I like the location and Bay of Island is beautiful. Admiral's View Lodge is clean, quiet and offers self driving traveller's everything what one needs. Paihia's small community is nice, friendly and one can feel safe. I lost my mobile phone while I went out for dinner and found it in the next morning thanks to the lost and found board in the community.
Took a chance on this one and was well pleased with our choice. The host was most amenable and prepared a fabulous breakfast, the local is super and the place itself pails world kiwi charm .
There are no hustle around, anyway, if you go out to do anything, you have to drive, the overall feeling is not bad, just do not like the decoration style. Recommended live
Good and bad. We arrived 20 minutes before check in, I thought it would be ok - it was not. But the desk person saw me standing at the counter and was sitting in the waiting area having a personal conversation, ignoring me, when she finally came over she was quite rude about how we were too early and told me to come back in 20 minutes. We went and had a coffee and came back to be met at the service desk by a very polite man who checked us in, although he gave vague directions to get to our room.
Once there, I stepped out of the sliding door to the outside, not expecting the step down to be about 24cm (which is a large step for anyone, let alone shorty like me). I rolled my ankle, and now my foot is swollen. When I advised on checkout, there should be a warning on the door and what had happened. The person (different lady) was unconcerned about my foot.
Other than that, the room was comfortable and very close to township and great eating places.
Despite the cons we would stay again.
You have to walk a little from the city center. But it was between the stone store and the city center, so I made a reservation. It's really kind and jokes a lot, but it was a little disappointing compared to the price. There were many trees around and many bugs.
This hotel is very good. We booked a room on the second floor. There is a separate room upstairs with a balcony and a good view. It is not far from the pier and the sea. There are many small shops in the town, which are worth recommending.
Breakfast and dinner buffets have a wide choice of dishes, so you won't get tired of eating every day. The room was bigger than I expected. The location was very convenient and nice. It was a cheap hotel to spend.
The accommodation was clean and tidy. The food in the restaurant was very average for $59 per head.
Wasn't a very good selection. What they had was more Indian tastes.
Would like to see more local māori culture within the work environment.
The location is great, a few minutes walk to beach front and maim centre for food. Amenities include cutlery, fridge, microwave, kettle etc. Only thing is there is no air-conditioner but fans were provided but luckily it wasn't too hot when we were there but in peak summer, no a/c would have been bad.
Free parking, good location. Has indoor pool and gym which we didn't have time to try. 2 soft double beds with 2 pillows per person. Coffee, tea making with fridge

GGuest UserStaff were super friendly. It was a good price for good accommodation, within walking distance from the beach, restaurants etc. Small things could have earned a full 5 star rating such as extra pillows as ours were a bit flat, having more toilet paper as 3 rolls single ply for 4 people on a 5 day trip didn’t cut it, but overall a good experience. The laundry was a bit dated so we ended up using the laundromat down the road, and we had no idea where the gym or restaurant was which would have been nice to have been informed of when we checked in.
RRUIThe scenery is good, there are more bugs in the room. The facilities are also basically close to the limit of needing renovation. However, it is very good to have such an supporting facility in the big countryside. The young lady at the front desk is also very good. In addition, if you want to use an outdoor heated swimming pool, it is best not to live in a single building. The area where the single house is located is too far to the pool, to drive around from outside.

GGuest UserSlightly tired with some maintenance due.
Too many emails (I think 9 in total) re the stay. When on holiday I don't want 9 extra emails!.
Staff great, rooms really good and quiet considering the location.
It would be good to get all the Sky TV channels for the amount charged. I.e it was missing Channel 7,17,21 etc.

GGuest UserRoom was little, barely enough space to open a suitcase. Worst of all, despite AC blowing very hot air it was all escaping through front doors. Insulation was nonexistant. My room had 14C degrees when I woke up. Not recommended.
