A cozy hotel by the beach! We traveled without children June and were welcomed in a nice way. A snack bar that serves beer, drinks and some food. Very good service. Outside the hotel is everything you need. We are coming back! Big thanks for everything!!! ❤️ Regards, Anders and Annsofie

The location is very good. The breakfast is simple but nice. The room was good, I would've liked to have a litle more space but it worked. Good pool bar and the swimming pool is very nice. Sunbeds all around. The staff is wonderful. Would recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel set in beautiful surroundings, well Maintained gardens. I used the pool here everyday whilst on holiday, and it was a pleasure to swim and see the sea from the pool, lovely location. The real credit to this hotel, is a lady called Antonio who works in the pool bar everyday, she is absolutely amazing. I came here nearly everyday to use the pool, and have lunch and drinks with my husband, she was so nice and friendly and the lunches were always fantastic. So, please management pass on my gratitude to Antonio, she works hard and is so lovely, well done!

Marina Sands is a very cozy and pleasant 2 stars hotel but in my eyes a 3 stars hotel with lovely staff. The hotel is 60 meters from the beach and between the rooms and the beach are the pool with a restaurant that serves both cold and hot dishes as well as snacks and beer/drinks. The rooms are designed in an older standard, My bathroom had, for example, a bathtub and a shower curtain which you cannot normally count on in Crete. The furniture in the room is of an older type but functional. Modern television. In my hotel booking it was included AC and a safe. So when you book, check if AC is included or not, otherwise the cost will be added. The breakfast consists of a few types of bread. different marmalades. 2 different Mortladella sausages and cheese. Tomato and cucumber. boiled egg. Greek Yoghurt with honey or with preserved fruit. Melon. Coffee/Tea and 3 juices. The hotel area consists of 2-storey buildings with narrow corridors with well-kept beautiful vegetation.

This hotel has seen better days but it does still shine. I stayed for 10-days on a trip with my brother. The staff was fast when the A/C in my brother’s room was broken. It was fixed in 24 hours - they ended up replacing the old A/C with a brand new unit. You pay for use of A/C - 8€ per day. Coming from Iceland, we both felt that this was worth the fee. Yes, the hotel has run down pieces but the staff and location keeps it in the 3-range. It is really clean - with daily room service (clean towels and sheets daily). The beds were fine and I slept well each night. I did not notice any noise seeping through door or window, which meant I could catch a nap during the day, even if my room was just by the pool. I recommend room 55 or room 24 (my room or my brother’s room). Fair warnings : *breakfast on offer remains the same - if you want variety, the supermarket across the street has excellent range of food stuff and a bakery on site - including fresh orange juice. *the beach has low stone boulders which makes it tricky to enter the sea. Try to enter on the right hand side (when facing the ocean) and I recommend using water-socks or water shoes ( the sands gets really hot and it can be painful to walk on it barefoot). *the hotel pool is excellent and is at its deepest 2.05m and 0.60m at the shallowest. You are not permitted to reserve pool loungers around the pool area until 8am (the loungers are locked from around 8pm to 8am) but after 8am you are permitted to place your towels to reserve - but do not abuse this! If you are not going to start sunbathing early, be aware that holding onto loungers for 3-4 hours without using them is considered as being rude. There are plenty of loungers on the beach itself - they do cost but as 7€ for two loungers for the whole day - the price is fair. The pool restaurant is average but the staff is excellent and we often had lunch there. Please note - they only accept cash but if you wish, you can charge to your room and then pay with a credit card at reception. This is a hotel that still deserves its 3 stars - just because of their staff and location. I will stay here again.

Arrived at this hotel at around 11 PM. After a horrid flight that was delayed 6 hours. We get handed our key and told to go outside to the room to find it. Our room number was 61. We look around for a while but can’t find it, so we go back in and ask the man in reception. He apologised and says he made a mistake and that our room is actually upstairs. He takes us upstairs and shows us the room. The power is out but he found it completely acceptable to offer us the room for the night. Should also add that we ordered and paid for a 2 bedroom apartment with an ocean view. This room was a 1 bedroom with a bed in the living room, and the view? Of the street. It was so hot in there you could barely breathe so we refuse and request another room, and also find out you have to pay 8€ a day for Air conditioning. Basically paying to make the room liveable. After a while we finally get one. Also, on the website it says it has room service till midnight, at 11:30 we asked for water and he said the bar was closed. So we couldn’t even get water. Also the website says free wifi, but fails to mention the wifi doesn’t reach the rooms. WiFi by the pool and beach but no connection in the rooms. The “Breakfast.” is laughable. Toast, some tomato’s and cucumber along with melons and some cakes. Fine but not worth the 140 euros per person. Other than that the stay was okay, the staff was lovely and profusely apologised for the mistake the first night. All lovely except for that one man.

The girl at the bar, uncouth, unfit, unsmiling and most of all disrespectful. He used to bully the kids who were eating something they bought from the supermarket. He also took the sunbeds for us, because we didn't get coffee at 11:30 from the bar but at 09:00 from the bakery. He was constantly ruffling us to the administration but the administration was simply emptying us as expendable. In general, they didn't even care if this inappropriate employee created a problem for us. The ladder in the swimming pool, from the bottom of the stairs cuts like a knife, as a result of which our child was injured and taken to the Chania hospital. The hotel doesn't even have an emergency pharmacy. The laptop wires in room 39 are exposed and extremely dangerous. The lighting cables around the pool are bare and out of the ground even though everything around them is wet. BOBAN and ANGELIKI are excellent people who always help as much as they can. The cleaners are kind and discreet. The owners are simply absent and indifferent. We are still here and I will add additional review depending on what else they do to us until we leave out of revenge for choosing to eat outside the hotel as well. The bar the worst. Dirty tables, broken or cracked glasses, rude or pretentious employee. Away and away again. NEVER AMATEURS AGAIN.
