Gangneung-si Hotels with Balcony

Our check-in was pretty straightforward, no surprise since we stayed here in the past, staff are pretty cold and disinterested, not rude, just cold. My family enjoyed the last trip so we returned. Our room was as expected, with one exception, the mini kitchen was supplied with utensils, and pots and pans previously, not anymore. The hotel has an interesting HVAC system, the twin suites have a master bedroom loft, and adjacent bed over looking the ocean, very beautiful and relaxing, unfortunately the hotel switched the A/C off and put the heating system on, this made the loft area very warm, I tried to adjust the multiple thermostat controls, but was unaware the AC main was off. The in room phone system was turned off, so the only option was to trek up to the main desk. The front desk clerk and I went back and forth with translators, till I got the Heating system information. I thanked the clerk and headed back to reverse the thermostat settings which did help, along with leaving the glass door to the ocean patio open. Crisis averted, the sounds of the ocean was blissful. The next day we returned to a nicely cleaned suite until I noticed a large piece of chewed gum left on the display shelf, trust me it was gross, I asked my family if anyone left this? I knew the answer before asking, no one in my family are gum chewers. It then became clear the someone in house cleaning left it there, never seen that before on all my travels. When checking out I mentioned the AC/Heater issue as well as the chewing gum issue, and to no surprise to me, there was no interest, discussion or maybe even a halfhearted we apologized for the inconvenience? Nope not at Sun Cruise, the clerk just motioned for the next person in line, I actually laughed, shook my head a little and headed out the door. The one positive thing we took away was, we unanimously decided to never return to Sun Cruise,

The location was good. The hotel was impressive. However, the rooms were a little tight. The worse thing was the air-conditioning which didn't work. Don't know if the temperature is all centrally set or what?Other than that, (the air-conditioning issue) it was a very nice stay. The staff were very good. Some of them spoke English perfectly, which is fantastic. They were also very helpful, which we appreciated.

Decent and nice hotel. Caters to many couples and families who bring along their pet dogs etc. Seen like this is their specialty. Only thing we found strange was that they charge a hefty fee to use the swimming pool, even for hotel guests. The air conditioning also appears less than ideal, being fixed in terms of the temp setting. You cannot change or adjust it- which is not good

In an apartment hotel, you have two bedrooms and one living room, and it also has a kitchen and a washing machine, which is very convenient. There are quite a lot of guests even on weekdays during your stay. There is a seaside downstairs of the hotel, and there are distant mountains behind the hotel. The scenery is pretty good.

It was the best hostel. It is right next to the sun cruise. The location under the condition of the hostel was the best and the sunrise from the rooftop was art. I recommend it

It is an excellent location for resting and trekking along Songjeong Beach, Anmok Beach, a pine field path suitable for walking, and coastal paths. It was good value for money and they even upgraded to a twin double bed. I looked at the sea to my heart's content and walked over 30,000 steps along the microfiber sand beach. It was great to see the sunrise too! The homemade burger in front of the hotel was also good.

First impression was the hotel lobby toilets (ladies) two stalls, filled with disgusting used toilet tissue, in the toilet basin and the on the floor leading to the horribly overfilled trash can. Paid for a room with a bath tub, were given one without, had to ask to get what we paid for. We had to wait for our room to be cleaned. Stained sheets, dead roaches and cicadas. Great location, horribly maintained, floor and walls peeling, filthy grout in tiles. Beds hard and springs sticking out, bed frames peeling and screws sticking out! Only one light switch working, by the end of our (one night) stay even the bathroom light wasn’t working. I’ve never seen anything like it.

The hotel was nice to let us check in a little bit earlier. However there were not elevator in the West building, which caused to the difficulty to go to the beach! The door was unstable, sometimes I couldn’t lock it. The hotel also did not provide toothbrush and toothpaste.

Not far from downtown Gangneung. The view of the Korean fishing village is right rather than the sea view. The view of the sea with a small harbor is also ok. Sunrise in the morning. The order itself is small, but it is central to it, so it is a good choice for walking nearby restaurants. As other reviews say, the runner window is narrow. If you come in late, you should stop on the nearby roadside. There is a convenience store right across the street. The interior is clean. The bed is not inconvenient and the noise is blocked well. Good to have a veranda and a comfortable chair. The condition itself is evaluated by the middle of the motel and the hotel. There is about 30% of the atmosphere of the motel. ^^ Still quite a decent hostel.

I stayed at the East9 hotel for 3 days and 2 nights. Everything was perfect from start to finish. the staff very polite, welcoming and smiling. I don't know if he really speaks English because I did everything in Korean since I speak a little in Korean. the hotel has two parking spaces, one inside the basement and the other outside in front of the hotel, if the two parking lots are full it is very easy to park around. My room (standard) was located on the 8th floor (so on the 6th real floor). view a little on the surroundings, not the best view but not the most disturbing either. My room was really large with an entrance to remove shoes (Korean style), a large bed, a large TV, a large bathroom ... in short everything was large in this room. Everything is in very good condition, the bed is very comfortable with a feather duvet and the pillows. bathroom very clean also. the only negative was that it was quite warm in the room despite turning off the heat and opening the window. the morning breakfast included in the room rate is pretty good, it is not a huge buffet but enough to have a good breakfast before starting the day. to finish I highly recommend this hotel, it is in a district surrounded by restaurant, bar and club with also several shops and convenience store.
