Sunriver Hotels with Bars

We have rented homes from Sunriver Resort for years. My family lives close so it is a nice place to stay while visiting. Every June we rent a house and have a moms weekend away as well. It is an expensive place to stay, but doable with time to save. We have a family member with a seasonal job there and we were able to use the friends and family code to stay a few weeks ago (first time we could ever use it) so we decided to go since it was more affordable for us (50% discount). Our family member had their last day earlier in the week from our arrival and so the code was not honored. We do not run our own business this way with seasonal employees, but we can understand the policy. The problem was that they then charged us a nightly rate that was way over the price when we booked and way higher than anything showing on their current online calendar. I called the director of guest relations, Scott Orman to discuss honoring the price that was stated when we booked ($306) or at least closer to the prices that were being shown (highest being $326). The price was a big shock to us, paying over $1000 for 2 nights in a condo. It was a very stressful bill for us at the time. I have never been treated so poorly by someone who is supposed to be a professional person in my life. I was actually shocked at Scott Orman’s tone/voice level and lack of care or concern for his customers. At one point I asked to speak to someone else because of how disrespectful he was being. He told me that he was “the director of guest relations, so I had reached the top of the ladder and that he treats all of his customers that way”. The conversation ended with him hanging up on me. We will not be returning to a place that treats people this way and we will no longer be sending friends and our guests to them.
