SoberfishieI have absolutely loved my stay here! My room was just perfect with a little plunge pool directly facing brilliant sunsets each night. The bed is massive and super comfy and they use lovely linen and fluffy towels! The staff are all so friendly and always make an effort to say hi whenever they see you. There are plenty of sunbeds and the beach is gorgeous.
There are a few negatives but these are only for info only really.
The resort is just that .. a resort. There’s not a lot around here .. a few makeshift mini marts and a couple of local restaurants. Apparently it takes 1 hour 45 mins to walk to Saracen Bay where there’s a bit more going on and I decided against that!
I did get the taxi boat to Saracen Bay which I highly recommend, but it was quite treacherous getting on and off the boats and ensured I wasn’t in a hurry to do it again! The taxi is not free .. which I think is a shame based on the room rate .. and costs $10 return. Perhaps it would be more popular to do a ride there and back each day rather than separate trips for $10 a pop?
I think the hotel could benefit from having a shop with products in like beauty products and chocolate and maybe offer some essential services like waxing in the spa? Just ideas to consider ..
I will be sad to leave this little bit of heaven and hope to come back one day .. it’s been just lovely .. thank you 🌴

I never write proper reviews, but I'll write one for this one. The beach and surroundings are absolutely gorgeous, and the service from the front desk and shuttle driver is impeccable. They even brought food to my room when it was too hot at midday. The only downside is the bed; it's very soft and one side sags, making it uncomfortable to sleep on. Otherwise, I'm very satisfied. At just over 1000 yuan a night, it's quite cost-effective. The hotel is also beautiful with modern decor. I recommend staying in a sea-view room for convenience.

Fantastic hotel! The room (Deluxe Side View) was spacious with all the amenities you could need. The bed was really comfortable and the water was hot. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful, from reception to restaurant staff to bar staff. The beach area was gorgeous, white sands. We hotel arranged a night trip to swim in bioluminescent plankton. Highly recommended, like swimming with fairies in the ocean! The food and cocktails were delicious and reasonably priced.

Sam PichWithout a doubt, one of the best ocean-view rooms I’ve experienced in Sihanoukville. The views were stunning, the breakfast selection was excellent, and the huge swimming pool made the stay even more enjoyable.

Bit of a mixed bag at this place but with some easy tweaks it could be perfection.
Good : Location, beach is clean, food is tasty, bar prices are good and Nas the bar manager makes a great cocktail, breakfast is plentiful and varied, pool is clean, sun beds, towels and paddleboards are available. Bioluminescence plankton is visible but you have to swim out away from the bright resort lights.
Bad : Room type Beach View Villa - Lots of mosquitos in the room as the bathroom is not sealed, would be good if they gave you a net for the bed and room spray as I got badly bitten overnight. Wifi is really bad, you only have 1 plug socket for the entire room which isn't next to the bed, the lights are either all on or all off (the wall lights are decoration apparently so aren't wired up) and again the switch isn't near the bed, and you have nowhere to hang clothes or swim wear to dry, a line or rack would be really useful.
Basically without tweaks the beachfront villa are overpriced.
The staff were incredibly helpful when trying to resolve issues. I would return but would book a Sea View Room which are slightly cheaper, sealed and had great WiFi.

Wallace TeoNovotel Sihanoukville – My Honest Review
I recently stayed at Novotel Sihanoukville with my family, and unfortunately, the overall experience was below my expectations.
The first issue was the hotel's policy on outside food and drinks. There is a sign clearly stating that outside food and beverages are not allowed. However, it doesn't seem to be enforced. The corridor on my floor was constantly filled with strong food smells, and even my kids' room was affected. The smell became so unpleasant that I had to request the hotel to spray the room.
I also noticed that some rooms appeared to have more than five guests staying together. I'm not sure whether the hotel allows this or whether it is being monitored properly. I strictly followed the hotel policy and booked two rooms for my family, so it felt a little unfair if others were not following the same rules.
As for the food, both the seafood dinner buffet and breakfast were just average. They were acceptable, but they did not meet the standard I normally expect from an Accor hotel.
The room itself was comfortable enough, but the bathroom ventilation needs improvement. Whenever someone used the toilet, the smell spread throughout the entire room because the exhaust ventilation was not effective.
The biggest highlight of my stay was definitely the hotel staff. Every team member I interacted with was friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. From the reception team to the restaurant staff and the swimming pool bar crew, they consistently provided excellent service. They were the best part of our stay.
One major disappointment was the swimming pool. The water did not look clean, and it discouraged me from swimming. This was something I really did not expect from a Novotel property.
Overall, I left feeling that the hotel has good potential, especially because of its excellent staff, but the facilities and overall maintenance need improvement. With better enforcement of hotel policies, cleaner facilities, improved ventilation, and higher food quality, I believe the guest experience could be much better.
Overall rating: 2.5 out of 5 stars.

What I liked:
The excellent, comfortable bed and pillows, pristine white linens and towels.
The hotel staff contacted me in advance and helped me book ferry tickets and a car from the pier to the hotel.
The hotel restaurant served quite delicious dishes. Breakfast was also very good, despite the limited selection.
You can use paddleboards for free at the beach. Snorkeling from the shore was also decent; we saw two cuttlefish.
The beach is a dream, with one small caveat. There were always enough sun loungers.
What I disliked:
The beach was littered with plastic remnants from the sandbags used to reinforce the shoreline.
One evening, we ordered a bottle of Prosecco at sunset. The waiter opened it and threw the foil directly onto the sand, shocking us with such disregard for this beautiful place.
Another morning, guests at the neighboring table on the beach had Coke brought to them. By lunchtime, no one had come to clear the glasses and cans. By sunset, the same cans were still lying on the sand; the glass cups, however, seemed to have been collected.
There were also many disappointments with the room: everything was shoddily done, built in a hurry, the furniture was stained with paint, the rug and hat in the room were torn, and in the huge shower, there wasn't a single hook or towel holder. There's also no shower curtain, so the toilet was always wet. Half of the light switches didn't work, and the switches by the bed were swapped. When you leave the room and take the key card, the light above the entrance also turns off, making it quite an adventure to return in the dark and climb the stairs. There's a refrigerator, but it didn't work, and this was the case in two different rooms.
At the entrance to the bungalow and the restaurant, there are hoses to wash sand off your feet, but none of them worked. My husband took one apart and cleaned it, and then it worked.
Conclusion: With proper management and care, this place could turn into paradise.
Things to be prepared for:
In the evenings, there are many mosquitoes or gnats on the beach; they bite hard and itch for a long time. Repellents are essential.
Within walking distance, there's only the neighboring cafe and nothing else. This could be both an advantage and a disadvantage for some.

Hotel as such looks good on the pictures and the rooms are well designed and functional. The view from our room over the harbor nice. But besides the receptionist, no one speaks English, which is not bad as such but the staff, young people, friendly could not communicate and not even ask someone to assist. That's the management issue here.
We had a coffee besides the pool- for 30 minutes no staff to be seen - no house phone to call anyone... When the staff came, friendly again but it took another 25 minutes for two cappuccini. For breakfast you can have American one with tasteless omelette, you can toast your own bread if the toaster is clean.
We tried to order coffee, two cold Americano arrived after 25 minutes and several attempts..
Small bread and condiments buffet never got refilled, only some bread after I showed them what was missing..
Male staff has longer fingernails than my last female English teacher...
The bed sheets were very spotty. Of course we found out only at 11pm when we went to bed. Too tired and too late to ask someone for assistance - or better to say, to explain that with our poor Khmer knowledge....
Anyways, they were washed but spotty and we slept well, the mattress was comfortable.
All in all not to be recommended, and no reason to return!

The water quality was really poor, with a strong disinfectant and sour smell. The pool water was even worse – my friend broke out in a rash all over after swimming. Breakfast was terrible, with very few options. The restaurant next to the hotel played loud rock music until 2:30 AM, and there were incredibly loud bird calls every night right next to the hotel, making it impossible to sleep. The shower water temperature was too low; it was practically a cold shower. I definitely won't be staying here again; the value for money is just too low.

The proximity to the stunning beach is the thing of this hotel. Orher then that, it is basic and worn. Dont expect luxury service, varied breakfasts, new furniture, not stained or not torn sheets , super clean beach. Enjoy the beach, relax, dont push or demand something, take it as it is, and you will be cool :)
