At that time, the hotel network in Moscow, Leningrad, Kiev, Minsk and Tallinn was significantly expanded to accommodate more than 300,000 Olympic guests. It is part of the architectural ensemble of Pobediteley Avenue. The building of the avenue is an architectural, historical and archaeological monument, and the Planeta Hotel itself is an architectural and historical monument. In 2025, the Planeta Hotel celebrated its 45th anniversary.
