Situated in a great location in the heart of the city in Downtown Houston with convenient access to the MetroLine Rail which is less than a 5 mins walking distance (Red line from Main Street and Green and Purple lines from Rusk Street). I was able to move around the city fairly easy.
For hotel facilities, I liked that there was a gym with free access, which included TV entertainment and a free-access laundry room with both washing machines and tumble dryers. There were drinking water fountains on each floor corridor for guests to refill on water and keep hydrated instead of requesting for more water bottles in their rooms. There were also vending machines available if preferred.
I was a little underwhelmed with the appearance of my first room. The weren't clean from the outside which affected my view. The bathroom mirrors were stained and the room space felt small even as a single guest. There was no mini fridge which I've found to be a hotel room standard and it would've been practical for storing cool drinks and snacks especially in the Texas summer heat. However, there was manually controlled air conditioning which helped. There was also no safe in my room for me to store my valuables and important travel documents which I found puzzling. Hence I requested a room change which the staff assisted me with. The second room was much better as it was a larger space which included an additional arm chair along with a small kitchenette (mini fridge, microwave and a wash-hand basin). The room was cleaner, however there was still no safe. When I enquired about it, I learnt that only some of the rooms have safes which is odd to not to be a feature in all the rooms, so I shared this feedback. Overall, the room decor was simplistic and suited towards business trip/travellers which I didn't mind. However, the rooms could be refurbished to look more modern and minimalist.
The staff were okay. They were helpful in assisting me with a room change when I wasn't happy but I didn't feel like I received exceptional customer service from any particular individual. Upon arriving, I didn't feel properly welcomed and informed about the facilities and a few staff members came across a little nonchalant in addressing queries and issues. For example, I requested a mini fridge to be added to my first room on day 1 which was meant to arrive the same day but instead arrived at my new room the following day when I made the room request showing a slow response time for when I actually needed it. Also my checkout process was very quick and I was informed that my deposit would return to my original payment card within 5 working days which did not happen and I had to follow up with manager who said he would email me to check in on the progress of the refund but I never received any further communication. I had to raise the issue with card provider who told me the the payment was marked as a pending refundable deposit and should the hotel not confirm my refund, then it would automatically be refunded back to my account after 30 days. It was extremely frustrating having to wait an entire month to receive a deposit, when I stayed in other hotels during my time in Texas whereby the deposit refund was instant upon me checking out. Needless to say that my overall experience was okay but could've been better, especially if I was staying there for the entirety of my trip. A few days staying there was enough and I would rate it a 3* rather than a 4* hotel realistically.

Unreasonable charges! ! !
Originally this was a hotel with no merits. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The key was the location, which was not far from the art museum and the Natural History Museum. There was nothing special about it. Breakfast was average, with fruit but no vegetable salad. But leaving the checkout left me feeling confused and even worse. After breakfast on the first day, the male waiter asked me to sign the bill. I said my room included breakfast, but the waiter said it didn't matter. I just had to sign and the front desk would know. I signed it, it was $52 for two people. The next day, we also chose the buffet for breakfast, and the waitress brought us each a glass of apple juice. I got the bill before I left, put down the order and left. I signed it without even looking at it. Signing an order without looking carefully is a hard lesson! ! ! When I checked out, I found that there was an extra $30, so I asked what the price was. The front desk said it was a breakfast tip on the 5th. I said I was eating from the buffet, but the waiter just poured me two glasses of apple juice without me giving a tip. Is she going to take the initiative to write a $20 tip on the bill? Is this reasonable? I can pay the money, because it’s my fault that I didn’t read the bill and signed it, so I have to acknowledge the bill. But I just want to ask him if this is reasonable? The front desk called the restaurant manager. The manager didn't say it was a tip. He said I chose a set meal and they would charge something else. This is absolutely hilarious! The order typed out to me clearly stated gratuity. I will never go to any Omni Hotel again! Too confusing! Ctrip customer service communicated with them, but they still insisted on their approach.
Nice hotel. Free shuttle to the airport every 20 minutes. I had a 14 hr layover in Dallas. Decided I wanted to sleep in a nice comfy bed and this hotel was the right choice. I had an amazing nights sleep and a good breakfast before catching a long haul flight overseas. Definitely made the right choice and will stay again if I have a long layover.

Holiday Inn, owned by InterContinental, has always been the first choice for working families to go on vacation. The breakfast, bedding, hygiene and service are quite satisfactory. Fortunately, I was able to enjoy the bar concert in the ventilation duct for free for 2 consecutive nights, which was full of Mexican flavor! However, the deposit has not been returned after 2 weeks!
Because of the new decoration, it is relatively new, the environment is not bad, because it is relatively biased, there are not many people currently staying. But there are a few problems 1. Bathing water and oil, wash your face with soap, always feel that the soap can not be washed, the shower is also 2. Washing machine and dryer is very dirty 3. Originally saw the comments inside said many nearby There are no Chinese restaurants in the vicinity. It is basically necessary to drive for more than 15 minutes to find a more authentic Chinese restaurant.

There is nothing special to point out. It is a normal hotel in this price range. The stay was quite comfortable and the room was clean. Maybe my stay was too short to say anything special. The hotel is very close to RICE.
This hotel is in a superb location in the southwest of Houston. There is a river at the doorstep, surrounded by greenery, and across the river is the upscale residential area of Sugar Land. Across a small bridge is Houston's most high-end Whole Food Market, with countless restaurants and a rich breakfast. The hotel staff is also very enthusiastic and the rooms are spacious. It has always been my best choice for business vacations.

HH KBreraThis the worst ripoff I ever had, the pictures are deceiving no such thing like a resort and or Hotel, this is more likely a 5th level motel so deceiving so highly priced for the real rooms quality. The phone line was death, I had to walk in to the lobby for service , I will rate this place - 1000 if it was possible , location is great but no quality parking control anybody can drive in and use a suppose to be a private beach for the guests, at check
Put time I asked for some kind of reference # and or statement and I was told to ask trip.com for my check out time and or check out statement after this lack
Of honesty ripoff I was highly concerned to be charge for extra time and or incidentals I never used and when I ask for some kind of evidence and or printout statement they call security to kick me out and if they didn’t was because Inturned my phone camera on
AAnonymous UserExcellent location, could not be more central. Rustic decor in keeping with the place. Food was excellent and staff were very helpful. Parking is charged extra.
GGuest UserMy daughter and I were traveling for a gymnastics competition. We were pleased with the location's proximity to the Fort Worth Convention Center and dining options. The room and hotel were pretty clean overall.
However, these are the weird things that ruined our stay:
- The bathroom door knob was missing. I know it sounds weird, but there was no knob--just a big hole in the door where one should be.
- The heat in our room did not work. We were cold and had it set to 80, but it only blew cold air.
- Upon arrival at breakfast (included with our specific booking) no one acknowledged us or greeted us. We waited for a while and then I tracked down a worker putting out food to ask if we seat ourselves or if someone seats us. She did not reply to me (language barrier), but got someone to tell us we could just seat ourselves. It was confusing and unwelcoming. I witnessed other patrons enter after me and share the same confusion and have to ask as well. A simple greeting, welcome, or explanation could go a LONG way.
I am not typically a complainer, so the issues above would've normally been mentioned at checkout for resolution before the next time they put someone in the room. It wasn't worth the hassle of moving to a different room.
- (This was the biggie.) We had a family enter our room because they were given keys and assigned OUR room at check in. We had not checked out, and now our keys would no longer work. The family returned to the desk and were assigned a different room. When I asked about this mix up at the desk, they told me they ”didn't know how that had happened” like I was somehow making it up. They reprogrammed our key cards and assured us that no one else would bother us during the remainder of our stay.
- They charged me for one night of parking instead of two, and charged me for breakfast although it was included with my booking. These charges were resolved and an apology was extended for the inconveniences of the stay.
I would not stay at this hotel again, and will choose differently when traveling there next year. It was a hassle and a disappointment.
GGuest UserThe room was very nice and updated. Location was excellent and within walking distance to the Kid Rock concert. It was on the waterway, so it made the walk enjoyable....close to restaurants too. Parking at the guest garage was affordable at $17 for 24 hours. Hotel staff was very friendly.
GGuest UserWe had many issues. The elevators worked sporadically. When climbing the 3 flights of stairs we still could not get in. The doors were locked and we had to bang on the door for someone to open the door from the inside. We only had one roll of toilet paper for 3 nights. No extra roll in the room for us. Service at bars was not great. Employees seemed overworked and not happy to be there.
EExpatCambria is a newer hotel amidst the redevelopment projects taking place near Rainey Street, a historic landmark of homes turned into entertainment venues. Cambria is opposite side of the spectrum with innovative decor and relaxation. Note that parking costs 49USD per day with valet access only. We chose not to rent a car based on our needs in Austin. Came to visit my son and his family with my eldest son, so we wanted to have some options near nightlife activities. Local drivers shared info on the changes made to the nearby historic street, and staff was friendly with all needs. The water statiins were a plus. Where I think Cambria can improve is in the price of the rooms, menu items and operation hours of their lobby bar/roof bar since staff was short during our stay. Walking to the entertainment street required the back alley short trek, and that aspect took away from the lush atmosphere of the hotel. Grafitti and Limestone hotel venues can easily adjust their marketung strategies towards in-house entertainment along with the Valet arrangement to flow more smoothly and affordably. It’s a lovely hotel which can become full circle staycation with a few adjustments regarding that aspect. New business developments working alongside grass roots businesses is key to smooth changes for both visitors and long-time locals. The pool atmosphere is great, the gym is clean, and the first floor waiting area an easy meeting spot.

LLIJUNThe breakfast is very simple, there is nothing to eat, just join in. They have an airport shuttle bus to Dallas love field airport, from 6 am to 10 pm. Others are ok, the hotel is quite satisfactory.
GGuest UserThe San Luis Resort and Spa is the best 8n Galveston PIRIOD!!!! Every time I bring my family we always stay here and every time they exced our expectations. All the stuff is very polite, attentive and always want to go the extra mile for you. On this particular trip we came here because it was my daughter's Nationals Dance Competition as well as her birthday and on top of that my wife's and I Aniversary and when I was doing the check-in I mentioned to Connie at the front desk and she suggested it tonnage something n8ce done for my wife and daughter.. Connie and Camille the concierge took care of everything, they got a dozen of red Roses and Strawberrys cover in chocolate for my wife and a birthday cake and small flower bouquet for my daughter and made me look like the best!!! So thank you so much Connie and Camille you guys are great!!. I wanna thank to all th3 Resort stuff too, the Vallet Parking guys whole were always polite, the waitress lady at the pool. Sorry I didn't get there names but they were great too. I recommend this resort very much. I know I might be a little more expensive but I always saybthis ” You get what you paid and what's cheaper ends up being a lot more expensive!!”
GGuest UserHadn't stayed at The Kendall for several years, so was looking forward to this trip. This is an older, historic property so I knew what to expect. It was nice to see that the bar and restaurant were open. The renovation was done really well. The outdoor patio offered a very nice view. The room, however, was a disappointment. The gap around the door barely allowed the lock bolt to catch. It also allowed an awful lot of light in the room. The bed or the room tilted so the foot end of the bed was higher than the head end. The mattress, and I use the term loosely, felt as old as I am. Reminded me of the feather beds at my grandma's hose as it caused you to roll to the middle of the bed. The shower in the old claw foot tub sprayed water over the shower curtain onto a bookshelf that was hanging on the wall and soaked the few items we had placed there. Thankfully, the supply of towels in the room was enough to clean up the water on the floor. The large water bug didn't seem to mind the added moisture.
I really like this motel. I hope the owners will take the time to notice the little things that make staying at an older property enjoyable.
