⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great Location, Cozy Room—Watch the Bed! Vicci Consulado de Bilbao has a fantastic location—right in the heart of the city, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and public transport. It’s perfect for exploring Bilbao on foot. The room itself was stylish and clean, though quite compact. If you’re traveling light, it’s fine, but space is definitely tight. One funny (and slightly painful) moment: I actually fell off the bed! It’s positioned close to the wall and a bit narrow, so maybe not ideal if you toss and turn at night. Despite that, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the overall vibe of the hotel was modern and welcoming. I’d recommend it for solo travelers or couples who don’t mind a snug space and want to be in the middle of the action.

We had such a great time this year for Semana Grande. And the Axel Hotel was in the perfect location for us. Right on the river next to a great spot for drinks and food. The rooftop pool is also a great spot to watch the fireworks! The staff was so helpful and friendly. And although we didn't need housekeeping while we were staying there they offered every day to clean our room or swap out towels or necessities for us. What a great experience. We will definitely be back!

Areas for Improvement: • The breakfast could be more comprehensive and balanced, with a greater variety of healthy options (fresh fruit, whole-grain products, sugar-free/lactose-free alternatives). • Room cleanliness, while acceptable, should be more meticulous in micro-details, consistent with the expected level of a 4-star hotel. • Lack of common areas for socializing, such as a bar, lounge, game room, or other communal spaces that invite guests to spend time outside their rooms. • The hotel parking is functional, but the price is high. Furthermore, there's no free or affordable parking nearby, which is a drawback for those traveling by car. The hotel was in a great location - walking distance to everywhere and only ten minutes from the bus stop coming from the airport. Lots of bars and eateries near-by and not far from the main shopping area in one direction and the football stadium in the other. The bedroom was spacious and clean but pretty basic. The room was quiet. The buffet breakfast was excellent (apart from the coffee) and the hotel had a small bar and seating area that was usually busy. A decent spot that is usually well-priced ( I was there for rugby and it was over-priced!)

The lady at the front desk was very friendly and enthusiastic when we checked in, asking if we needed a map and briefly explaining the surrounding routes. The water pressure in the bathroom was a bit low, and switching between the showerhead settings required some guesswork. Breakfast had a decent variety of choices. It's only about a ten-minute walk from the Guggenheim Museum and the airport bus stop. It would have been better if they had provided information about the airport bus service being suspended on May 1st, as we checked out on Labor Day and waited at the bus stop for over half an hour for nothing.

Beautiful hotel, amazing facilities to work from, one of the best gyms that I’ve been to, it would have been so much more seamless if parking, gym etc were included in the price. Especially if the pool provided by the gym is not available, not having to pay for the gym one would make more sense

Just opposite Metro 50metres in the heart of Bilbao,lovely hostel I have booked 4beds mix dormitory ensuite bathroom and toilet with terrace.The lobby has cafe and coffee shop bar.the restaurant is on 6th floor Overalls I like this hostel very much. Don’t forget get to buy 10 pass metro and bus 8 euros can get 6 trips this card can be used to Funicular to the mountain if u buy there is 3.5 euros return trip 6 euros the pass is very valuable

Choose the hotel for its proximity to the Intermodal bus interchange. We walked to all the main tourist attractions from the hotel. Bilbao is a very walkable city. What sets this hotel apart is the friendliness of the staff. The front counter team is genuinely friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Noemi who went out of her way to help us and gave advice on airline lost luggage. The room is spacious for our needs. The king bed is super comfortable, with just the right firmness. Linen is plush and pillows are fluffy. It has a simple yet functional tea-making facility in the room. The room came with USB charger by bedside, which is essential for today's travellers. We love the bathroom. Well-lit, full-size shower with strong water pressure. You will find the basic amenities (Toothbrush etc) in the bathroom. The cleaner did a good job with the room. The hall and public areas are all spotless. Judging based on the interior, the hotel might have been refurbished not that long ago.

The staff were pleasant and welcoming, and the breakfast was very good. The only slight drawback was the cleanliness of the room and bathroom upon our arrival. However, I would recommend this establishment.

Excellent 4* hotel in the perfect location, 12 minutes walk from both Railway station and Intermodal Bus station. Big room, nice beds, all amenities like tv, aircon, kettle, frige and safe. Real bath and bidet in the bathroom. Looks little bit tired, but ok. The only problem was a plastic card room key with magnetic strip, which had been unmagnetized in my pocket several times with earphones case. Hotel has several bars/restoraunts, including one in the inner garden. And meeting areas for conferences.
