The Athenee Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok

I booked an Athenee Suite and was very happy with the size and layout of the room. All the club lounge staff and the general staff are very friendly and helpful and you are made to feel very welcome. When I made the booking I requested an early check-in and was advised that this was a busy period but the hotel would do it's best . After landing at Bangkok Airport at 6.00am I arrived at the hotel about 7.30am and naturally the room was not ready so I went out and returned at about 2.00pm. The room was not actually ready until 2.50pm so it was a waste of time asking for the early check-in. This was the only disappointing aspect of my stay. The breakfast at the ground floor restaurant is great with a huge selection to choose from and the omelette station is very quick. Thanks to this restaurant and the club lounge I have developed a craving for the Thai milk tea. Altogether a very enjoyable stay.

The property is relatively new and is situated along the On Nut BTS 5 mins walk which was conveniently accessible location wise. The rooms are spacious with a splendid decor given the value for money per night. The reception team was fantastic, friendly and warm during my 15 days at the property. Housekeeping always maintained the rooms to be spotless. I would highly recommend this place to all travellers visiting here. Special thanks to Sandy the duty manager, Pop and BB for all you wonderful assistance to make my stay pleasant and productive. I will return soon in the future for sure!

Please be BEWARE of this Hotel which uses dubious absurd methods of charging you extra for ridiculous things. The. Hotel manager was extremely rude with zero ownership to mistakes she's totally unfit to be in the service industry. Horrible experience. I had encountered the most unpleasant and ridiculous encounter upon checking out. I was forced by the manager to-pay a half day stay rate at ala carte rate for “ mistakes “ made by the staffs . Due to late ✈️, I had requested for a late checkout if possible 1 day before the checking out day . The staff on duty told me that the latest complimentary extension she can give me was until 3.30pm to checkout . Next morning, I even went down to the receptionist counter to double confirm about checking out timing at 3.30pm and get the staff to extend the room card , again that’s no mention of any additional charge . However upon checking out , a woman who claimed that she’s the manager of the hotel demanded me to pay a half day ala cart room Room , saying that late checkout is chargeable ! She was totally unapologetic, she just argued that the 2 different staffs that attended to me about checkout requests earlier on did not inform me about that it’s the property policy that there will be additional charge rendered because they ARE NEW staffs , but nevertheless I still need to foot for the additional half day room rate ! Totally dishonest management, I felt so cheated and it’s absolutely absurd ! Great disappointment for such dishonest management to exist and no ownership of the mistakes made at their end . Please be aware !

Restaurant is basic but still great for lounging and a fast bite if you aren’t into street food or dining out. Staff was a nice and welcoming and willing to assist in any way possible. Rooms are decent size and the hotel is clean. I actually stayed here in 2020 for 29 days (moved for 1 day and immediately returned) and happily returned this past visit of 2024. The price is very, very reasonable and the location was an amazing, very walkable to nightlife and many shopping areas.

I chose the hotel since it's my first solo trip. And I'm glad that I've made the right choice and to have breakfast at the hotel. I was able to relax in the clean comfortable room and bed with great view, felt secured as the surrounding is well lit even at night and it's convenient as it's opposite Emporium mall and Phrom Phong BTS is just a few mins walk away. There are a few massage places just a step away too. All of the staff are courteous, friendly and smiley. The receptionists were accommodating on my requests of the room etc. The pool, on the highest floor, is decent and quiet to hang in the early morning before it gets crowded. I enjoyed getting a little sun, breeze and some quiet time with my book. As for the breakfast, don't expect international buffet lines, but the varieties were suited for all international guests. I especially enjoyed the fresh greens available throughout the 3 days. That said, I wish to bring attention on few points to improve. i. I wish there are more movie channels available as majority are either local dramas or variety shows. ii. I realised that staff at the reception only greet the male guests as I leave the hotel for the day. iii. The pastries need to be improved as they're dry and lack buttery fragrance. Overall, I still enjoyed my stay at Mercure and will definitely return, be it another solo trip or with my family.

This is a great new hotel n the heart of Bangkok. I like the apartment style feel of this hotel. The rooms are well designed and spacious. The kitchenette features is an added bonus.
