down stairs, provides ample space for us to relax. The room also beautiful and offers essential amenities such as hot water, air conditioning, and complimentary tea and snacks. The hotel serves delicious buffet breakfast. I enjoy the traditional gubei breakfast!

Good, very near to the cable car station to Great Wall

Xichen Inn is very old from the outside surrounding but has clean and comfortable room. We took a bus from Beijing Bus Station, each person 48 yuan to Gubei Bus station about 2 hrs journey. Xichen Inn is located in Gubei Ancient Water Town. From the entrance of Gubei Ancient Water Town you can board a free shutter bus to Xichen Inn. Xichen Inn is very close to Simatai Great Wall of China, walking from Xichen Inn about 80m. Xichen Inn is surrounded by all the places of interest in Gubei Ancient Water Town. Good breakfast provided. Good diiner near Xichen Inn. Receptionist is very helpful.

Good location, Good Service dan clean

Breakfast was simple but delicious. Very nice toilet with amenities in family room, room is v clean. Courtyard is pretty. The place is so convenient for the fountain show and walk to Great Wall. However, Lugging luggage to/from the inn is inconvenient. The cobbled pavement and stairs will mean that a porter must be available to help. The staff is polite and helpful, quick to accommodate to your needs. Just a suggestion to have blackout curtains in room. Thank you v much for a lovely stay.

Nice Hotel ,Clean and comfortable

Facilities: Very good, the room has the characteristics of the ancient town, high roof, courtyard like a quadrangle, the room is also very spacious, the air conditioning is also easy to use, the air conditioning needs to be turned on on the night of 5.1. Hygiene: relatively clean. Environment: very quiet, living here really feels like a vacation, there are rattan chairs in the yard, you can sit in the sun. Service: The boss is very enthusiastic, and took the initiative to introduce the performances and locations of the ancient town. As soon as we checked in, he asked about the staple food we needed for breakfast the next day, personally helped carry our luggage to the room, and took the initiative to lend us an umbrella when it rained the next day. The breakfast was very rich and the food was very good. I highly recommend this inn.
