Location: near LinFenXi High Speed Rail Station 临汾西站(10mins drive/ 20mins by local public transport to LuoGuQiaoTou 锣鼓桥头站). Best is that they provide pick-up and drop-off at HSR station, just make a call 3 hours in advance. I dont have local number, so I email them in advance before my trip, they replied my email and provide me their WeChat number so I can make reservation for the pick-up service at the station. Many local tours have pick-up and drop-off service near the hotel (junction outside the hotel), easy and convenient. Services: warm and welcoming services. Tea and drinks in the lobby, luggage storage as well. Room: clean big room, big screen TV, mini bar fridge, bathrobe and comfy king bed. Lavender shower shampoo, hand soap and body lotion, make me feel so so much relax. Laundry: laundry machine are free of charge (washer and dryer). Laundry room provide ironing equipment, books, drink as well. Definitely not get bored. Otherwise, can use phone connect their website to make a reminder while the laundry have done (so convenient). Gym Room: just opposite and same level of laundry room. Treadmill are so new. Breakfast: varieties of choice. Before that I already crave for coffee since it is not so common to find espresso in the local breakfast restaurant. Salad bar, local meatball soup, noodles, dumplings, wantons, boiled egg, fried egg, fried tomato with egg and local cooked food. So many choice and so satisfying. However they dont have egg omelette, it is fine for me. I found that even though not staying at LinFen city centre, it is still fine to stay here as the traffic here is convenient. And here is more quiet and more relax👍 The only thing I dont like is, some customer smoking in the lift and hotel lobby (even though there is a sign in the lift to advice not to smoke), definitely affecting those unlike smoking smell and sick of cigarette smell like me.

We spent out last night of our trip at Kempinski Taiyuan, and it did not disappoint. The receptionist upgraded up to a room on a high floor with a view of the city. They also gave us fresh fruits and free minibar. They had everything you would expect of a five star hotel, and the location is in a bustling part of the city. Would definitely come back.

I came to see the concert and I liked the fact that the Intercontinental Hotel could pick me up. The service and environment were very good. There were some minor incidents in the middle, but they were solved quickly. The only question was that I vomited for two consecutive days after breakfast. I want to ask if the soft-boiled fried eggs in the hotel breakfast were sterile eggs?

The hotel's location is great, and the room was clean, spacious, and well-soundproofed. The front desk staff were very welcoming and the breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of options. This will definitely be my top choice next time I'm in Taiyuan, highly recommended!

My solo trip to Northern Shanxi led me to choose the Datong Jixiashan, and my overall experience far exceeded my expectations. The room was much larger than I'd imagined, and the furniture was all high-quality. The architectural style throughout the hotel was also very photogenic, and the space planning and details were tastefully done, making for a truly comfortable stay. What touched me the most was the service. I accidentally twisted my ankle while out sightseeing and asked the hotel for some ice. To my surprise, the front desk staff, upon hearing about it, quickly sent up a medical ice pack, which prevented me from getting frostbite during extended icing – their attitude was so gentle and thoughtful. In the evening, they even offered a sweet night porridge, a truly heartwarming gesture for travelers. Everything, from the environment to the service, was meticulously arranged. It's not just a beautiful guesthouse; it's a place filled with warmth and human touch. Plus, the breakfast was abundant and delicious! I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Datong. It was a very reassuring and healing accommodation experience. I'd love to bring my parents here next time.

Facilities: Since it's a new hotel, everything feels fresh. It has electric curtains and smart toilets, and the lobby is impressive. Overall, it feels like a 4.5-star hotel. One thing to note is that there's no rainfall showerhead. Cleanliness: Everything was very clean; I didn't notice any issues. Environment: It's just a short taxi ride from the old town, very convenient. The breakfast selection isn't huge, but it's quite tasty.

Jianguo Hotel Yungang is a well-established upscale hotel. As soon as I arrived, a security guard promptly offered to help with my luggage and escorted me to the front desk. The service was incredibly attentive and warm; every staff member I encountered greeted me with a smile. Check-in at the front desk was very quick. Although the room's decor is a bit dated, it was exceptionally clean and tidy, with excellent hygiene. The direct drinking water tap in the room was a great convenience, and they also provided four complimentary bottles of water. The hotel breakfast was fantastic, offering a wide variety of options – truly the best hotel breakfast I've ever had. For lunch, I ate at the hotel's Chinese restaurant; the prices were reasonable, and the dishes tasted excellent, easily comparable to popular 'influencer' restaurants. The hotel also provided complimentary passes to the bathhouse, which I found to be very good in the evening, with friendly staff. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again.

I booked two rooms for 4, and we were given rooms beside each other. We arrived late at night around 9.30pm and check in went smoothly. Rooms were very comfortable and were equipped with SMART tech with voice activation! We were also able to check out a little later upon request since our train left later in the afternoon. I also had packages delivered to the reception and had no issues. Location was great and easy to explore the ancient city and also to see the main wall itself. One thing to note is that there isn't a formal drop off point but you can definitely get dropped off and picked up along the side of the road. The room layout was slightly different than the images on Trip.com (I booked a Double bedroom with courtyard view with a stay voucher), but the room was good too although I would have preferred the toilet configuration in the photos. Overall, a great place to stay and I'd definitely stay here again if I get to come back to Datong. They also have a bakery at the lobby and it gets sold out pretty quickly!

If you're traveling to Linfen, Shanxi, I genuinely recommend Gu Cheng Da Yuan. It's not a hotel in the usual sense; it's more like staying in a living piece of history. The moment you push open the heavy wooden door, the city's hustle and bustle are shut out. It's a genuine old house, not some 'faux-ancient' style. 🛏️ The stay was more comfortable than I expected. The room was spacious, antique in style, but not at all dark. ✔ Underfloor heating + central air conditioning throughout, so no fear of the cold in winter. ✔ Turn on the projector and binge-watching shows in bed at night was incredibly satisfying 📽️. ✔ Welcome fruit, tea, coffee, cocktails 🍹, and afternoon tea 🫖 were all prepared. ✔ 24-hour butler service, always responsive. ✔ Takeout can be delivered directly to the room – super friendly for lazy people. 🥟 The attention to detail was a real bonus. On the Winter Solstice, I actually got to eat dumplings handmade by the hotel, and I suddenly felt 'cared for'. The breakfast menu changes daily, so you don't get tired of it. 💆♀️ This was a truly relaxing, 'lie-flat' vacation. This time, I also tried the newly introduced sound bowl healing at the hotel, which made me so relaxed I didn't want to talk throughout the session. Even if I didn't leave all day, just soaking up the sun, reading, and daydreaming in the courtyard felt completely worth it. 📸 Every corner is picture-perfect. Carved window lattices, grey brick corridors – every spot is Instagrammable. This should be the best hotel in Changzhi, Shanxi. It has a great location. It is adjacent to Changzhi Museum and within walking distance of Guanyin Hall. The floors and rooms are very clean. The waiters are very enthusiastic, and the service in the restaurant and at the front desk is very professional. Changzhi is a small city, and Runerlai Hotel is very convenient to reach by bus from the East High-speed Railway Station and the airport. Recommended.
