Ideal location to be out of the crowd and close to major metro and bus stations. The hotel also kindly arranged a room suitable for my father-in-law having difficulty with his leg. Thank you!
Pros:
1. The price didn't fluctuate much, even during an exhibition.
2. There's a large shopping mall right across the street.
3. It's a short taxi ride to the beachfront. I recommend checking out the trendy restaurant, Xiringuito Escriba (see pic). It's about a 1.8 km walk back to the hotel after your meal.
4. There's a taxi stand right outside the hotel, which is a bonus for those who can't figure out the Spanish ride-sharing apps.
Cons:
1. One of the front desk staff had poor English. When I asked if there was complimentary bottled water, they said no. Turns out, there was water in the room, along with a capsule coffee machine.
2. The towels were old and discolored.
3. Breakfast was 23 euros. Most nearby breakfast spots on Dianping (a Chinese review app) only open at 9:30 AM. After a long search, I found a fantastic cafe about 200 meters away (near the Hilton) under an office building that opens at 7:30 AM (see pic). I finally got my dream ham baguette there. This place isn't marked on Dianping.
4. The room facilities are outdated, a bit uncomfortable. It feels like something from 20 years ago in China.
The room was larger than expected, with plenty of space for two open suitcases. There's an airport shuttle stop nearby, and the metro and bus stations aren't far either. It's also a short distance from La Boqueria Market and El Corte Inglés.
Excellent standard of hotel in a quiet but very convenient location. Superior room was spacious and very comfortable. Great shower and air conditioning. Much better than we expected for the price, we even had a small balcony which was lovely. Will definitely return on a future trip.
