Legian
Good location , within distance to the beach , comfortable enough if looking for cheaper hotel. Just the breakfast menu is not my taste and same breakfast menu almost every day. Overall, I like to stay and might come back again

Hotel is in a great location right on Mertasari beach. Unfortunately the hotel has been neglected throughout covid and is in need of a make over. The room was ok for the price and the breakfast buffet was sufficient. The staff were happy and helpful.

Kuta
This hotel never fails to amazed me with their warm service and helpful staff. starting from reservation confirmation, check-in process and my departure, all staffs showed a great deal of true warm hospitality. As the privilege of my platinum membership, they gladly upgraded my room to suite room. It was one great experience. Their suite room located uniquely near the pool with a great view to the famous Kuta Beach. The room itself is spacious, clean and comfy. One thing missing was, they didn't cater alcoholic beverages as welcome drink for platinum member.. LOL...

After spending 2 weeks in busy and noisy Legian, we fancied a change for our last week and chose the Mercure for a quieter stay. Our room, 406, is on the top floor and pretty quiet. It is a bright and airy room and the bathroom/toilet/shower combination works well, although a little unusual. It is a 10 minute stroll to the many shops and restaurants and although clearly not as busy as Legian, it is busy enough. A further 10 minute walk, takes you to the Bali collection, where there are more up market shops and restaurants. The hotel operates a free shuttle to the beach on a regular basis. There is also a mini bus that runs to the Bali collection, again, on a regular basis. The private beach, part of a huge one, has sun beds and a few umbrellas and towels are available. Many of the restaurants offer a free taxi back to your hotel. The pool is excellent and very child friendly. We had decided against breakfast at the hotel, preferring to try different places, BUT we struggled to find any! One we did find, the Pause Cafe, although serving good food, had limited options and was far more expensive than the hotel! The buffet at the hotel is good, lots of choice, although the coffee was Balinese and not to our taste! The staff are friendly and helpful. A few minor complaints. They don’t deliver hand towels, when cleaning the room( a fairly common complaint apparently) and don’t renew the towels every day and some of the ones we got, were well past their sell by date! To get access to information on the hotel’s facilities, you need to scan with a mobile, which we don’t have! When asked, they did not offer a paper information sheet, which surely would not have been that hard? Our check in, due at 14.00, was 40 minutes later. On closer inspection, the hotel is a bit tired but that is probably the same for many others. Remember to take your own suntan lotion, as it is VERY expensive, here!
