I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious the room was—much larger than I expected. The toilet and shower were in separate rooms, which was really convenient. The ryokan-style bed gave a lovely traditional Japanese feel, which I absolutely loved. There's also a window-side table where you can sit and enjoy a full view of Mt. Fuji all day long. I was lucky to visit on a clear day and saw an unobstructed view of Mt. Fuji—it made the trip truly unforgettable.
Breakfast was delicious with every dish. The hotel also offers a laundry room, a kids’ playroom, and a stunning Mt. Fuji view onsen—perfect for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and after check-in, there was even a shuttle service to Kawaguchiko Station. Highly recommended!
Staying at a ryokan facing Mount Fuji was like stepping into a different rhythm of life — one where everything slows down, and every detail feels intentional. From the warm welcome to the soft tatami floors and the sound of the wind rustling through the trees outside the shoji screens, it was peace in its purest form. Watching the sunrise over Fuji-san in the quiet morning light, soaking in the onsen with a view I’ll never forget, and sharing traditional meals that felt like art — these are the moments that stay with you. Grateful for the stillness, the hospitality, and the kind of memories that settle deep in your soul.
Best Fuji View from the room. The room was just nice to fit 2 people with 2 luggage. Hotel breakfast at level 4 also provided the best Fuji View. There are multiple selections at their Japanese buffet breakfast too. The hotel does provide complimentary access to the Onsen next to the hotel. If you drive to the Hotel, can get a complimentary parking ticket from Front Desk. Overall I have enjoyed my stay.
Hotel Mystays Fuji Onsen Resort offers a fantastic blend of comfort, convenience, and breathtaking scenery. The highlight is undoubtedly the stunning view of Mount Fuji, visible from many rooms and the open-air onsen, making for an unforgettable experience.
The onsen itself is a must-try, with soothing natural hot spring waters perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing. The hotel maintains a clean and modern ambiance, with well-appointed rooms that, while not overly spacious, are designed for comfort and functionality.
Service is efficient and polite, with staff always ready to assist despite some language barriers. The breakfast buffet offers a decent variety of Japanese and Western options, fueling guests for a day of adventure. The hotel’s location is ideal for exploring Fuji-Q Highland and nearby attractions, with shuttle services and easy access to public transport.
Overall, it’s a great choice for travelers looking for a relaxing stay with unbeatable views of Japan’s most iconic mountain.
Stayed here for 1 night. The room is clean and cosy. Futon were very comfortable and warm (It was 1 degree Celsius that night and we don't feel cold at all). But there's a heater option on the air conditioner.
Onsen was nice but make sure you follow their rules. You can bring the towel from your room to the onsen, but if you want a new fresh tower it's 500yen (if i rmb correctly).
Breakfast is Japanese style, very hearty. But if you're not a rice person then i suggest to skip. There are 2 timing to choose, 7am or 8am.
You have to book the shuttle van in advance. I booked it during check in for the next day to Kawaguchiko Station. But don't worry if you're unable to book the shuttle van, there's a bus stop just opposite the hotel.
Overall a pleasant stay. The weather wasn't good tho (heavy raining and it was between 1-5 degrees) so we were just chilling in the room the whole time.
The location was scenic as we could see both the lake and Mount Fuji clearly. The private Onsen had amazing view!
Service was excellent and buffet was great with lots of choices. The steak was very nice!
Would recommend this hotel as had a lovely time!
The stay was awesome and the staff are very kind and helpful, providing very clear information to all the servives and activities we can do.
We were welcomed with complimentary snacks, drinks and even wine after check in. And there is also a complimentary ramen supper available, which feeds our empty stomach after a whole day. The coffee and hot chocolate is also availavle 24 hours complimentary.
There is also different onsen theme available, private and public which we had tried out all. Do note on some of the rules when using the onsen.
The breakfast is very good and tasty. We had our first Japanese style breakfast and tried the local Hotou and 纳豆 as well.
Location wise is slightly outskirts from the Fujikawaguchiko station but there is shuttle bus available for transfer. However, we drived but didn't had the chance to take the shuttle bus. Parking wise a lot of spaces available so that's not a worry.
Ultimately, the best of the best is the Mount Fuji voew from our balcony and there is also onsen available in the room.
Overall, we had a very good stay and would recommend for anyone who would like a good and comfortable stay. 5 star service.
The price-performance ratio and facilities are indeed better than those of the hotels in the surrounding Yamanaka Lake, but there is a very important point that we found bed bugs in our room.
We checked in wearing long socks and went out during the day. After taking a shower at night, I sat by the bed and found two new bites on my ankles with mouthparts marks in the middle. The two small bags arranged linearly were initially thought to be bites from a small snake, but later I checked online and found that they were suspected to be bed fleas (especially popular in Japan). Thinking of the bugs that my partner saw on the bed at night and threw away with a tissue, we checked the pictures of bed fleas online. It was basically 100% certain. I quickly packed my luggage at 11 o'clock in the evening and went downstairs to talk to their clerk.
The clerk directly took the insecticide to the room and sprayed it, and said that there were no extra rooms and we could stay there, which meant that we should continue to stay in the room with bed fleas and sprayed with insecticide. I said at the time that I would pay the full check-out fee and I would check in at a cleaner hotel nearby.
Unfortunately, during the communication with the boss, it was already past 12 o'clock in the evening, and the local hotels in Mount Fuji could not be booked online. The boss could drive us to find two hotels for that night, but we could not check in. Finally, he arranged for us to spend the night in his friend's hotel. The next morning, he drove us to visit the famous scenic spots in Mount Fuji.
But this is far from the end of the story. After we returned to where we lived in Japan, we started to use boiling water to scald clothes and spray disinfectants on luggage (for three consecutive days). However, the number of red and swollen small bags on my body increased by more than ten every day. My body was itchy, and scratching would leave black scars, which affected my appearance. But I could only use the anti-itching ointment like Wubi Di. Now my request is very simple, that is, I want to eliminate these insects from the root. I initially plan to find an insecticide company after returning to Shanghai to conduct a comprehensive cleaning of my clothes and luggage. The boss didn't seem to realize the seriousness of the bed fleas. Two days later (we checked in on the night of May 19, 2025), there were still people staying here. It seemed like how come only you had problems, but no one else did? My room was fine, and the follow-up treatment for me was to quickly ask me to go to the doctor for diagnosis and buy me some medicine. But the problem is that we can basically confirm that it was this kind of bug that bit me. I also found the larvae of this kind of bug on my clothes several times. I can also buy medicine, and it doesn't cost much, but the store has no attitude on how to completely eliminate the bed fleas I was infected with. They think this is the root problem. After all, I don't want to bring this kind of bug back to my country and pass it on to my family and my own home. My clothes are also very expensive, and to be honest, I don't want to destroy these clothes again.
The boss's attitude on that day was indeed very good, but things like bed fleas will bring endless follow-up problems. I hope he can take this responsibility.
We chose to post this review, not to blame the hotel, but to prevent the subsequent guests from suffering the same experience as us, which was very painful both physically and mentally, and to make the hotel pay attention to the problem of killing insects. We don’t know how much physical and economic losses the bed flea crisis we are suffering now will bring us. For us, the travel has suffered an unexpected disaster, and I believe that for the hotel, the business has also suffered an unexpected disaster, but there is no way, we must solve the root cause of the bugs, whether it is for the guests who are still in the hotel or have already left the hotel, it is a manifestation of responsibility.
Nice breakfast! It has great variety of breakfast choices ranging from Japanese, Western and Chinese food, the taste is really authentic and delicious! The Mt Fuji view from the hotel restaurant gave us an unforgettable experience and I will definitely visit this hotel again!
Was charged additional $50 for checking in after 10pm, and if didn’t agree that means I would have had to wait till the next morning for check in at 7am. Had no choice cause of the flight timing and wrote in to update that we would be late and asked for a special request - no acknowledgement from them either. Was allocated a unit much further behind. Extremely disappointed as the place was nice but things like this ruin the experience. You’ve been warned.

AAnonymous UserGood location, walkable distance to view the mountain Fuji with lake Kawaguchi.
Great view from room too, although just half mountain.
Hotel come to station to pick us up to hotel at 7pm after we wifi call to customer service via Trip app, great feature.
SSor Yi MingPlace is close to ropeway bus stop. however, it can be a challange to carry your luggage up the hill slope which is share with cars and visitors to the ropeway.
smoking room doesnt smell smoky as they provide purifier.. but the hallway lead to the room are very smoky in smell. just has to bare with it.
once enter, required to change show for their slippers, proceed to check in, there are foreign staffs that can speak some english to help with check in
if you check in between 3 to 5pm, there are free flow of snacks (popcorns, meatbun, mugi cha) and alcohols ( lemon sour and asahi beer)
once check in u can go for onsen to relax. not mandate to wear yukata. but feel free to do so for the immersion.
the room is dated, like stuck in the 90s or early 2000s. toilet is seperate from bath.. frankly speaking its better to bath at the onsen if you dont mind ***** infront of strangers n stared by japanese guests to see if u make any mistake ( they want you to be clean in every nook and cany) as they are in the onsen
has sauna but quite small. hover 82 degree c
has old school water spray jet which u need to control manually on all 3 sides.. good luck to do it fast during cold days.
basic amendities at the onsen area.. just hair dryer, fan and thats all
bed n pillow quite soft... pillow are small but u can get more from reception.
great view of the lake from hotel room and dining area.
breakfast is ok. everyday similar menu.. buffet style breakfast.. fish, asa curry, breads, minced marinated sashimi don, corn soup and miso soups. free flow coffee, soft drinks and limited selection of fruits.
dinner is ok, buffet style but 90 min.. need to info counter what is your prefered time slot. i recommend choose dinner... cuase it is quite a distance to the bus station for food.. and the queue are horrendous but the food are nice there tho, u can even admire mt fuji.
heard the dinner theme is based on months or seasons.

AAshleyLovely property in a great location. You’re slightly more off of the beaten track but the tourist bus stop is right out front of the hotel. Great being right by the lake. Amazing room, massive for just me. There’s no shower in the room just a toilet but the onsen was lovely and you can shower in there. Older property also be aware those with accessibility needs the hotel is up quite a steep slope/numerous stairs and then when inside there’s no lift so I had to carry my luggage up and anyone with mobility issues would struggle as I believe all the rooms are on the first floor and that’s after tackling the way up to the hotel. Staff were lovely, can’t comment on dinner or breakfast but a great traditional ryokan stay.
LLL22Enjoyed our stay at Bessho Sasa. The view of Mount Fuji is beyond amazing especially from the rooftop open air onsen area. The dinner provided in the half board package is a full nine course dinner Japanese cuisine menu which is perfect if you are a Japanese cuisine fan like me. The room was smaller than I expected, however it was sufficient for the three of us with each of us having our own very comfortable single bed to sleep in. Complete amenities and the service is excellent. Would definitely go back there again.
ZZhaocanWent with my parents. Check in was relatively straight forward, as was check out. The hotel was quite spacious, the room was to be expected. Relatively basic but clean. Did not eat there. They were able to call us a taxi when needed. We enjoyed the onsen as it had different pools, though not sure about how much of it was “onsen water”.
BBSLStaying at Ashida Hotel was definitely a pleasant surprise. The price budget is also 3,000 per night, because 4 people can stay in the same room. A friend started jumping up and down as soon as he entered. The Japanese-style layout and traditional hot springs make it very comfortable.
The sky finally cleared up on the day we checked out. I was shocked when I saw Mount Fuji. It felt so majestic and beautiful.
This hotel is highly recommended for friends who want to see Mount Fuji in Kawaguchiko City.
WWee xiongThe service was good, staff very helpful. Location was excellent as outside the hotel have alot restaurants to choose and the food was nice.
Our hotel room facing mount-Fuji love it so much. The breakfast was nice too simple and easy.
Super hotel is a nice hotel, we will choose this branch hotel again for next trip.
