Things to do in Shennongjia

Visiting Shennongjia in late autumn means fewer crowds, and you can drive into all the attractions without parking fees. After exiting Shennongtan, turn right and you'll find a couple's stall selling roasted chestnuts by the roadside; the chestnuts are delicious!

The scenery at the scenic area exceeded my expectations; the mountains and waters were beautiful, with stunning views everywhere. Strolling through the mountains, feeling the natural breeze, all my fatigue melted away. The views were excellent; even the unedited photos were beautiful. It's perfect for relaxation and unwinding, and the overall experience was great. Highly recommended!

We went to Shennongjia International Ski Resort on the third day of the Lunar New Year. The weather was fantastic, and the operation seemed quite mature. Since our whole family were complete beginners, we bought two-hour passes initially. At the front desk, we exchanged our passes for cards, each with a 500 RMB deposit. After the initial three hours, the full day's fee would be automatically deducted. For first-time skiers, hiring an instructor is essential. There was a small table with the word "Instructor" written on it, and a long line of instructors waited there like taxis, taking whoever was available. I hired a one-on-two instructor for my two children for 400 RMB per hour, and the instructor was very responsible. In the end, the adults were exhausted after two hours of aimless skiing, while the children were led by an instructor for one hour and then skied on their own for another two hours. Entry to the snow play area was free; you also exchanged your pass at the front desk for a 500 RMB deposit, which could be deducted from any paid activities. Overall, it was quite convenient. I decided to ski on a whim, so I didn't rent helmets and goggles in Muyu Town but rented them at the ski resort, and the price was reasonable.

It might be a small attraction, parking is difficult, and you need to queue to get in. It's worth a visit for first-timers; I saw online that you could play in the water, but it was closed when we arrived, which disappointed the kids. However, it's very cool and comfortable inside in the summer. The attractions are rather limited; besides the natural bridge, there's nothing particularly unique to do.

The scenery is first-class. I went to Shennongtan, Shennongding, Tiansheng Bridge, Tianyan, and visited Muyu Town and Songbai Town. It is worth buying a package ticket. It is valid for five days. You can buy the double package.

Guanmenshan is a rare and relaxing summer retreat in Shennongjia. The entire trail is gentle and easy to follow, suitable for all ages. Streams murmur through the forest, creating a vibrant and oxygen-rich atmosphere. Visitors can spot adorable giant pandas, admire the unique cliffside beehive landscape, explore the temperature-controlled karst caves, and visit the natural science exhibition hall to learn about rare flora and fauna and geological history. Combining natural beauty with educational opportunities, it's perfect for family trips and a must-visit spot in Shennongjia.

The scenery is beautiful when the weather is good, but a clear sky is crucial. The blue sky and white clouds complement the grasslands, wetlands, mountains, and lakes, creating a breathtakingly beautiful scene. Walking along the scenic route, you'll feel like you've arrived in Guilin. You'll need to take a designated shuttle bus within the scenic area. The last stop is the deer park, where you can buy food for 10 yuan and feed the sika deer. However, the deer seemed quite full and refused to eat the corn they were given.

The kids really enjoyed it. The theater is very close to the Muyu Hotel, right next door. Before the show started, there were some folk actors interacting with the audience, which was really fun, and the kids had a great time. The male lead was quite handsome.

The location is convenient, with a shuttle bus available from the bus stop in front of the hotel. It's a great ski resort for beginners; not too crowded, and the experience is quite pleasant. After collecting your tickets, you can get your ski boots and snowboard using your ski pass, and then simply swipe your pass to enter the ski area – everything was very smooth! (Your ski pass is very important!) I highly recommend Instructor #17. She's very nice and patient, providing hands-on guidance without rushing. Even as a complete beginner, I quickly learned the basics under her instruction! I asked Instructor #17 for a 1-on-2 lesson with my mom. Although my mom was a little slower, the instructor still provided constant guidance and even helped take photos and videos – very helpful! A very enjoyable snowboarding lesson; I highly recommend Instructor #17!

Tianyan Scenic Area is an original ecological tourism area with the backdrop of primeval forest scenery, the legend of Shennong and the simple mountain culture as its connotation, and the integration of rare trees, rare flowers, rare caves, rare peaks and the unique customs of mountain people. It is themed on reflecting the primitive and ancient times and exploring the mystery.
