"Facilities: The bedding was incredibly comfortable and clean, ensuring a great night's sleep. The spa is absolutely amazing, and the pool and sauna are fantastic too, though the sauna was a bit too hot for my liking. Breakfast and the restaurant were both delicious. I highly recommend everyone come and try it out!"

GGuest UserMyself and my friend were drawn to the Palace Hotel for its competitive price and location - both of which could not be faulted. Very inexpensive and centrally located in Buxton next to the train station and local shops all within a five minute walk easily. However, without a doubt, you get what you pay for. Whilst the room looked perfectly clean and functional on arrival, both my friend and I awoke after the first night with sore backs. The beds are cheap and unsupportive. The shower is basic and paltry in its water flow. For a one night stay, it’s fine, but don’t expect luxury. The biggest warning we need to issue pertains to the gym. Unless you are a local Buxton male, you won’t feel comfortable here - I couldn’t use one room as there was loud rowdy discussion between men ongoing in a very confined space which made me feel totally unwelcome. I retreated to a different room, also very small and very unclean, with dirt and dust and flakes surrounding the windows and ripped mats on the floor. See photos attached. My friend used the pool which he also described as dirty and he had to take all of his belongings with him into the sauna as the lockers had no locks or keys, rendering them obsolete. The fact that people pay a monthly membership fee to attend this gym is genuinely astounding. Overall, cheap, mildly cheerful, suitable for a night or two basic stay but do not expect luxury from this hotel.

DDr.BalramBest Western Plus Buxton Hotel Stayed here for one night during my Peak District trip. The hotel is very well located, right in the centre of Buxton and close to the Pavilion Gardens, bus stops, and walking routes. The room was clean, comfortable, and warm — perfect after a long day of hiking. Staff were polite and helpful, and the overall experience was smooth and hassle-free. A solid choice if you’re exploring Buxton and the Peak District using public transport.

GGuest UserWe stayed for 1 night for a special occasion. On arrival we were told that the spa was closed for an event which was very disappointing as I booked this hotel because of the spa & had planned to use the pool & sauna. This should gave been communicated at the time of booking. The building and grounds were impressive but on arrival our featured superior room was freezing cold. The reception turned on the heating at our request but this should have been done hours before our arrival given that it was 8 degrees outside. We sat for an hour in the room with our coats on before asking for a portable heater due to the radiators being only lukewarm. The room never really got warm & when we came back from dinner at 9.15 the heating had been turned off again & we had to ask for it to be turned on again. The food in the restaurant was very good & the servers were lovely but unorganised. We planned to have a drink in the hotel bar but it was so cold that it was empty and not comfortable to stay. I heard kore than one staff member complain about the cold in the hotel. What could have been a very pleasant stay was spoiled by the cold. Unfortunately, we will not return.

GGuest UserInvincible satisfaction, this is the most cost-effective hotel I have stayed in the UK, although it is very convenient to eat in the restaurant on the first floor near the manor. The front desk of the hotel is also warm and the dinner tastes good. There is also a RV base next to the hotel. If you get off from Sheffield and take 218 back to Darcy Manor and then transfer to 6.1 Bus for seven minutes, follow the navigation positioning positioning. Remember to continue to walk forward for a few minutes and cross a small bridge. Navigation is not accurate. The local bus is no different from the taxi. I originally took a taxi to the hotel and found that Uber 138 pounds was not cost-effective and it was OK to take the car directly. The scenery along the way is particularly beautiful, and it is also a good journey experience ~

GGlobalTraveller88We chose Wildes Inn as it is conveniently located just 4 minutes from Bolsover Hospital, where our mother was due to have full knee surgery. We wanted her to be well rested and comfortable, and the Inn truly delivered. The staff were very friendly, and we were greeted straight away by a young, polite gentleman who made check-in smooth and stress-free. The lobby smelled wonderful and had a spa-like, relaxing atmosphere. The team were also very thoughtful, knowing the reason for our stay, they even offered to arrange takeaway breakfast for us. We booked an accessible room for our mother, which was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was great too. Overall, we were very satisfied with the entire experience. Our mother was well rested and ready for her surgery. If we pass through again, I would love to try the spa treatments, they certainly look very appealing.

SStephanie Holmes -Booked this hotel as we were attending women’s football at Derby Pride Park.  We used the NCP car park which was only. 5min walk.  All the staff were smart, well mannered and helpful.  The room was a good size and were surprised to have a full sized bath as well as a powerful shower.  Fantastic breakfast selection where all food was replenished as soon as it was getting low. The only negatives for us was the fact we found some rubbish near the bed along with evidence of dust, one of the bed sheets was torn and one of the bedside wall lamp units was hanging off the wall but still functional. Overall a really lovely hotel  and ideally situated for the football stadium as well as taking in the local sites/ shopping centre (straight over the road)

GGuest UserFrom the outside, the hotel makes a charming first impression with its elegant façade, ornate balconies, and a warmly lit lobby that exudes a sense of old-world charm. The check-in process is smooth, and the staff are courteous and eager to help. The room was clean and spacious, the décor is a bit dated but it adds a character to the place and I like it. The only small issue was, there’s no window only a door to the balcony which is locked and we cannot access it making the room stuffy. Also, it was difficult to relax or get a good night’s sleep due to a noise of exhaust fan in the bathroom throughout the night. The bed was comfortable and having an iron was a bonus. Will I stay again? Definitely.
