GGuest User: The rooms are incredibly clean and unique, and the common areas are really well-designed. There's a beautiful waterscape in front of the guesthouse where you can even go fishing 🎣. The owner is someone who truly appreciates life, very calm and patient. He's not one for excessive talk, but he loves sharing stories about the local culture, which adds a special touch to the travel experience. He's also super enthusiastic; when he's not busy, he even takes guests to visit all the must-see spots in Arctic Village. The breakfast is simple yet plentiful. A big thank you! We've already booked with him to come back in winter to see the Northern Lights. Hope to be lucky enough to catch them next time!

OOxingpingzi: This was an excellent stay! The guesthouse is located right in the heart of the scenic area, very close to Polaris Square, making it convenient for visiting various attractions and watching the bonfire party at night. The room's decor, furnishings, facilities, and cleanliness were all top-notch – we were very comfortable. The owner was incredibly kind. It was raining on the day we arrived, and we called him for directions from the park entrance to his place. He enthusiastically guided us on how to drive our car right into the courtyard, saving us from getting wet and having to take the park shuttle. When we arrived, our room was still being cleaned, so the owner kindly gave us a rundown of the scenic area's attractions and suggested we drop off our luggage and start exploring, which saved us a lot of time. After a tiring day of sightseeing, we asked for a restaurant recommendation, and he pointed us to a fantastic eatery where we had a very satisfying meal. On our departure day, the owner warmly invited us to visit again and even gave us some local specialty drinks as a gift. It was truly a wonderful accommodation experience, and we will definitely stay here again if we have the chance!

GGuest User: This guesthouse truly impressed me. Despite being a guesthouse, the decor, ambiance, and both soft and hard facilities met hotel standards. It was very clean, yet still retained its unique guesthouse charm. The owners, a husband and wife, were both incredibly nice. It rained on the night we checked in, so we decided to eat at the guesthouse. The proprietress cooked a few dishes, and they were all delicious. Breakfast was also clean and refreshing, and we ate very comfortably. My child even said she had the best corn ever there. Upon our departure, my child unexpectedly received a small gift, which was a lovely surprise. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I visit Mohe in winter.

MMetalWater9999: The hotel facilities are quite decent. The small courtyard area is very well-maintained and clean. We had a very comfortable stay; everything was spotlessly clean. Cleanliness: Excellent. Environment: Also very good. Service: Absolutely top-notch, couldn't be better. The only slight drawback is that the surrounding environment of Beijicun village itself isn't the best. But given its remote location, the overall experience was still very positive. This hotel is definitely recommended. It has its own restaurant, and the food served is all quite good.

🍂 Heading north, I encountered the entire golden autumn in Mohe, China's northernmost point! While the south is still waiting for the temperature to drop, the Greater Khingan Mountains are already painted in autumn colors, covered in overwhelming gold! 🚂 Traveling by train through the forest, the view outside the window is like a moving oil painting 🎨 Every frame is so beautiful you won't want to blink~ 🌲 My favorite is the birch forest! The white trunks stand straight in rows, the leaves are a translucent yellow, and the sunlight slants down. When the wind blows, the golden leaves rustle down ✨ Walking on the fallen leaves makes a crunching sound; with a golden dome overhead and a golden carpet underfoot, it's truly stunning! 📸 Every shot is perfect for social media! 🌊 You must climb high to see the First Bay of the Heilongjiang River! The Heilongjiang River water is a tranquil blue, winding around the Golden Ring Island in a big curve. The trees on the island are layered in green, yellow, and red. Across the river is another country, so quiet that only the sound of the wind remains~ Standing high up and looking down, you'll be truly speechless at the sight! 🌅 I recommend visiting the Nine Bends and Eighteen Turns in the afternoon! Climb up for a bird's-eye view as the river winds through the wetlands, with sunlight slanting across the water, shimmering and sparkling ✨ The colorful forests on both banks are reflected in the water; every bend is a painting. The autumn scenery by the lake is so peaceful that you'll want to just daydream for the whole afternoon 🍂 Autumn here has low, warm sunlight, and a cool, clean breeze. Nine Bends and Eighteen Turns: Climb Tenglong Pavilion to watch the Emuer River wind through the sea of forests Departing from downtown Mohe and heading toward Tuqiang along the Jiamo Highway, you will see dense larch and birch forests of the Greater Khingan Mountains on both sides of the road. After driving for just over 20 minutes, a five-story, faux-wood pavilion appears by the roadside, standing firmly on the edge of a wetland. You have arrived at the Nine Bends and Eighteen Turns. First, climb Tenglong Pavilion After entering the scenic area, the first stop is Tenglong Pavilion. The pavilion is over 24 meters tall and has five stories, each with an overhanging platform. As you climb level by level, your view gradually rises through the gaps in the treetops, revealing the wetlands and river sections one by one. Upon reaching the top floor, the wind rushes up from the forest, fluttering your clothes. Looking down, the Emuer River flows from the foot of the distant mountains, winding through the wetlands with bend after bend. The river is not wide, and its water is dark, resembling a dark green ribbon winding between the coniferous and birch forests on both banks. The river bends are not neat arcs; they twist sharply in some places and gently in others, with some spots almost looping back on themselves before continuing eastward. The wetland meadows spread between the river bends, with colors transitioning layer by layer from light green to dark green. The distant mountain ridges rise and fall on the skyline, with deep green in the foreground and pale blue in the distance. Walk into the wetlands along the wooden boardwalk Descending from Tenglong Pavilion, a 1,500-meter-long wooden boardwalk extends deep into the wetlands. The boardwalk is not wide, but it is stable to walk on, flanked by dense birch and poplar trees. The trunks grow straight upward, and their leaves reveal silvery-white undersides in the wind. Sunlight filters through the gaps in the canopy, falling onto the boardwalk and breaking into small, scattered patches of light. Reaching the middle section of the boardwalk, you get closer to the river bends. The sound of water comes from outside the forest—not loud, but persistent. The river makes a large turn in this section, with the water surface mostly obscured by the shadows of the trees on the bank, leaving only a glimmering line in the middle. Birch trunks lean diagonally from the bank toward the water, their roots anchored in the damp, soft soil, with some exposed and intertwined on the riverbank. Several signs stand along the boardwalk, describing the plants and birds of this wetland; the text is small, requiring you to get close to read it clearly. The colors of autumn From late September to early October, the colors here are at their richest. The birch leaves turn golden yellow, the larches are tinged with warm yellow, and the oaks and maples are mixed with red and rust-red, while the dark green Scots pines remain as they are, with these colors interwoven across both banks. The river surface reflects these hues; looking down from above, it resembles a jade-green ribbon passing through a colorful sea of forests. When the wind blows, leaves fall from the trees and carpet the boardwalk, crunching underfoot. Practical tips The Nine Bends and Eighteen Turns are located in Tuqiang Town, Mohe City, about 16 kilometers from downtown Mohe. It is convenient to reach by car or chartered vehicle. The main route in the scenic area includes Tenglong Pavilion and the wooden boardwalk; climbing the pavilion and walking the boardwalk takes about an hour at a leisurely pace. Morning mist is common in the early morning or after rain, with clouds swirling over the river and light filtering through the mist onto the forest and water, creating a completely different scene from a sunny day. There are many mosquitoes in the forest, so bring insect repellent if visiting in summer. The temperature difference between morning and evening is significant, so bringing a light jacket is advisable. When descending from the boardwalk, the sky was already darkening. Looking back at the faux-wood pavilion, it stood quietly in the twilight on the edge of the wetland, waiting for the next person to climb it. The Emuer River continued to wind through the forest sea, unhurried and steady.

The Greater Khingan Mountains span Inner Mongolia and Heilongjiang. As China's largest primeval forest area, it features distinct seasonal landscapes and diverse ways to explore. This guide will help you prioritize your trip based on the season. 🗓️ Best time to travel The Greater Khingan Mountains have four distinct seasons. Summer and autumn are best for general travel, while winter is for those who love extreme cold and snowscapes. · Summer (June–August): A top choice for escaping the heat, with temperatures between 18–26℃. You will need a light blanket at night. Experience the "white night" phenomenon, where sunset in Mohe is near 9:00 PM. It is recommended to avoid the peak tour group period in mid-to-late July. · Autumn (mid-September to early October): The most stunning season. White birches turn golden, and Dahurian larches remain emerald green, creating a breathtaking "five-flower mountain" landscape. The best viewing period for the northern route (Genhe/Moerdaoga) is September 15–25, while the southern route (Arxan) can last until around October 3. After the National Day holiday, the leaves on the northern route will mostly have fallen. · Winter (November–February): An extreme cold experience with temperatures often between -30℃ and -40℃. This is the period with the highest probability of seeing the Northern Lights (over 70%). You can experience activities like throwing boiling water into the air to create ice crystals and riding horse-drawn sleds. 🚗 Transportation guide The Greater Khingan Mountains cover a vast area with scattered attractions, and public transport generally does not cover the core scenic spots. · External transport: · Flights: You can fly directly to Jiagedaqi Gaoxian Airport (the capital) or Mohe Gulian Airport. A flight from Beijing to Jiagedaqi takes about 2 hours. · Trains: Taking a train from Harbin is a classic choice. A sleeper to Jiagedaqi costs about CNY 200 and takes one night; a hard sleeper to Mohe costs about CNY 300 and takes nearly 20 hours, allowing you to experience the "snow train" traveling through the forest. · Internal transport (key): · Chartered car: The most recommended method. Local chartered cars in Mohe cost about CNY 200/day, and inter-regional charters cost about CNY 400–600/day. Drivers usually double as guides and are familiar with road conditions and attractions. · Self-driving: Offers the most freedom. The main Jia-Mo Highway is in good condition, but gas stations are extremely scarce, so be sure to fill up whenever you see one. Signal in the forest area is unstable, so download offline maps in advance. · Local shuttle buses: The Mohe Bus Station has direct shuttles to Arctic Village. There are 4 buses daily in summer (CNY 30), and 2 daily in winter (CNY 25), with a travel time of about 2 hours. 📍 Must-visit attractions and routes Core landmarks · Mohe Arctic Village: The northernmost town in China, centered on the ritual of "finding the north." Must-visit spots include the Northernmost Post Office and the Shenzhou Arctic Square, where you can look across the river at Russia. Admission is CNY 68, and the village sightseeing bus is CNY 30 (mandatory purchase, private cars are prohibited). · Mohe Beihong Village: More primitive and tranquil than Arctic Village, this is the true northernmost village geographically. You can experience undeveloped Northeast wooden houses (log cabins) and rural life. · First Bay of the Heilongjiang River: The river forms a perfect Ω-shaped bend here. You need to climb 998 steps to reach the viewing platform; the autumn scenery is particularly magnificent. · Nine Bends and Eighteen Turns Wetland Park: Located in Jiagedaqi, this is a photography paradise for viewing morning mist and sunrise, with the river winding through the forest like a jade belt. Classic route references · 3-day, 2-night classic northern route: Mohe city → Nine Bends and Eighteen Turns → Birch Forest → Arctic Village → Christmas Village → Beihong Village → First Bay of the Heilongjiang River. · 4-day in-depth tour: Pick up at Mohe → Arctic Village, Beihong Village, Reindeer Park → Return to Mohe city, visit Mohe Ballroom and Songyuan. · 5–7 day in-depth experience: Can connect Mohe, Jiagedaqi, Genhe, etc., and arrange at least two days for deep forest hiking or off-road vehicle traversal. 🍜 Food recommendations Cuisine in the Greater Khingan Mountains focuses on mountain delicacies and hearty Northeast dishes with generous portions. · Forest delicacies: Stewed chicken with mushrooms (using wild hazel mushrooms), braised pork with lion's mane mushrooms, and fried wild vegetable balls. · Cold-water river fish: Braised heavy-lipped fish, pan-fried willow-root fish. The meat is firm and tender, and the sauce is perfect with rice. · Northeast classics: Iron pot stewed goose, "pig slaughter" feast, perfect for enjoying around a stove in cold weather. · Specialty snacks: Baiyinna cakes (served with wild blueberry jam), sticky bean buns, blueberry jam buns. 🏠 Accommodation advice · Mohe/Arctic Village: Many options, ranging from farmhouse heated-brick-bed (kang) homestays to hotels. You can also experience forest cabins or log villas within Arctic Village. · Beihong Village: Primarily features original farmhouse heated-brick-bed (kang) homestays. Conditions are relatively simple, but the experience is authentic. · Moerdaoga/Genhe: You can stay in log cabins built from raw wood to immerse yourself in forest life. ⚠️ Important practical tips 1. Clothing guide: Bring warm jackets year-round. In summer, there is a large temperature difference between day and night, so bring a windbreaker. In winter, you must be fully equipped with a thick down jacket, snow boots, hat, scarf, and gloves. 2. Safety and fire prevention: All outdoor fires are strictly prohibited in the forest area, including camping stoves and barbecues. When driving, be sure to keep windows closed and doors locked at all times. If you encounter wild animals (such as bears), never stop to take photos or get out of the car; drive away quickly and steadily. 3. Mosquito protection and medicine: There are many mosquitoes in the forest area in summer, so bring mosquito repellent and anti-itch ointment. It is recommended to carry common medicines such as cold medicine, stomach medicine, and motion sickness medicine. 4. Respect customs and protect the environment: Respect the customs and habits of local ethnic minorities such as the Oroqen and Russian ethnic groups, and take all trash with you to protect the fragile ecological environment. The travel experience in the Greater Khingan Mountains varies by season—see the colors in summer and autumn, and enjoy the ice and snow in winter. I hope this guide helps you plan an unforgettable "finding the north" trip~

Many people who come to Mohe head straight for the popular photo spots, but miss the little-known Amur wetland. In autumn, the Amur wetland lies quietly, its water spreading out as the surface mirrors vast clouds and colorful woods. Groves of white birch stand tall, their pale trunks contrasting with golden leaves, and when the wind blows, the golden leaves flutter down. Marsh meadows turn a warm gold, Mongolian pines retain a deep, rugged green, and layers of red, orange, and gold weave together into the Greater Khingan's unique riot of color. In the early morning, a thin mist drifts over the wetland, tranquil and healing. Autumn in the far north lasts only about 20 days, with no crowds. Standing on the boardwalk and listening to the wind through the birch, all the effort is worth it.
Standing beside the boundary marker, a sense of pride welled up within me, a feeling of being at the northernmost tip of our motherland. The compass square and unique sculptures in the village are very well-designed; every snapshot is a masterpiece. Looking at the border scenery under the blue sky and white clouds, I felt incredibly at ease. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to experience the ultimate northern charm! 😋
涛声依旧&涛声依旧Those 1000+ wooden steps are not easy to climb. But you only truly appreciate the view of the Omega sculpture from the east and west viewing platforms. The first stop of the scenic area bus is at the northernmost point, including the Ussuri River Shoal, where the scenery is decent.
DaokdaoBeihong Village is located northeast of Mohe City, on the southern bank of the upper Heilongjiang River at the Sino-Russian border. Further north than Beiji Village, it is China's northernmost undeveloped village. Beihong Village, formerly known as Dacaodianzi Village, is part of Beiji Town, Mohe City, in the Greater Khingan Range region of Heilongjiang Province. It is China's northernmost village-level administrative unit, surrounded by mountains on three sides and with the upper reaches of the Heilongjiang River flowing through it. It is a village inhabited by ethnic Russians that has preserved its pristine character. With a population of approximately 320, over 40% are of Russian descent, fostering a unique Russian culture. 欲飞的鸟Can you really see the aurora in Mohe, the northernmost county in China? Rare natural landscapes in China: The most difficult to chase is the aurora in Mohe, which has not appeared for many years. The highest probability of seeing the aurora is from November to March. At this time, the lowest temperature in most parts of Heilongjiang is minus ten or twenty degrees Celsius, and even this year in Mohe it was as low as minus 53 degrees Celsius. In fact, it is still 1,500 kilometers away from the Arctic Circle. It is called the Arctic Village because it fits people's impression of the Arctic. In addition to the aurora, there is also a natural phenomenon called white nights. If you can't catch the aurora, what else can you do in Mohe? Some people call this trip a journey to find the north, staying in the "northernmost family", finding the "Shenzhou Arctic Stone", taking photos with the "northernmost outpost" and "northernmost boundary monument", sending a postcard to a friend at the "northernmost post office", and making iron flowers under the "northernmost sunshine".
迪肯孔裴矩I hope to see the sunset and the fiery clouds at the Nine Bends and Eighteen Turns of Bayinbuluke tonight, which will be a perfect end to this one-month photography trip to Xinjiang.
真诚7577Ussuri Shoal is the true northernmost point of China in a geographical sense, facing Russia across the Heilongjiang River. The border river and the forest scenery are tranquil and expansive, and the stone monument at the entrance is a memorable landmark. However, there is no public transportation, so you need to hire a car to get there. The shuttle bus stops at the scenic area for a short time, and the tour content is limited, so making it not very cost-effective to make a special trip there.
cat litter boxesThe birch forest you see is different from what I see! The scenery we saw was very beautiful. The main scenery was not the birch forest, but the big bend of the river after passing through the birch forest. After looking at the pictures, the location is from Beihong Village, turn to the mainland of Beiji Village, and walk more than ten kilometers. There is a parking lot on the left side of the road. No one collects money. The small road walks into the birch forest on the side of the road. About 500 meters, down a small slope, there is an observation deck, overlooking the scenery. The scenery here is excellent. It is possible that the chartered driver knows this place clearly.

In December 2019, Liu Shuang heard a retro song coming from a dance hall (not this one) in Mohe, and an old man named Zhang Dequan was dancing alone. After asking, he learned that he met his wife Kang in the Mohe Dance Hall and got married in 1983, but Kang died in the fire in 1987. Zhang Dequan did not remarry and had no children. He often went to the dance hall near the scene to dance and commemorate his deceased wife. The current dance hall was rebuilt after the song became popular. It is no longer the original site. The ticket price is 20 yuan, and the song "Mohe Dance Hall" is often heard in the dance hall.

做梦的猪2000In the primeval forest on the northwestern foot of the Greater Khingan Range and the right bank of the Ergun River, there is a little-known ethnic minority tribe, the Ewenki reindeer people of "Aoluguya" (a place name, meaning a place with lush poplar forests). Because this group of people mainly make a living by raising reindeer and hunting, and wandering in the primeval forest of the Greater Khingan Range all year round, they are also called the Ewenki people who use reindeer or the Ewenki hunters. The Ewenki people have a long history of raising reindeer.
