Really 5-star hotel... It is located right in the heart of WangXianGu. The location alone worth every penny. Mind you that taxi will only bring you to the main reception area. From there depending on what your room number is, you may be 100mtr or 800mtr away from the reception. And due to the nature of the terrains, this also requires a bit of stamina as you may have to walk down to the river where the hustle-and-bustle are or walk up to the breakfast area. But no worries they have porters to help you with the luggages. FYI check in time is 3pm onwards. We had the duplex room so the 2nd bed is on the mezzanine level. And our bedroom window facing right at the valley where at night they lights up everything. What a beautiful sight to behold 😍.

My recent stay at Shangri-La Nanchang was truly delightful. From the moment I arrived, the friendly concierge welcomed me warmly and provided me with a lovely room featuring a stunning river view. The sumptuous dinner that followed was a highlight of my visit. When I inquired about a room upgrade, I was pleasantly surprised by the reasonable price offered. This marks my sixth stay at this hotel, and once again, it proved to be worth every penny. I highly recommend this experience for anyone looking for a blend of comfort and enjoyment!

What an amazing job they have done transforming the scenic area. When you are there, you feel like as if you have been transported back in time with the architecture. The hotel rooms are blended tastefully in with the attraction. Plan on arriving late morning to explore the area before the mass drove of tourist that flocks in from 16:00 - 20:00. Once the lights turn on, the scenic area transforms into an amazing sight. When you get to the area, the hotel reception is inside the visitor area. Once they know you are there, they will send a car to take you into the scenic area where the hotel check in is. The hotel is clean and modern. Staff is very friendly and will go out of their way to ensure your stay is memorable. Like everywhere else in else in China, make sure you have WeChat. It can be your virtual translator when communicating with the hotel staff.

Staying at the cliff side was not as interesting as it seems. A lot of climbing to be done. It is not advisable if one has a lot of luggage. Porters are difficult to get. We were allocated to a horrible room having the main road that was full of construction and another window facing rocks right in front with no views to talk about. After much complaints, we were changed to a better facing room. Can’t imagine paying this much for rooms like that, will not recommend.

Great experience at the Swiss Grand. Would probably stay here again. Room was clean, and the location was ideal for us. It's walking distance to Tengwangge, and close to many lively pedestrian streets. The hotel staff probably does not see many foreign visitors, so there was some confusion with our documents at check in. However, it was quickly resolved.

Very satisfied with all aspects, the breakfast is very rich, the lemonade in the lobby is delicious, there is a gym on the 5th floor, but we are going to Wugong Mountain so we don't need to use any energy, haha. When checking out, the lady at the front desk saw that we were wearing outdoor clothes and knew that we were going to climb the mountain, and gave us fans and fans, which is very considerate. The food at the restaurant was GREAT. We really appreciated the hanfu and calligraphy that the hotel provided us free of charge and the girls were so nice! I would like to mention also H. T. Chen, the guy driving the golf cart: he was the sweetest person, kindest and most helpful with the translator to comunicate, as nobody spoke english. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for the girl and the boy working at the reception on the evening shift, who did not smile not even for a second and were quite rude to me. Too bad I cannot remember their names
