Luang Prabang Mekong Charm River View Reviews

We enjoyed our stay at the 3 star Mekong Charm Hotel, so we decided to stay two night longer than planned. The location is wonderful. The breakfast Terrace is directly above the Mekong river. The hotel manager lives for her work and is very helpful and friendly. We had nothing to care for. She organized a motorcycle and our train trip to Vientiane. If we come back to Luang Prabang this hotel will be our first choice.

Thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Room was very clean spacious. Right on the Mekong which was pleasant. Easy walking distance to night market and various cafes and restaurants.

Wonderful smaller hotel in a quiet part of Luang Prabang that doesn’t attract the large, noisy tourist groups. Hotel is right across the road from the Mekong river and breakfast is served on a platform overlooking the river which is extremely scenic and peaceful. The hotel is close to all the main attractions in the city and the host and staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful. Was delighted to stay here.

The most advantageous part of the hotel is its location. It is within a kilometer walking distance to the main places such as the morning market, night market, alms, the palace, foreigner street, Mount Phou Si, and Wat Xieng Thong. It is also close to the river bank and quiet in the bustling city. Running along the river in the morning or walking along the small street in the evening are both wonderful experiences. There are also many choices of food, bars, and massages around. The hotel is an old colonial house along the street. If it is on the first floor or not by the river, the lighting is not good. Breakfast is on the riverside across the road. Although it is a simple Western set meal, the scenery is very good.

Consider the breakfast a bonus. The atmosphere in the room was very good. The shower had good hot water.

Very good accommodation. The owner and staff are very good at service. They help with everything, including tourist attractions, restaurants, car rentals, and taking cars to the train station. The cost is not expensive.

The hotel is right next to the Mekong River. It is an ancient, small hotel like a homestay, but the sanitary conditions are very good. Sitting at the door, you can watch the boats on the Mekong River shuttle. Overall, it is good and I will stay there next time.

Not worth it. Chinese people should not stay in this rubbish hotel.

The hotel I booked before was fully booked, so Ctrip’s housekeeper helped me change the hotel and upgraded it to a river view room. Compared to the hotels on the main road, this place is indeed quieter and so remote that you need to walk for more than 15 minutes to get to the main attractions of the National Museum. After watching the sunset at Puxi Mountain, I went down the mountain in the south. I looked at the map and walked for half an hour without finding the way back! And in the river view room, you can clearly be woken up by motorcycles, cars, and especially the garbage collection trucks at 11pm (12pm China time) in the room at night. The whole house has nostalgic wooden furniture. No matter which room the window is opened, there is a creaking sound. There are no curtains, so it is super bright even if you want to take a nap during the day! The only advantage is that the boss is very enthusiastic and can help you book a bus to Spectrum Falls and the high-speed rail station. He speaks good English.
