JJBTravelsConveniently located within a couple hundred meters of the Centrale Train station, the hotel is ideally located for getting around town. A comfortable 1km walk sees you in the center of the Old Town and amidst the sites and sounds of a bustling city. The hotel rooms were well appointed and the bed comfortable with decent blackout curtains. The interiors are slightly dated, but clean and well cared for. I would recommend the stay. I didn't eat at the hotel, but they had a well stocked bar with friendly service.

AAnonymous UserIt's an outstanding hostel. There are activities every night and the hostel is located in the middle of city centre and the train station. It's around 10 mins walk from the train station. They provided vegetables and dried pasta for free for guest to cook at the guest kitchen.

PpeanutdogIt's right across the street from the train station. The room was quite large. They initially gave me a twin room, but I asked to change to a double room. Although it faces a main road, it was very quiet. The service was excellent. There was no free water, and no supermarkets nearby, so I bought water at a fast-food restaurant. The breakfast was quite substantial, with a wide variety of options, and it was open for a long time. It was already open when I arrived at 7 am. After breakfast, I walked the Camino de Santiago, and then explored the old town of Bologna. A very beautiful city. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserWish I could give a 10/10 stars for room service and 2/10 for bar. Una hotel has the top notch room service, literally the best one I have ever experienced, which also raised my bar for later trips. Personalized pillows for cervical spondylosis, strict hygiene standards, definitely recommend. However the bar is a bit too annoying. I craved for hot water but there’s no kettle in the room, which is totally fine, so I went to the bar downstairs and asked for a cup of hot water. The water was disgusting with a taste of rusty pipes, and the mug was so dirty with TEA STAIN from bottom to top. I really don’t understand why did he do this to me. I politely asked him if I can have a cup of hot water and thanked him for this, there’s no reason he should serve me a filthy mug.

GGuest UserGood location. Paid (50€) extra to be in the main hotel and not their apartment somewhere nextdoor, not sure if it was worth it. It had a bit of a new spa feeling. All very new, think they are going for a boutique hotel style, but not classy. Nice terrace though.

GGuest UserThe room was good, and the breakfast variety was quite extensive, much better than what we typically encountered in Italy. However, I found some of the service staff a bit unpleasant, and their attitudes weren't great. We also got the distinct impression of subtle discrimination against Chinese guests (though it wasn't overtly obvious, so perhaps we were being oversensitive). For example, my companion recounted that at breakfast, when just two of us sat at a four-person table, a staff member immediately approached us to say that two people couldn't take up a table for four. Yet, moments later, two Caucasian guests sat at a four-person table, and nothing was said to them. There were other similar instances.

GGuest UserThe hostel provides you with the bare necessities, such as a comfortable bed, a spacious room and locker including a lock, and a small bedlight and socket. Unfortunately, that is also literally it and nothing more. There are no curtains for the beds. The bathroom is super weirdly laid out; there is a bathroom with shower, the only toilet and a sink behind a door; then in front of that, there is another sink and a shower. WITH NO DOOR. Making this shower literally unusable. There are two light switches in the bathroom, one that turns on the light in the back bathroom (behind the door) AND a light for the front sink. This means that, if people are sleeping in the bed next to the bathroom, there is literally light shining directly on their face and all the sounds. A problem easily solved by adding a door and curtains on the beds. The bathrooms didn’t have hand soap (they were empty) or any shower amenities (no shower gel). You have to pay if you want a towel, and you also have to make your own bed. There is also a lot of noise from the neighbours, what seems like a student accommodation. At this kind of price range, the level of amenities is terribly disappointing and could be easily solved. I have stayed in hostels all over the world and sadly this one was just one of two options in Bologna, so not much choice. There are really a lot of simple improvements possible that would have made it worth it, but I really cannot say this is value for money at all.

GGuest UserWe called reception for the coffee in our room to be replaced with tea bags waited for an hour no one came Went down to reception myself and asked what was happening as it would not take as long if I went to the restaurant I was rudely spoken to by a woman and told it will come to my room I tried to explain it’s been an hour she was not prepared to help and to my horror it never came I had also offered to pay too
