Landing in Taiwan is always exciting, but before heading out, there’s one quick step to complete: the Taiwan Arrival Card (TWAC). This online form is required for all travelers and helps make the immigration process smoother, so you can start your trip without delays.

What Is the Taiwan Arrival Card?

The Taiwan Arrival Card (TWAC) is an online form that all travelers, including Filipinos, must fill out when entering Taiwan. It replaces the old paper card and is required whether you visit for tourism, business, or family. It’s free, quick to complete online, and helps immigration record your entry details for a smooth arrival.

Who Needs to Apply for a Taiwan Arrival Card?

✅ You need to fill out the Taiwan Arrival Card if you are:

• A Filipino or any foreign visitor who does not have Taiwanese residency.
• Entering Taiwan for a short stay—whether it’s for holiday, business, or to visit family and friends.
• Traveling visa-free (like Filipinos on the 14-day visa-free entry), or using a visa or eVisa.

❌ You don’t need to fill it out if you are:

• A holder of an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC), Resident Visa, or diplomatic ID issued in Taiwan.
• A Taiwanese national with household registration.
• Residents of Hong Kong, Macau, or Mainland China who already have valid Taiwanese resident permits or special travel documents.

How to Fill Out the Taiwan Arrival Card (TWAC) Online

Step 1: Go to the Official Website

Visit the Taiwan Arrival Card portal: https://twac.immigration.gov.tw/. The site supports English, so it’s easy for Filipinos to use.

Step 2: Start the Form

Enter your email address for verification. You may also scan or upload the photo page of your passport. This allows the system to auto-fill some of your details and saves you time.

Step 3: Provide Your Travel Information

Fill in the required fields, including:

• Passport details (number, nationality, date of birth)
• Flight number and arrival date
• Address and contact number in Taiwan (hotel, Airbnb, or relative’s home)
• Purpose of visit (tourism, business, family visit, etc.)

Step 4: Submit & Get Confirmation

After submitting, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a QR code. At the airport, immigration officers can pull up your details just by scanning your passport.

Step 5: Update If Your Plans Change

If you change flights, dates, or accommodation, simply log back in and update your form. Remember: only your latest submission will be valid.

Do You Need to Print or Save the Confirmation?

After you submit the Taiwan Arrival Card (TWAC) online, you will receive a confirmation email with a QR code.

You do not need to print the TWAC because it is linked to your passport. However, some airline staff may still ask if you have completed it, so keeping the QR code on your phone is recommended.

• Must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry.
• No torn pages, loose covers, or water damage.

2. Return or Onward Ticket

Tips Before You Travel to Taiwan
