Solo traveler, spent 4 nights there. Hostel is kinda meh in itself, and has two big flaws. Location is definitely really good, basically in the very center of Singapore, metro and bus stops are nearby. But it's kinda the only good thing. Ah yes, apart from quite detailed city guides on the wall near the reception.
- The mattresses are really stiff and thin, I mean it - really stiff! Just uncomfortable to sleep on them, had quite a bad nights there.
- There is no proper kitchen, you can microwave something and that's it, can't cook, see the pictures. Also common area is very poorly done, looks like a cheap canteen or something. You can't comfortably socialize there...
- Important - here is a night club/bar right near/under the hostel. Entrance to it is literally 2 meters from hostel's entrance. And music is really heard even until 2 am! All the basses, drums - you just hear it, not that loud that you can't sleep, but I was on 4th floor, but if you are on 2nd or 3rd?... Probably would need earplugs lol.
- And the BIG DEAL - LOCKERS ARE BASICALLY NOT WORKING AND UNSAFE. See the pictures and you'l understand. They are there, BUT - they made so sloppily that even after you lock the door with a key - you just press *a little bit* on the door from the top - and it opens even while locked, just because the lock's metal thing is just too short and door is too weakly set. So basically I'm sure that everyone can open every locker if they want. Receptionist said sorry for that, but that's it. Not good at all, first hostel I've been with such poor locker execution.

Please read - IMPORTANT about Campbell Inn: My 3 tourist friends from overseas have encountered potential scamming of tourists at this Campbell Inn. They have lodged a police report and contact Singapore Tourism Board and CASE in regards to this case. Hope by doing so, it will prevent the owner of Campbell Inn from cheating other tourists and disgracing Singapore as a safe country again. My 3 friends were ignorant of the various Google negative reviews of Campbell Inn and booked two nights with the Inn. However it seems that they have been scammed. It was their first visit to Singapore and she emailed and they tried to call the Inn several times without getting a proper response from the Inn. They wanted to inform the Inn about the late timing that they would be reaching the Inn. However as the Inn was uncontactable for a proper response, the 3 tourists decided to check-in physically at the premises. The Inn was obviously unsafe as it was occupied by alot of migrant workers in the premises and look more like a illegal foreign worker dormitory. The 3 tourists were initially informed by the receptionist that their room were given to other workers and were even asked to stay together with the male workers in the same room. They realized that these workers were wearing scantily (only sarongs) in the room and some of them appears to be drunk. The 3 tourists refused and left the Inn immediately feeling the whole situation was not right and unsafe. However they were left stranded on the streets in the middle of the night. My friends credit card was deducted for the nights which they did not stay in the Inn. They believed that the Inn management have planned this scam in such a manner that they can easily cheat the tourists who did not know the actual ground situation of the Inn. Also suspect several of these workers may be overstayers without legal work permits as they seems to be staying there for a long time. The Inn is definitely not a safe place for tourists to stay in. The practice of this Inn not only causes distress to the overseas visitors but also shame us Singaporeans which our country projected a very safe reputation to visitors from all over the world. The matter has been reported to relevant Singapore authorities.

Basic, no frills Pod Hotel. Place was easy to find as it was located on a main road. Due to my hour of arrival I used a ride share service from Changi but the property is within 200m of the Maxwell MRT station. My room had 6 pods, sleeping area was clean with a coat hanger and area to hand clothing, an adjustable table, power outlet and lighting. Wifi signal was strong and an additional locker was provided inside the room to store valuables. Check in was simple as scanning my passport and entering some credentials on the check in system. There was several wash rooms on both levels and a community seating area on the 2nd level. Over all an affordable and clean place if your on a budget.

We arrived at Pine Hostel 16.08.19 at 21:00. We had a 4-person room reservation. We were looking for the 4-person room, because we didn't want beds in the common rooms. The booking was confirmed by credit card, but the payment was not write-off. A day before the alleged check-in came a text from the booking site that it was necessary to update the card data. What was very strange because the card was not changed and used actively. But to avoid tempting the fate, everything was updated. On arrival, we were informed that we could not pay our number with a credit card. Although the booking was indicated that the card payment was possible. More interesting: it turned out that we could not be set in the room we booked. They have some problems. They were ”very” apologized and offered to settle us in 2 different rooms for 2 people. According to the owner, these rooms ”will be even better, and since it is his fault, he won't take money from us.” It's good that we guessed to go see these ”best rooms.” One room was a size of 2 square meters, in which you can only stand (because there was no more room) with a two-storey bed. Attention: There was no door in this ”wonderful” room! Carl, room without door! Apparently, the hostess understood that we would not agree and offered another option - 4 beds in the 8th local room without windows 🤦. He offered it all to give us 4m. To get into this room, it was necessary to pass through the women's room (for 12 seats) and, of course, in the proposed room too there was no door! 🤷🙎 Yes how??? How there people live?? ! We were in shock! The hostess canceled our booking at this time, pointing out as a reason - the invalid credit card!!! That is, this ”great” man made us guilty! The operator from Bucking could not help, because as the booking was canceled because of the invalid credit card, we are ”own.” On our observation that the card is all right, and it is in the hostel not taking the card because of their technical problems, he did not answer anything. Or did not answer that we could not be set in the room that we booked. And the replaced rooms are terrible! After talking to the Bucking operator, the hostess came up to us and offered to replace our booked room with another. But in another hostel. By entering the site of this hostel, we were terrified even more. Apart from the clops, garbage and other ”charities” from the reviews we learned, that people throw with bookings. Just like in our situation. Promised and dispatched one for sale, but actually provides absolutely another. As a result, we started looking for a room in other hotels that are not cheap in Singapore. People never book in this hostel of the room!!! If you are settled in the room, then without the door, or at all throw, like us! There is a complete deception!

The environment is pretty good, the waiters are very patient and can speak Chinese. The hotel smells delicious, which I really like. There is a separate shoe cabinet for use (password) and disposable slippers are provided. There are separate cabinets to store suitcases and valuables (you need to swipe your card to open and close), which is safer. No matter what time it is, everyone is generally quite quiet. When meeting foreign friends, they will smile and nod to say hello, but they can't speak, which is very suitable for I people. However, on the second day after I checked in, I met a Chinese lady who had been on the phone since 8 or 9 o'clock without caring about other people's feelings (very annoying to such people). The toilet and bathroom are also relatively clean. It is recommended to strengthen the hygienic management of the dressing table on the bed. Once opened, it is all foundation, loose powder, and hair on the dressing table. The only thing I don't like. The hotel provides water dispensers and washing machines (I didn't use them). In fact, the location of the hotel can be reached using Google Navigation. The hotel is located next to the Singapore River. The price of the restaurant downstairs is high. I can only say that the taste is very unpleasant... I won’t talk about the price, because it is Singapore~ But I think the ox cart Shui Chinese restaurant is more cost-effective. The transportation is quite convenient. It's less than ten minutes' walk from Chinatown. I ate Hunan cuisine three times in five days at the restaurant ”Xiangxiang Hunan Restaurant”. The service attitude is great, the price-performance ratio is very high, and the food is quite delicious. Cumin Pork Ribs (recommended) The boss also took the initiative to offer discounts for Chinese tourists. I didn’t expect that Po has such impressive prices🤣 Overall, this trip experience was great! Will stay here next time.

In the past, there were lodgings around 900 yen here and there, but as of November 2022, this place was in the cheap category (around 2000 yen). The customer base is migrant workers, Southeast Asian customers seeking cheap prices, and European and American customers. A cash deposit of $20 is required for the key. Since the reception time is short, please let us know in advance if you are late for check-in. The most important thing to note about this inn is that many of the guests do not have a culture of using paper in the toilet, so the hose cleaning will always flood the toilet. Be sure to bring sandals. There was no problem sleeping in the room. The sheets were darkened, but they weren't bleached and seemed to be washed properly, so there's no problem. The air conditioner hits directly when it comes to the upper bed. Bring warm clothes if necessary. An eye mask is required for the upper row. Prepare earplugs if necessary.
Great care is taken to ensure guests experience comfort through top-notch services and amenities. Stay connected with your associates, as complimentary Wi-Fi is available during your entire visit. To ensure the well-being and convenience of all visitors, smoking is strictly prohibited throughout the entire hostel.

Bluewaters Female-Only Hostel exceeded my expectations 😄 in terms of ambience and amenities.
I like the cosy and quirky environment, which reminds me of my grandma's place with the enclosed airwell and the layout in the lounge area for relaxation 🎶
The amenities include complimentary coffee ☕️ tea 🍵 water💧utensils, a fridge, a microwave oven and even a toaster oven (which is uncommon) 👍
Thank you for making my stay during the New Year's eve/New Year 2025 so memorable ! ✨️

Outstanding
GGuest UserArrive in Singapore late at night. I was at an age when it was difficult to stay at the airport, so I chose to lie down, but this was quite comfortable. A taxi from the airport costs $33 (including late night charges). The late-night reception was unmanned, but the self-check-in system worked well, and although it was a small space that looked like a closet, the women's 6-person room was so quiet that I thought no one was there, and the mattress and sheets were surprisingly good. It's high and I had a good night's sleep (although in the morning some people started unpacking their suitcases and there was nowhere to step) Showers and toilets are clean, but be aware that the floors can get wet. Also, perhaps because of the corona crisis, there is no breakfast service as mentioned in previous reviews.
VVictoria_LohStayed there for 5 nights. Toilets are super clean what you see in their advert pictures are what you get-the male cleaner cleans down the toilets at 7am daily and towels changed every 3 days. The female desk service would come into the room every afternoon to spray disinfectant. The bed, duvet and 2 pillows are super comfy. The ladder to an upper bunk is a bit harsh on the feet (tested on empty bunk). The aircon in the room is sufficient and they have a little fan ventilating your bunk after curtains are drawn. They provide ear plugs, hotel slippers and toothbrush and toothpaste. There is multi purpose shampoo bodywash in each shower cubicles and 2 hairdryers. It is really quiet and I didn't have to use the ear plugs. If you bring your water bottle down, they have water dispenser with 3 temperatures. Or just use their paper cups. They are prompt in their service/feedback response. The location is really close to Haji Lane, Bugis etc. There is a bus stop a short walk away where it leads to other parts of Singapore. Covered shoes are to be stored in separate lockers. Above are the pros; lets move on to the cons.
Cleanliness guaranteed ONLY if you are lucky enough not to encounter the really filthy guests (like I encountered on my last 2 nights.) They have a scent dispenser in the room which auto dispenses every aroudn 30 mins. The smell is sharp and sweet and I feel this is required only evey once an hour. Otherwise it feels a bit too much. Due to space constraint, it can be a tad hard to bring a lot of luggage down, especially if you store them under the bed where a part of the ladder is blocking. If you are a backpacker, this will not be an issue for you. Their curtains cannot be fully drawn for my particular bunk, so I had to get creative and tweak the curtain hanging so it covers my head more instead of my feet.
Conclusion: The pros surpass the cons so much so, that if I need a staycation again, I would definitely come back to this hotel.

GGuest UserThis time in Singapore, this backpacker hotel in Orland Park really surprised me! The location is super good, close to the subway station, and it is super convenient to travel. The room is clean, the bed is comfortable, and the atmosphere in the public area is great, where you can make friends with travelers from all over the world. The staff is warm and thoughtful, and helps plan the itinerary. The price is affordable and the cost performance is full. Next time I come, I will stay here again, and I also recommend it to friends who love traveling!
DDamienDamDamNice Hostel near the center, it was easy to access, The staff is lovely and helpful they arrange for me a late Check in (3am) with useful instruction. Clean inside, I didn't face the time to try the rooftop :( The breakfast is ok (just few stuff to avoir leaving with nothing in the belly). Great value for a short and cheap stay in Singapore.

GGuest UserWink at Upper Cross Street is easily accessible with the MRT (subway) across the street and has plenty of food establishments around the vicinity.
I was impressed with the service provided by Kaung and Myat Soe. They were both very attentive and professional. I was also very happy that the hostel was always clean and tidy.
Breakfast was simple but adequate with cereal and milk and toast (bread) and jam. Coffee and tea are complimentary for the entire day.
It was a great experience staying in Wink at Upper Cross Street ! 👍

GGuest UserConclusion: the best option for the money, we were satisfied.
Pros:
- Great price for this area
- Clean, good water pressure in shower
- The capsule for two is very beautiful and spacious
- Interesting design
- The administrators are very nice
Cons:
- There is no sound insulation in the capsules. You will hear absolutely everything that happens in the neighboring capsules, even a quiet conversation. Children are allowed to live here, so their screams will also be very loud
- There are no common areas for relaxation or meals, only capsules and a shower area
- The showers are located right in the toilet, so the toilet is always wet, which is unpleasant and inconvenient
- TV works only with jack 3,5 headphones so you can't use ot nowadays, when all heaphones are bluetooth

GGuest UserStayed 2 nights in January 2024 family of 4. DO NOT STAY HERE! We booked a room for 6 people (even though we were a family of 4) so that we could have more room to spread out and for our luggage. When we checked in, we got a room with 4 beds (2 queens, 2 twins). Clearly this didn't solve the issue of needing more space to spread out. Reception informed me that the room was adequate for 6 people and they were fully booked so I could not get any room. The room was TINY. The family room we had booked DID NOT resemble the photos on the website at all. Its was much smaller, tighter, no room to walk, pass each other, no room to store luggage, totally claustrophobic, very dark (not light like the photos), only one outlet worked to charge all of our devices (and there are over a dozen outlets in our room). You cannot sleep and charge at the same time because the desk (on the wall of the bed) needs to be open to access the chargers and you cannot sleep with the desk open over your head. The sink was the same size as my hand. Water went everywhere and there is no counter space for toiletries. There is NOWHERE comfortable to go outside of the room and sit. The 'kitchenette' they offer in the common space has hard metal barstools, not soft, comfortable chairs for guests to sit. There is NO lift/elevator so be ready to lift all your luggage up several flights of stairs with no help. There is A/C in the room but if you are in the corner of one of the beds, the air does not circulate and gets very hot. I do not recommend this place, not even a little.

GGuest UserThe dirt was taken by your wanted Spey Inn 14 - a complete dirt! Nothing is cleaned, in the toilet and soul everywhere dirty, rolling toothpaste, shampoo and blade for shaving past residents. In the rooms on the boxes on the window behind the cabinets of a bunch of dirty clothes of past tenants. the storage boxes are all closed and it is unclear which are occupied and which are not. We set in the fourth, but the box open found only one! Everywhere dirt! In two days of arrival, not once cleaned and not soaped floors! You - 1! Filmed your wanted Space Inn 14 - solid rubbish! Nothing is cleaned, the toilet and shower are dirty everywhere, toothpaste, shampoos and shaving blades of past tenants are lying around. The rooms are all closed, and it is not clear which are occupied and which are not. We settled in the fourth, but only one open box was found! Dirt everywhere! For two days of stay, they never cleaned or washed the floors! You -1!
GGuest UserThis capsule hotel budget-wise is recommendable. The location is great and 5 minutes away from the metro station. I have taken the mixed capsule. I did not expect much because of the price but I stuttered with disappointment when I was there. I availed myself of a stay with free breakfast for 5 days and in these 5 days, never I had tried and seen any food. What I saw are leftovers kept uncleaned. I usually wake up at 5-6 am because I have a conference by 7 am. By that time, no food on the counter. The toilets were furthermore small and crowded. No social distancing or infection control practices. The spaces are cluttered, unkempt, and unmaintained. I have raised the issue to an Agoda representative who told me that I should have the breakfast inclusion. Still, the next day, no breakfast was there. I planned to talk to the reception but most of the time, staff are not present there.
